  2. Okay... started with a fresh install, no mods whatsoever and still having issues. I have lost my patience with this. It has been years spent waiting patiently to figure this out. I love the SimCity games, but this is ridiculous. I've not talked to any other person who has had these kinds of issues. Any one have any outside of the box ideas?

  4. Yes these issues have been across several machines over the years. The CDs are clean, in fact, there have been several installation disks over the years. Originally an SC4, then SC4 + RH addon, and then SC4 Deluxe. UPDATE: Now I have reinstalled and using only NAM. I still have to ALT TAB or Windows Key out during splash screen then ALT TAB back in to do anything. So far, only one minor city seems to be okay. Will update more as the cities grow. Almost feel like doing a CJ but for the bugs...
  5. I have more than ample specs to run this game... in fact, I've been playing it across several computers since 2004. I have tried hardware vs software rendering, low resolution vs high, 16 bit vs 32 bit, sound off vs sound on, plugins vs no plugins... and I get the same results... Finally, after years of getting frustrated and putting the game away for months on end... I am pleading for help. Let me walk you through my normal SC4 game experience. Launch... opening sequence plays... oooo pretty terraforming and such... hit a key to skip it. No? Click mouse? No? -- Alt Tab (or WinKey) to desktop and Alt Tab back in, then I can skip the intro. Not cool. At Region View, ah so nice. No problems here. Load a city or start a new one, doesn't matter... Background music is choppy, so I play with it turned off. Scroll is sporadic... and soon ambient sounds become choppy, too. This signals a crash very soon... so I save the city. (By soon, I mean about 10 min of gameplay on a new city, or instantly on a developed one.) I've tweaked settings, played on Windows 98, 2000 and now XP; various graphics cards (now GeForce 8 series); 3 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM currently; I am at my wits end. I =love= SimCity and have played since Classic. I don't want to finally give up and move on to something else, but I'm getting to that point. Please, please, please does anyone have any input on this? (And for Pete's sake, if anyone suggests uninstall/reinstall, I will curse your cities with unlimited meteor strikes! LOL Of course, I've done that, many, MANY times!) Thanks ahead of time for input! Tom aka MagentaMagic

    I think it needs a "box station" at the base, where the technicians work on whatever it is that makes the cell networks work! :) Otherwise, a solid 4 stars from me, even though I won't use this in my cities. Great work.
