I highly recommend Banished, great game.
-
I have recommended it as well and agree it has much potential. However I am back to playing SC4/NAM32 until Banished gets some tweaks in gameplay. Maybe I'm just not a good player but tired of banging my head on the wall so to speak.

I agree its tough, but that's the challenge of it! It makes you think of everything. Took me a few tries to grasp a good strategy.

How are you supposed to use one way streets?
joeynymets replied to Simcity_4U's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
In my big cities where I have a grid road layout and the roads are congested, I alternate with one way roads to help alleviate the traffic. -

As stated in a thread by SuperBeber that the NAM lacks a GLR to rail transfer. This lot does it. Please note that this is only a BETA version there will be more better versions to come. Right now this is NOT U-Drive-It enable, and tram or trains do not enter the lot. Although they dont go into the lot the passenger are still transfered from one system to another. Installation: 1) Extract the file into you My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder 2) the file appears in the misc folder Dependencies(is that spelled right?) sorry I cant spell 1) The NAM 2) Thats it only the NAM! If you have any problem in the game please PM me. As always please rate and comment :-)- 46 Comments

It is basically 2009 version, but with bug fixes, buildings unlocked, trade system betwen your own cities, subways, and a couple other things. But there is no drastic change to the game that would make anybody's jaws drop open.quote> Thats what I was expecting in 2009, just having that is good enough for me

I think that the design looks nice, but i as a New Yorker who knew people who died and risked their lives on 9/11 think the location is too close to the WTC. Manhattan is a big place, they can find another location to build it.

Hi all! i recently decided to install SC4 onto my my computer again and its being very laggy. I am running 64 bit windows 7, here are the specs of my computer: Processor: AMD 64 X2 4800+ RAM: 4 Gigs Graphics: Nvidia 9800 GT I have tried almost everything I've read and nothing has worked. I've tried compatibility mode, running in 256 colors, changing the rendering etc. Any suggestions?

Thanks for that SC4BOY, that helped a little bit but the game still runs laggy

Two days ago i uploaded the ground hwy version and then i thought about an one way road and a street version, so here they are.... Again special thanks goes out to goldiva Lot Specs: One Way Road Version: size: 1x2 Cost: 100 Buldoze Cost: 10 capacity: 30000 street: size: 1x1 Cost: 100 Buldoze Cost: 10 Capacity: 30000 ***If you put these toll booths in front of RCI buildings a no road connection will appear above the RCI building*** ****You will need mr snoopys new toll stations for the street texture to show up you can get it here Like always please vote and comment -
I preordered the game and got it yesterday and here are my first thoughts (I will add more as i continue playing): Pros - Graphics, its easy on the eye and i like the 3-D world - Easy to learn, as a SC4 player i was expecting it to be different, and it was, but it was easy to learn - Easy to layout roads Cons - Dependant on the internet: not a fan of this, i would like to just start up the game and play solo, without logging in or anything - less content in solo mode: Really MC? your gunna force more money out of people for mass transit and more buildings? im not going to spend $10 a month just to get more content, especially when i wouldnt want to play online at all - Autosave: i think there should be a option, at least in single player, to turn off autosave or at least ask if i want to save my city As i said, i'll add more as i play more of the game. I was expecting this to be like SC4, where it will be playable many years after the release but first impression are telling me that it not going to end up that way. Hopefully the people at MC will patch the game up so it doesnt turn into a big flop. Comments?

Originally posted by: Potoroo Needless to say, I am one of many beta testers whose money MC did not get. quote> I agree, when they first introduced the game as Cities Unlimited.. it look like a hit..somewhere down the road they decided to make it all about money Edited for quoted derogatory comment.

But what if PO goes under and MC shuts their servers off in a year, will you still be able to play single player, remember you have to login there is no seperate launcher unless they release one. Then your $40 is down the drain and you have a game you can no longer play. quote> That is not true, you can still play Cities XL Solo without conection after the initial activation. This is why it is a good thing to check the facts before giving judgemnts. quote> how do you do that? i have to login in order to even run the game

michael63000: My thoughts exactly right now...
-
8elhaj: Think about it this way, all the content in SC4 was free and it was a huge sucess, sure, if it offered something like PO to play on a planet with other people i would pay for it, but to include content is essentially vital in a good city and that should be avalible to all players doesnt make sense. Brandon8181: I too am a huge SC fan and ive been playin for 10+ years and i was very excited about Cities XL but right now it seems like a huge dissappointment, aslo, i have only played for less than an hour ,because school work comes first, but i couldnt tell you about the buildings being so close but ill let you know as i play more. Giants all the way
