Guys, for some reason my recycle and dump trucks dont pick up rubbish from my expo centre. Has anyone else had this prolem or know a solution?

Right, I deleted the truck garages and rebuilt them and the problem remains. They pick up everything, just not from the expo center. I'll try deleting and rebuilding the expo center and see if it does the trick.

While we're on this topic, do any of you have many people commuting from other cities to your city with university in it? I cant seem to get them to commute.

Firstly, when a city gets to 90-100k, how do you deal with traffic? I have a pretty good layout and considering the population its doing ok. However, theres still a LOT of congestion. I have one fully maxed out streetcar depot and no bus terminals. If I add another streetcar depot will it reduce traffic? Should I add a bus terminal? Secondly, my buildings are constantly burning down! My sims are quite educated so not sure why that is?? Thanks in advance!

Added an extra streetcar depot and a bus depot. Population is now at 125k and traffic is pretty good. A big disappointment though, is that all my recycling trucks all follow eachother. I thought this was supposed to have been fixed after the last update.

Good idea on the seasons. It would be pretty cool to have droughts during summer or road closures during winter due to snow. Mainly though, bigger maps and subways. -
I have an issue in my city where there are so many freight trucks. They are clogging up my roads and traffic is awful as a result. Can someone please explain the reason/solution to this. Thanks.

I've seen this response a lot and often times it's not a bug. Tourism cities are challenging if you're not familiar with them. I think if we had a collection of screen shots and data, we could pin point the problem. Tourism cities rely on a robust road layout, minimal traffic, mass transit, and excellent services. Grow slow and identify the problems, and usually you'll be alright. All of which I have. Very annoying. -

I have 1 bus station, I have 3 train stations, 1 ferry terminal (turned off because nobody uses it), 1 airport (turned off as nobody uses it), 3 gambling houses (usually they make no profit), 1 SF casino (makes no profit at all), 1 sleek casino (makes no profit at all). The only thing which is doing well is my expo centre (and even then I only get half full attendances, which is strange becuase I have a train station right beside it while also being right beside the city entrance (I've virtually no traffic problems either). Basically, I cant attract tourists to my city and I'm 10k in the red. I dont remember it being this hard the last time I made a casino/tourist city. Edited to say that I have three landmarks, all of which make zero profit p/hr. -

I'm struggling with my casino city currently. How exactly do I attract tourists? I'm spending loads on transportation (ferry/cruise port, airport, bus terminal, streetcars etc) but I just cant make money from my casinos and tourist buildings. Also, could somebody reply to the post above this one too? Some of the points made in it are relevant to me. Cheers. -
My traffic seems to have become a lot worse after the patch.

I, for one, don't find the game all that easy. Fair enough if you go down the road of exporting alloy/plastic/processors etc. But try running a self sufficient tourism/gambling city and it's very different.

This also frustrates me. Sim City 2013 has put huge emphasis on traffic. However, I believe that in order to make a proper attempt at dealing with this traffic, there simply arent enough tools for us to do so, such as building bridges, tunnels, roundabouts etc. Giving us only 6 (7?) different road options isnt sufficient.

Sorry bud I can't help as I didn't even try; I use a mod for tunnels. Which mod did you use? Is it an easier technique then this one?

I can now do overpasses without any problems. However, I'm really struggling to create tunnels. I can never seem to go deep enough. I always seem to get to a certain level and no matter how many times I try bulldozing and all that, I just cant go any deeper.

Its a funny one. I was having big problems with the cursur being too jumpy, then when I tried it in a different region the cursur was fine! I've made a few overpasses but I'm finding it difficult to make tunnels. Practice makes perfect, though!

I'm finding it very hard. Nowhere near as easy as in the video. I'm struggling to find the sweet spot between the red and blue circles when planting a small section of road. The cursur is just very jumpy. Anyone else having the same problem?

I discovered the source of my taxis and deleted the hotel. Suddenly there were no taxis! However, I have an unbelievable traffic problem which is crippling me. I've never had this problem before. Really dont know where to go from here. I may have to start over. But I'm not sure what I've learnt from this city which I'll be able to avoid next time. -

I'm also currently making a casino/tourism city. I'm really struggling with traffic though! How does everyone else deal with it, in particular taxis? They're killing me! I've beefed up my public transport but theres still roads clogged with busses and taxis. -
My airport once had a wait time of 18,000 minutes, which translates neatly to 12 and a half days. My airport yesterday had a wait time of over 20,000 minutes!!
