Discussion about Always-On Connection to Origin
openLumi replied to neurokirurgi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
:/ Asking for Internet connection is just ridiculous. If there will not be an offline playing option either, seems there is a trade-off. (hardcore SimCity players vs masses) I think EA wouldn't let Maxis to develop a new SimCity if they'd not find a way to monetize it. So I expect DLCs coming after game for a long time. But I don't get how modding will be. Without offline play, mods may create serious problems unless modding capabilities will not be quite limited. -

I am big fan of 'Epicentre' at mayor mode, 'Shape Shifter' at God mode. -
Hello there o/ I always fail at first sentence :/ . Ok short demographics 29 and from Turkey. Although I am a Simcity Fan and playing since 2K , I was not playing SC4 for a long while but occasionally. I already knew Simtropolis and used some mods before. But this time, I am really about SC4 itself. I had a browser game project which I am trying to mature and wondered if I could add some city building features. And voila I am here. I'll be pleased to ask your help about city building concept and content creation. If I can see the bigger picture and start project, I may even ask for graphic design job.

The only thing we install is Visual C++ 2010 Runtimes, DirectX Runtimes, and our Synekism.exe. We use GPUZ during installation but we remove it after we're done. I have no idea why you saw it install anything else. Well, it's pretty easy to make a 3D game 'look' isometric so making the game fully 3D (as suppose to just the terrain which is what SC4 does) satisfies both groups of people; those who prefer isometrics, and those who prefer full 3D. Were you requesting an isometric mode in Synekism or were you just commenting that it would have been easier to go for isometric view and focus more on gameplay? I reinstalled to see if I am wrong. You are right it doesn't install ACOS6 but installs game to <Program Files>\Advanced Card Systems Ltd\ACOS6 SDK , a tiny scripting error And for fully 3D, you can call me stubborn, old-fashioned but I don't remember any strategy game better in full 3D than it was in isometrics. Or it is me not feeling comfortable

First, good luck with project But I didn't get why it install ACOS6 SDK, is there any smartcard feature I am not aware of? And although I understand this '3D' , 'flexible', 'smooth' gameplay thing ; is it only me thinking that SC4 style isometric 3D is perfect for the task?

Just had a change to play Cities XL 2011 and all I want to say is this 2011 made game is no match for 2003 made Simcity 4 :/ I hope what I play was a joke Every strategy game leaving isometrics and implementing "3D" is getting worse but that's my opinion :/
