Discussion about Always-On Connection to Origin
feelgood replied to neurokirurgi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I don't really follow this thread. Just to share my thought. I like to try this game since I played SC3000 and SC4. However, the always online feature is a turn-off. Saving on cloud is another. Hopefully, the news (or speculation) that I could save offline on my PC and online connection for registration only are true though it may be just a wishful thinking. Anyway, I'll see it after the game is released if the game is truly deserved my money. BTW, is there a monthly maintenance fee to play the game online though you're playing offline? -
Discussion about Always-On Connection to Origin

With all this contradicting info, I still believe that solo mode will be there. We still have many months to go. I'm sure CitiesXL lessons learnt is in their attention. Not to mention our comments here. Registering online is normal now, so it should be ok. And please allow local saves. I never want to play online and only once played online on HoMM5 on duel. -
It's really sad. A game that has built my excitement after SC4 finally "goes down" - well, the company to be exact. I never thought the failure would be this bad. Honestly, I don't buy the game, not even download it as it failed to attract me after the beta. I got addicted with SC3 and SC4. There's a lesson to be learned here. Since the new announcement, I think some ex-workers found their jobs already. Good luck for the rest in this economy. It's the business people that should really take the hit! Glad we have CXL2011 with some features that we yearn for years. Gotta wait for October!

Sigh!!! Reading this thread makes me feel sad. If only MC could do the right thing the first time! It's quality principle. I know, they maybe are getting loads of money by now but we never know. I've holding buying the game until now. Maybe I should just left CXL for good, hmmm.

It looks like a good game and I would like to try the game. I don't like any online gaming but I might give Citiesxl a try. The only problem now is my PC can't support this game and I can't get a new PC until maybe next year. By then, I think, this game will be better ... or do I really that optimistic??? I still have faith in citiesxl...

Your favorite building ever built!

Petronas Twin Towers for me too. It never fails to amaze me whenever I see it... -
I've been waiting for this game for long. Alas, I can't play the demo due to DX9 card error. I have GeForce 8400 Mobile on dell XPS 1330. It should be enough. Anyone know the workaround for this? I really like tropico 1. Therefore, I look forward to this game.

Should I give the answer? Komtar, Penang, Malaysia.

Hmm, why should third world war happen? Do we have any reason for this ? And why do terrorists attack the world? What country the should be attacked if we really need to strike back now? Hmm... too many questions....

Old habits are hard to be thrown away, right. You have to start small first. Early on, sims are dumb and they need small dirty industries and commercials to work. Long enough, they will be educated enough to work elsewhere. Also, high rises need certain amount of pop before they can emerge in your city.

Well, statistic can never be exact. Sample and the whole population are two different things. I too, think most people who talk in SCS threads are anti-SCS since we always want to express our disappointment. People who like it may just go away in fear of being flame, who knows. I, for once, a bit disappointed with SCS now but still hope it turns out to be a great game.

Skyscrapers and Large R buildings
feelgood replied to Temelin's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Hmmm... you better read omnibus. Lots of great articles there. Just remember, SC4 has stages and cap. Each stage need some amount of pop; 35000 pop for residential stage 8 IIRC. You need ameneties to increase cap. -

I`ve once achieved near 700K in one city. I don`t have the picture and the city itself now. It was a slum city without any high wealth buildings. -

Err... Excuse me, but I can`t find the answer for my questions ( or I don`t really understand it. I`m a $%&^! for LE). Here are my questions: 1) I modify some default lots and want it to be growables but to no avail . When I use save as, a .lot is created but no .desc or another file (forgot what it is). I know that if we want to change the number of occupants in this lot, I need to edit the .desc file. So, how do I do it? 2) Some lots that I`ve downloaded are never used (like simgoober lots) while some are not (like kinzie tower or any NDEX buildings). 3) In properties, some are listed with red circles with an X in the middle. Will this be a problem for the lot to be in the game as I know that it means the file or prop or ... is missing . I hope I can get the answer soon. Thank you in advance.
