    Wont be pretty in EA's offices. Think about the public outrage when Blizzard's servers couldn't stand the heat of the largest game launch in history on Diablo 3. There were court cases everywhere and their offices were even raided in Korea.
  2. Theoretically, yes, they could do it. Originally a lot of the game's processing was supposed to be done on EA's servers, allowing for basically Tropico on a much much grander scale (As Tropico is currently heavily handicapped by processing power, most rigs are lucky to reach a population of 1500 because of the level of detail with each citizen) but the fact it can go for short times offline suggests it is, in fact, being done on your own machine. Now.. It is EA Games. There is a reason they have been slipping slowly but surely. Steam came around and showed that people are willing to tolerate online requirements. EA expanded upon it, step by step. Then, having seen the success of other required online games (See: Diablo 3), they decided to go for it. EA may have pushed their followers just a little too far (I feel Blizzard can still abuse their followers just a little more before it will truly backfire). Chances are, if things don't stabilize and the plummeting reviews continue, they will go the SC Societies route and just pretend it never happened.

    So a long time ago I evidently downloaded a snow mod. Well, I need to get rid of it. I just started playing SC4 again. The mod puts snow on mountain tops and it changes as the calender months move along. Well, every time it updates it lags my game. I do not know what it is. Any ideas as to what mod it is would be helpful so I can find and remove it. Let's just move all these here... -CaptCity

    First: I love the lack of dependencies. I always dislike when I have to spend an extra 20 minutes making sure I have each of the dependencies and then another 20 trying to find the ones I don't have. Second: Needs a landmark/ploppable version. Looks awesome though.

    Hey Genius (Steele.brennan) I regret to inform you but guess what, you can't modify the data on the CD! Unless you cracked the CD, your computer cannot touch the data. The silver back on the CD almost always implies high levels of protection. A lot of times you have to take a great deal of care to break CD. I doubt the game went through all that care over it.

    I didnt test whether or not it was interfering with passenger trains, but freight trains could not pass through it. I couldn't understand why none of my industry was developing. :P

    I tried it on my own game and the trains could not go through it.... Am I missing something or is it the lot itself? Not criticizing, just making sure.

    for some reason I get the weird purple background images for a ground... Is there a dependency on another of your files or something?

    This thing is awesome and has really helped me out. My fingers were getting tired of holding shift and trying to repeat money codes whenever I was just out of reach of something. Umm.... How come the money shows up as expenses though?
