  1. Bigger Tiles

You can build on the entire border zone, it's just the actual zone is offset. Umm, so, the space you've "lost" on the south and west, is continued on past the border, (as part of the city,) on the north and east side. Cities can be up to 2*2 (4x) as big actually. I'm not sure about zoning past there, although zoning... is frankly not a good idea outside the border. Also all the "city data" is represented on the normal city plot, and represents exactly your entire building space. Umm, I hope the description gets updated so they mention that.. It's rather confusing those 2 concepts to most players, (as I was at first.) - Er, don't take my word for any of that, though.. I'm still pretty new to the mod
  2. These city sizes are incredible. Just incredible. You just... don't run out of space... like ever. Not really anything fancy, just a city I've worked on how I usually play Simcity. Simulation seems rather incredible at this scale...
  3. Project Orion - 3k Extended Boundary

Er, (love this mod a lot,) but I have a big city, and I'm trying to finish adding another section to it with roads, but my game keeps crashing when I place roads now? (I'm using a lot of other mods as well...)
  4. "Fudged" population discussion

The fudged population doesn't do anything. It doesn't "change" the simulation or anything, it just displays your population as a different number. Parks are a huge money sink, and high wealth pay terrible taxes, (basically the same as low wealth, because less move into their buildings) ... that needs to be balanced a lot.

  6. A very long time ago...

The Ambition's Development- January Edition. The fight for a bridge because of the regions beside this new area, was finally realized, as the rail bridge was already there. People used the bridge, luckily: Soon development began there, and people flocked to the city: Overpasses are needed, and are made, with shops and bussinesses popping up next to them: 2 roundabouts, center points of the city: The main avenue; the center of traffic. The city from afar: And the rail across the river: Mainy years lay before this region. Areas around it will grow and soon the suburbs will stretch across kilometres. Farms will appear, and most of all, it will be in order. Thankyou for reading the City Times ______________________________________________________________________________________ Or so they thought it would be in order... -Written by me, one hundred years after this was printed.
  7. NAM Traffic Subsystem

Man, I have trouble even thinking of an idea that could make this game better with you guys!
  8. I really don't go for metropolises much... but I made a city, with one diagonal avenue that had less than the road capacity on it. Before I added a subway, I had 50,000 people commuting on a single lane road... and you guessed it! The way I did it was making a monorail to the industry, which surprisingly is on a hill. And then it slowly developed... but, you won't guess how it got started. In another area I had the industry, and then residential. In the residential, I made it a garbage city, where my supply of low wealth came from. After I had built the city, demands were nearly all max, that I made cities next to it and they developed high rises too! Anyways, I had the garbage city, residential, and industry. But I wanted something else. So I made a city next to it which began with some industry and water and power and a monorail connecting to where I started residential development. Later, it simply grew, grew, grew, 10 times the hospitals you'd need in a rural area, and these were big ones, but really only getting medical care to people less than 3 blocks away. I added the subway when I had the 50,000 cars on one road, thats when I got a on road subway/bus mod... I had tons of people taking the bus. Tons of people taking the subway. Tons of people taking the monorail. And then, because I never thought it was that hard to do it, I simply deleted, not even knowing that this could of became a very, very large city.
  9. The beginning

As I say in the start, EVERYTHING I do is not based on real life, but what I think I would like for this CJ. Because, after all, do we have to go back to reality? Does everything have to be real? Does rating matter on realism? Okay, this is a new CJ... my last city journal, I had no water or terrian mods. I had the grid on for the first 2 updates. I lacked detail. This time around, I still have nearly 99% maxis RCI buildings, but, I'll try to pay more attention detail. This first update is very short, but like my last CJ, it'll grow in the same way. I'm going to incorporate things in different ways than they are supposed to be used... by the way. Okay, before I start... El vel means we are in a langauge, (NOT A REAL LANGUAGE). Combined, like most phrases it adds together to the end. So if it meant this is, and you said Elvel it would mean this is together. Elvel means we are together. A modifaction to the language by the Elvret society, said adding an l at the end adds strong or hard or definentely. Elvell comes into play to mean: We are together and strong. As there is no ands in this lanuage it would ACTUALLY translate to 'We are together, strong.' Such a short word, meaning something so long... Anyways, what would become a metropolis had to start with the tiniest of things. A man named Bobby was travelling to his new area of work. Cutting down trees for new development. He had been to an already updated version of the ferry service and was already at his home... His job was at #3 cutting area: Larger image: After the area was cut down: The whole area cut down, areas #1-3, ready for development: Area #5 to cut down, (next to industry) Areas #1-3 roads: Area 5 cut down and developed: There is demand for lumber. There is a demand for agriculture. Area #7 will become a farm after it is cut down. The area of trees have been cut down, and it is now ready for agriculture development. Farm developed: The new industry and farm brings on residential demand which then follows through to commercial demand. This area is now officially going to become a village! Shops: New paved area at popular demand: Development area #10 is created... for a new farm because of increasing lumber and agriculture demand. And a city shot with both the farms, the industry, the shops and the houses: Please comment and rate... and in the next update there will be much more to see... and a night shot, .
  10. Dataviews: Increased Detail Mod v1.0

I think people just took it and left
  11. My car is a gray box

Absolutely correct, GlobexCo. Every single computer that my extended family owns has the Intel® 965 Express Chipset, (I think that is what its called), except a few, which have older ones. And now, I can only run the game on Low. 3D Trees infront of me but beyond, 2d. Middle road line blurs out(!) Buildings are good, go back a little, and then horrible graphics; the EXACT same graphics going back about 40 building spots. Like, I don't want the same graphics I see from 5000metres away to be the same as 100metres away. On the other hand, I get to see half 2D bad graphics trees, half 3D good graphics. Low graphics setting is messed up. If you are on zoom 4, change time of day to night and it looks better.
  12. Your Biggest City???

I just started, (I wish there was mountains in the background, I ended up photoshoping one of my screenshots with poor results.), and I've managed 60k, but starting to lose my 4million C$.
  13. RHW Hazard Sign Pack 1.0: Lane Ends

I give it 3 10/10's, as I'm glad you didn't put it in the "Other Traffic", because I took 5 minutes finding "Subway"! Love the idea, love the sign, love it!
  14. What Is your Playing Style?

I ignore advisors- "Its my city, not yours!" I start with a good old coal power plant and lower the funding, (I don't care if its years it'll work goes down, as I'll be demolishing it later.) I create a very large area of dense industry and place it in a medium sized city. I sell water from my res city which is basically all res and then in a large city above both of those cities I have res and commericial. Usually. I WANT to start from the middle, with agriculture, and then, agriculture is pushed in as the suburbs come then the metropolis! *sigh* I'm on my 47th attempt. (Can't figure out where to place the dirty and manufacturing industry.) I add a water PUMP when my budget allows it but I keep to low density. I start to build avenues and roads, and highways for good transit, before the medium density comes in. (Now) I'm very good with demolishing: R$ Low density ID Medium and high density IM Medium desity IA R$$ Low density R$ Medium desity CS$ Low density CS$$ Low density CS$ Medium density I'm okay with demolishing: R$$$ Low density IHT medium density IM high density R$$ medium density R$$$ medium density R$ high density CS$ high density, (there isn't really and high density for CS?) CS$$ medium density CS$$ high density CO$$ low density CO$$$ low density CO$$ medium density CO$$$ medium density I'm bad with demolishing: R$$ high density R$$$ high density CO$$ high density CO$$$ high density IHT high density
