To be honest, with everyone always online with cellphone, on computers, on facebook, using cloud to save and share personnal data, using skype a lot, or whatever, I have trouble to understand why there's many people complaining about "online connection required" to play a videogame. It's a good way to block illegal copies, so it's a very good reason to do that for developper. And, the most popular PC games like WoW, LoL, CoD, etc are online games. But, who really have a computer without any internet connection here? I live in Canada, my country is SO big, and I don't remember when I've been on an offline PC. The speed is not the fastest trust me and the price is very high... Internet is working 99.9% of the time here. For me, a computer without an internet connection, its useless. We are not in 90s anymore no? At same time, it's weird to talk about "no internet connection" on a forum... I hope you are not using your school or office network to be able to come here! Yes, you have to deal with maintenance once a while, usually in the morning, but its a cheap price to received free patchs no? But, I never said I liked Origin! I hate that software!

I will buy if I can play without installing Origin. Otherwise, I'm not going to buy it...

I have CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2, Dual Core 4200 (2CPUs), ~2.2Ghz MB: M2N-Asus VIDEO : ATI X1950XTX Pro, 512Mo RAM: 4Ghz of dual Channel 800mhz Kingston. With Vista Ultimate 32bits, SATA HD, etc.. The beta was running very bad with my computer, very slow, I was able to play 10minutes and after it was terrible. Do you guys have an idea of what I could change? My cpu/mb?, or my videocard? or both?

I think we wont see a SC5 only because the original Maxis team is gone... EA don't know how to make good games
