Very good effort here, its a cracking building, thank you for sharing :)
  2. SimFox Chiao TianMen Dark Nite Version

finally a good stex upload, the lobby is fantastic, I love it.
  3. Mntoes - UK housing project

These are fantastic, the new layout of the edge props works really well, the new properties look just as polished too.

ooh, nice to see some interest in the project so early! I'd welcome any input you have on the rear of the building Crackdtoothgrin. I've seen some fan-made plans that show things like an outdoor cafe, an entrance at the rear that leads to Hammonds bungalow (aparrently he had one in the book?), and a side stairway on the left that leads to a staff-only entrance, but going by yours and Jasoncw's comments, the outdoor cafe wouldnt really work would it? Thank you for pointing out the recessed roof, its been added along with the railings, and I'll deffinately add the horizontal ridge once I finish touching up the new additions. Once I'm happy with it, I think it would be best to post a comparison of the building with and without the additional front windows. I'll use your opinions from there to continue on to the next phase Edit: Hello again, here is the comparison, which do you prefer? In the meantime, I'll begin working on the side rotundas, I 'm thinking of adding either doors to them to access the roof, or maybe iron ladders from ground level.. maybe even both! Edit #2 More wip; the rotundas have been tidied up (the central one now overhangs the front, doorways and windows added, some further tweaking done to the two smaller ones), and I've begun working on the rear. Its based on the fact that in the film there are a set of double doors at the rear of the main lobby that (I guess) lead to the dining area, so I've put that in, and fortified it using ideas gained from looking at the raptor pen and utility sheds. Lots of electrical fencing! What do you think?
  5. If anyone could do a map of the fictional Isla Nublar island from the Jurassic Park film I'd love it.. Ideally only the size of a large city. Theres a pic of it here: Cheers to anyone who takes this on!
  6. GKBI TOWER

I love it, very well done :)
  7. Hexys work in progress

Time for something a bit random again... The Visitor Centre from Jurassic Park. Someones bound to want one! Early wip here: I'll be improvising the back and sides as they are never really shown much in the film, and I've added an extra pair of windows to the front (otherwise there is an awful lot of bare concrete). I might model the gate aswell as a prop for the lot.. and maybe try and find some nice open source dino models to import I'll update further once some real headway has been made. HeXy
  8. Industrial complex lots (I-D)

excellent work once again, thank you! :)
  9. Industrial manufacturers lots (I-M)

I love 'em, great work :)
  10. Dempseys Irish Bar HD

Thank you everyone, I hope you enjoy using it, its been a great challenge to build. Frankly I am baffled at the rating this has received with such great comments. I guess some people have been abusing point 5 of the stex code of conduct just to spite me? If someone has a problem with the building, at least tell me what it is! Not to worry, its time for a pint in the real thing! :)
  11. Hexys work in progress

Thank you very much everybody, after some final lighting tweaks and some lotting and exemplar editing, its ready to go, just in time for the Ireland V Wales rugby international on the weekend! Dempseys should be making its stex debut shortly. Cheers again!

Hello again The models been game-scaled and tweaked with your comments taken on board, flags added, and the smoking area/beer garden added to the rear. Zoom 5 renders look like this: It fits on a 1x2 lot quite nicely. Any further suggestions for it would be most appriciated HeXy
  13. Hexys work in progress

Hello all, and thank you for your valued feedback! Spike345: I'm hoping to get it to fit on 1 tile, currently its a tiny bit wide. madhatter106/Jasoncw: Its not to scale yet - I like to model above scale and shrink it to fit the game once I'm happy with it. Its a nasty habit! thingfishs/Jasoncw: Your comments on the lighting have been extremely valuable, I've lowered the intensity and added a yellowy tinge to them, its looking a lot better. Thank you for pointing out the roof edges too, they are a little wide and will be thinned out. Once its been tweaked further, I will post a new pic Cheers again, HeXy

Hello all Texturing and some final tweaking of the model has commenced Please let me know what you think of it so far, particularly the current lighting: I still need to light the windows and build the rear smoking area, but fingers crossed I'll have it ready for release by the end of next week
  15. Mole Antonelliana

fabulous, thank you very much for sharing it with us :)
  16. Hexys work in progress

Thank you SimHoTToDDy and mightygoose, its great to know somebody who actually knows the pub The model has come along quite well, the flags are missing from the front at the moment, I'm not sure how to tackle them just yet (but they will be added). Here is how its looking: With any luck, I'll have time to begin texturing it soon
  17. Hexys work in progress

Thank you mntoes & Spike345 I'm hoping it will be diverse enough to sit in city centres and perhaps smaller towns aswell I havent had as much time to work on it this week, but its coming along, perhaps 60% of the model is done, currently looking something like this:

Thank you all I figured the lot wouldnt be to everyones taste, but my girlfriend loved it (I built it for her above all else). Anyway, onwards... next in line is one of my old haunts in the city centre of Cardiff, Dempseys Irish Bar. The real thing only has 2 street-facing sides, so I will probably improvise the other two, maybe add a beer garden or something at the rear. Pics of the pub and a very early wip here:
  19. Flat Holm Lighthouse

    Version 1.0

    2,268 Downloads

Located 5 miles off the coast from Barry, South Wales, UK, Flat Holms lighthouse was built in 1737, it was fully automated in 1988. Also Marconi transmitted the first wireless signal over water from here to Lavernock a few miles up the coast. This BAT contains 2 editions, one with its solar panels making it self-sustaining (requires no external power), and one without them (as requested by TWrecks). Must be built on land, each version costs $5000 to plop with no maintenance cost, and both can be found in the landmarks menu. No dependencies required.
  20. Hexys work in progress

Since there seem to be no complaints about the roof (yay!), I've gone on to the lotting and exemplar editing, and will publish the project later this afternoon. The download will contain 2 editions, one with solar panels that requires no external power source, and one without the panels (that does require external power). The first one is pictured below, I hope you like it!

The model is almost complete, just a couple of changes needed in the doorway widths and a few more textural modifications. Its been scaled to the game now so its a little smaller than the previous screenshots.. my main reason for posting this update is the roof texture.. do you think it fits the model well? Or should it be made greyer? Any other comments also greatly received!
  22. Mntoes - UK housing project

These houses are wonderful, I'm really looking forward to their release, great effort
  23. Hexys work in progress

Here is the latest model, still untextured but taking shape I think:
  24. Hexys work in progress

well, considering the model hasnt got that far yet I will certainly consider it, the biggest problem I have is the lack of a high resolution image of the roof, and I was relying on the solar panels to provide me with the diversity that that particular piece of roof will need, but I will have to move from the realism to something that is more catered to the ingame view in either case, so yes, it is not a problem for me to provide a version with and without the solar/energy output properties
  25. Hexys work in progress

Working on something a bit more down-to-earth now, something I've wanted to build for a while as its my girlfriends favourite place, the lighthouse on Flat Holm island in the Bristol Channel, UK: It is solar powered too, which I found interesting! I'll update when more significant progress has been made
