Using the terrain raisers/lowerers that come with the NAM are very useful because you can plop em anywhere on land or water. Also there is a trick that involves plopping the road to elevated road transition ramp. I forget the exact methodology, but if you plop it facing the water (or away, I forget) it will lift some of the land that is currently sea.

A while back I downloaded a zip from a forum that contained a temporary slope mod. This mode made it so roads could only be completely flat, and I used it to save a lot of time terraforming straigt edge shores and terraces. Anyone know where I can find this slope mod or one like it? Or how to create my own like that...
