Can't Install Sim City 4 Rush Hour On Vista

I've checked the other posts and they don't seem to help me much. Problem is that when I insert the disk on Vista, nothing happens! I go to computer and rapidly click on the drive, and after a little bit I get a message saying ???????????????????????????????????? Auto Run ????????????????????? or something like that. I have vista 64 bit. Please help. Also, I;ve installed it before, but that was awhile ago. -

How I got it to work was to be incredible persistant and keep trying various different ways to install it multiple times. Sounds ridiculous, but it worked. -
Hello all and welcome to my attempt at a CJ. Comments and suggestions are welcome, jerks are not. Scorpio Island is a moderatly sized uninhabited island 200 miles of the coast of California. Recently, a group of people who were fed up of the US bought 3 cargo ships and set sail for this island to found a new country. 3 cargo ships have set sail from San Francisco. Their destination, away from the US. The people aboard these boats were fed up with the US and the recession, and believed they could do a better job. Around a week later, an island was sighted. The charts said that this island was unnamed and uninhabited, so they decided to land. Upon landing, the leader Graham, and his closest advisors decided on a name for the island. They named it Scorpio Island, and they also decided they landed on the Graham Peninsula. The citizens immidiatly began with the construction of a lumber mill to harvest the island's huge and dense Californian Forests for materials to start building the new town. An experimental geothermal generator, invented by PEG Industries, was also brought with the group as a power supply. Scouting parties were sent out, and preliminary reports put the Graham Peninsula looking something like this: Meanwhile, the citizens were busy at work developing houses, a seaport, and stores. The citizens, who have started calling themselves "Scorpians", are off to a good start. Please post comments and suggestions. Help is appreciated greatly.

Everything you need to download is on the STEX, the link is at the top of the page. Also, I would suggest registering at SC4 Devotion if you are going to do a lot of downloading, because a lot of dependencies (things required to run a file) are there, and they have a lot of good stuff there to download too.

Just a note though, god mode trees don't reduce pollution.

As far as I know, commercial zones are the least picky, so whatever you have has to be big, maybe a nuclear meltdown spread radiation all across the map, for example. Also, try enacting commercial boosting ordinances.

There is a mod on SC4 Devotion that increases the rate garbage decomposes. It definatly helps, but shouldn't be completely depended on.

If what he said doesn't work, you can try downloading some demand mods, which will make your demand full no matter what.

At the beginning of each month, the crimes change, and if you look at the building where it is quick enough, you will see it happen. It disappears very quickly thought, and I've been able to arrest only a few people with that. It's a mini game on whack-a-crime in the game.

If you don't mind using mods, there are several demand mods that can boost demand, causing it to grow without any requirements. That way you wouldn't have to zone ANY R$. However, this doesn't mean that I-HT and I-M will pop up, they will get overlapped by the dirty still, unless you increase education. -
Did you download all the dependencies for it? If you didn't, then that might be why it's showing up as a box.

Depending on how long you want the video to be, you could try the free version of fraps from fraps.com. It can only record 30 seconds, but I'm sure it'd be much better quality.

After forever, here's another update! Welcome back! Development has really sprung now. So much, that environmentalists are worried that the sawmill might chop down more then the environment can handle, action is expected from them in the future. Note: I didn't notice those U-Drive-It icons until I had the image uploaded, so I'll make sure to watch that in the future. Beginners make mistakes, I suppose. Meanwhile, at the sawmill, they have finally managed to aquire some heavy lifting equipment from suppliers in the US. They wern't happy about it, but they had no other choice. Industry was stagnating without them. Note: (again) I accidentally took all the pictures I wanted before I realized the grid was still on, so I retook them and deleted the ones with the grid, looks like I deleted the wrong one. All the development has convinced the population that they are there to stay, so the created a more permanent residence for their leader, Graham. Further inspection of the coast line has revealed that a section close to town is very rocky, which may be a problem for the seaport nearby. The talk of the town, though, is that a delagation has arrived from the US by boat, and is currently in talks with Graham. US Delagation: So Graham, we are here to talk of peaceful reunification of you to the US, no questions asked, no punishment needed, and the control of the island ceeded to us. What do you say? Graham seems to ponder this for a moment, then responds. Graham: As long as I was in school, I was taught that the United States celebrated its many freedoms. I also remember being taught that "they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness" to quote from the Declaration of Independance. Well, this is my pursuit of happiness, and, still being a legal US citizen, forcing me back would be breaking my rights. Bottom line, I will never, ever, ever come back peacefully. Great models as always! Hey, I was wondering ever since the beginning of the CJ, what mod were you using at the beginning to make it so no R$ showed up? -
Seems like ever since I installed any content on my computer, the background of my city has turned black, sometimes even blue. Even when I (correctly) installed a background mod, same result. The specs of my computer are 2 GB RAM, Nivida GeForce 9400M G 256 MB graphics card, Duo Core Processer 2.1 GHz, Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit operating system. Help would be appriciated.

Yeah I learned my lesson, the only reason it bugs me now is for certain coustom buildings you can see the background on the ground texture, which actually is better because it only happens when the lot doesnt have the ground texture dependency, so its a blessing and a curse.

Yeah, but even when I didn't have a custom background installed (that I remember), the background was black/blue. Edit: I refuse to uninstall the mods, there's like 300 files in there. And you would not believe what it took for me to get the game to install on this computer.

@joshriddle if you were saying move the coustom backgrounds out of the subdirectory and into the main one, that didn't work, and there were 5 of them, 128x128, PNG format.

And I've got to saythis is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, have you added a justice minister for Proculita....Proculiara...Proculi gosh dangit, I can't remember the name now, because I'm interested in that position. *collapses from brain overload* REBOOT! Anyway, I wish I could be part of the AFDES but I don't have an epic CJ thats awesome like Leech and Archean and YOU. Maybe someday, since I still can't get the RHW or the cool city building. Replies: Schulmanator: Thank you. Thats a very encouraging first comment. wwetom1: Thanks, I wouldn't think it'd be that good for a first start. A week after the landing, development is really spreading. Due to the unorginized nature of the group, no organized subdivisons are popping up yet. If you can notice in the middle right of the picture, the citizens have managed to build a school to begin educating the populace. Meanwhile, the industry is really expanding by the lumber mill. As more industry moves in, the lumber has had to expand its chopping operations. Its surprising that the environmentalists haven't spoken up about this yet, I'm sure something drastic might come soon. Please post suggestions, comments, and suggestions (did I mention suggestions).
