Wow, I have not been reading your CJ in 4 days and already well behind. Great Job on Darmoklia with the bridge over the basin. Love the sunken highways. I have to admit I can only look in awe at your CJ [:0] Thanks for the various tips. I did not know that the order of directories can have a direct effect on the game. My game frequentlyy crashes (running under XP with 1.5 GB internal memory (I thought memory was the big problem and memory is nowadays very cheap: 100 MB for 10 euro)) so I will change the names of NAM (also to AAA NAM) directory and clean the directories a bit. Keep the good work up.

Great update Jeronij. I love the details such as the crossway and the parks (I'm a parkfreak) Keep the good work coming!

Nice to see a different Columbia River. Try to minimize the squared areas. As for the slums.... well slums are not so bad. They're just a breeding ground.
-
Wow Aleking. Nice use of Bats such as the escort service, Lappers and Peg's alleys. It makes your ghetto look very natural. I will have a look on your CJ.[:0]

Some time in prison? Well, at least you've got the right feeling for the militaristic installations for sure. But let us not confuse RL with SC4. Rodina is Great. I love your storyline and originality. Keep more updates coming!

Love it, SHadow Asassin! I get the feeling of a deja Vue. Did I miss something? Did you start a new CJ as the old one was too big or something? Titanium Grove is excellent in its simplicity. Well, anyway keep up the good work.

Very Nice rural pictures. Darmoklia is beatiful, the bears love it and there's pretty much salmon in the streams (wonder how they can climb the steep falls). I noticed that the end of the waterways is made into some sort of basin, to store the water during drought periods? Maybe some aquaducts could come in handy ( https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=11213 ). Keep the good work up!

Car and Ferry Terminal
Nik-nik replied to estates to the real's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Summarizing: The bridge does not decrease the ferry traffic. The subway does not decrease ferry traffic. I asume that the ferry traffic is well paid for, i.e. not for free (I have never used ferries in my city as I do not have water). One solution only: build more Ferry ports, upto 16 are allowed I believe. STEX has no additional Ferry terminals if you type in Ferry. -
Yesterday I was realy nice working on getting a ghetto of the ground in a corner of my city. Some 2400 Resident buildings were rising (I have the Dutch version so I do not know the english names). So I placed a fenced playpark between them. You know the kind of parks you see in NYPD or (older TV) Hillstreet Blues. When suddenly my nice ugly highrises turned into medium sized R$$ tower blocks and horrror (chills run through my spine) a R$$$ right next to the playpark. Grumble, forgot to make the R$ highrises historical. What I am trying to say that Simcity4 runs sometimes games with you. When you plan on making a ghetto, none get of the ground and when you plan to make a nice R$$$ area, it turns into a R$ ghetto. I'll post some pictures soon (when I find the time)

Wow, finally I am at page 13. What a great CJ! Although I have to say I miss the green and pleasant feeling that I would normally get when looking at pictures from England. But for the rest it just reminds me exactly of how England looks. You have managed to grab the feeling from Englands towns sucha s Bath, Middlesbourough and Hemel Hempstead quite well. Keep the good work up! PS. where did you get the arcade from?

I LOVE IT. I thought I was crazy with parks, but I have found my master! Maybe we should start a action group: More Parks in SC4 (come to think of it...naah!)

Gosh everytime I look at the Journal of Columbia City, it has grown by some pages. Great work Jeronij! The waterfalls are great! I also started to play with them in my city (someday I will make a CJ as well). As you are a perfectionist I like to point out the following. In Darmoklia the stream ends in a lake. Beatifull lake that is. However, from the waterfalls the water keep on flowing, this will mean that sooner or later the lake will overflow or the water seeps through the sands to the lowest level. This will probably be the low area right of the road in the last picture of Darmoklia on page 87. Anyway, I have not read through, but if you're planning to build something in the lowland area in Darmoklia, make sure the grounds are thouroughly irrigated. Maybe some windmills from STEX ( https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=2293 ) can help you out here (I am from Holland so there is my love for windmills), there is also a nice irrigation set available on STEX https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=11103 But you will probably know them already. Keep the good work up [EDIT] HAPPY 36 [EDIT 2] Teardrawing beatifull the Mosaics [EDIT 3] SC4 Mosaic Master Jeronij

Wow, Frogface you are a master! How lovely you have made the small towns and I like the moors. They have such a natural feeling, even with the radiotowers. One thing. You have a serious garbage problem. litter on the streets almost in every picture. I have to say I am at page 1 now

Hi Schmuck, Nice work, to avoid the small dotted lines apearing on Oppies canals you need to make the ground very even. Now, this can be done in God or Major mode, but if you are not short of cash it is much easier by using the railroad tracks to level the area for you. Jeronij had this tip in one of his pages and it is working great. Keep up the good work.

Jeronij, I love your beaches! No one talks about your beaches, but they are superb. The only thing I would recommend is to make them a little bit more lively with some 1x1 lots with small beach cabins a volleyball field and maybe a beach bar (you're living on one of the Spanish isles you should probably know what I am talking about). Unfortunatelly I can only suggest this as my computer skills stopped developping somewhere while learning BASIC (indeed about 20 years ago). Keep the CJ Updates comming GREAT

Holy Crap! I thought this game was about avoiding traffic jams. Ha, ha, ha, I love them (in your cities that is, in real life it's something else).

How can i make bridges over roads
Nik-nik replied to Eastwinn's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Author: mambomumba If you don't want to use the NAM (which is best alternative) you can also download Marrast EyeCandy Underpasses AS IS ver. 0.2 . But be careful and read the description. There's a trouble with the civic cars if I remember it correct. I use them anyway. quote> MAMBOMUMBA does the Marrast Underpass not affect the shortest commute way? I have several plaed around my cities and this seem to be going on. What is your (and others) experience? -
Are there any negitive effects associated w/ Air Force and Army bases?
Nik-nik replied to htmlishard's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Aha Congeo, that is a good tip. I normally do nota ccept bthe base as I think 2 in my region are enough. But come to think of it it might be usefull after all. I will keep on experimenting. -
Wonderful use of PEG's fisherman's harbor. i also like the use of the German houses. It looks very tranquil / rural. Do you have a CJ ready? Nik-Nik

WOW, I am at page 85 at last. It took me all the spare moments between my work, just to read and admire your work. 2 things: 1 at picture 82.09 why not a double track leading of the map? This double to one just before the maps' end looks so much cramed (is that English?). 2 82.11 the fishermans village is developing, but I see a highrise. I would suggest to destroy that one untill a mediteranian house develops. It would look much better when the houses are of the same type. Another general question why is it that the mediteranian houses and Oppies Amsterdam buildings seem to develop much easier than other resedantials? Keep up the good work! Nik-Nik

Wow, only a few days not on the web (my PC crashed, well actually my 3 year's old son hit the on/off switch while in the middle of loading, now XP won't start anymore, so I am at work following your CJ) and I have already missed so much. I love Costa Transmutana especially the petroleum harbour area! Great work. I also love what you did with the airport. I never new Joerg's work. I will download as soon as I have my PC operational again. I am currently at page 80. So I will probably edit this post a couple of times before I am at the end (or post a new message). Keep up the great work! PS. Do not forget to sleep at night as well.
