Discussion about Always-On Connection to Origin
MattShizzle replied to neurokirurgi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I will stick to SC4 and not buy this abortion of a game. I will never buy a game that requires spyware/malware/trojans such as Origin or any game that requires an internet connection. Sounds like EA wants to win the worst company in America award again. This was defintely an epic fail. We can only hope the monstrosity that is EA goes out of business and someone else makes it. -
Which one do you find most annoying (without mods?) I think the financial because that part of the game is so difficult and she won't leave you alone. 2nd would be traffic because that part of the game is nearly impossible without NAM. 3rd would be City Planner because of all the stupid messages - like "you're the king of gifts" or whatever and he expects you to place every sort of zone in every city. So what do you think? Please vote and reply!

What Happened to SC4Devotion/BSC exchange?
MattShizzle posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Went to look there and it's one of those squatter sites instead of what it was. Anyone know? -
What Happened to SC4Devotion/BSC exchange?

I use Comcast - and since it's a high-end provider I would think they refresh more - and still the squatter site. -

Bernville (near Reading), PA - squatter site I said before. -
What Happened to SC4Devotion/BSC exchange?

Glad to see it's just temporary. A few sites I used to go to were replaced by those stupid squatters and stayed that way. -

It shows up when you google it but if you click the link it's the squatter. -

For me it's a bunch of links about vacations and stuff in Maine for the exchange and music stuff for the forums. -

Huh I just got an email this was moved. I must have posted in it and it must have been months ago.

I'm the one who asked over there but they didn't reply to my question as to how you do that. I'm not very computer literate at all.

Doesn't that leave much of the city radioactive and prevent future development?

There's the "obliterate city" butten in God mode.

My old computer died Wednesday. I tried installing Sim City 4 on my new computer but it won't even start. I tried clicking on everything but nothing works. It seems to not be compatible.

Can't Install in Windows 7
MattShizzle replied to MattShizzle's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I figured it out. I was puting in disk 2 instead of 1. Unfortunately, all my old stuff was lost and I don't feel like tracking down all the mods, etc. I really don't want to play the unmodified game, either. -
Can't Install in Windows 7
MattShizzle replied to MattShizzle's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I can't even get it to start installing. BTW most of my other games when I tried installing them them I got something called a "1607 script error" but when I put the simcity4 game disk in to start installing literally nothing happened including when clicking on it. -

WIndows 7. I have no idea about the rest. I'm one of the least computer literate people on the planet. -
Sorry I know this was a thread before but I couldn't find it - much appreciated if a mod could merge this to that one. I am not one who can make stuff but the idea interested me enough to look into it. No way it is possible. Doing so would require a region using approximately 1200 large city tiles wide by 640 large city tiles high. Of course this could be reduced by cutting out the regions that were entirely ocean or within Canada or Mexico, but would still be huge. Without cutting out those areas it would encompass approximately 768,000 large city tiles. Likely you would need a supercomputer to handle this. It was an interseting idea to look into though. Also note I didn't include Alaska, Hawaii or US territories.

Jasoncw - the internet started in the 1990s. It was around when I was in college.

I actually have a CD that has most of the Atari-made games for the 2600 and quite a few of the arcade games too. Also have ones for the Midway and Namco arcade games of the time and the Activision ones for the 2600.

I turn 36 on Jan 8 (Oh man, I'm closer to 40 than 30! ) I'm still not really used to the year starting with a "2" rather than a "19." When I was a kid - arcades had games that would be very small files on a modern home computer - heck early in childhood the arcade games they had were less sophisticated than games on modern cell phones and there weren't many video games (I'm talking say 1983 and earlier) - arcades were half pinball machines and air hockey tables. I had an Atari 2600 as a young kid. Google it.

You pretty much have to teach evolution if you want to teach biology at all. Teaching Biology without evolution would be like teaching Math without teaching multiplication or division. We also know the Bible was first made into one book in the 4th century in what is now Western Turkey. We have enough ancient manuscripts to know at least what it said about that time. I'm an atheist and personally see it as nonsense.

"Microevolution" and "Macroevolution" aren't even scientific terms - they were created by creationists. It certainly shouldn't be taught in a Biology class for the same reason Astrology isn't taught in Astronomy classes, Alchemy in Chemistry classes and that we don't teach the "Stork" idea to future OBGYN's. Richard Dawkins pointed out once the error in saying the Earth is about 6000 years old is in scale about equivalent to saying New York is located 15 inches from Los Angeles. Why a modern person would believe such nonsense is shocking. Images removed
