The Craziest Interchanges from Your Country/State
spinecharmer replied to MandelSoft's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
This is Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia, Pa. I know it's not really a interchange/intersection but the road is ridiculous. Depending where on the road you are at, it is 8-12 lanes wide(4-6 in each direction). The thing is, it is divided up in SC4 terms, as the express highway, but it doesn't operate like one. So it has medians dividing the road into quarters, but it still has traffic lights, not on/off ramps. It is pure chaos. Here is a simple diagram. Also, you can see there are little ramps to get to the different sections of the road in case you need to make a right or left turn, or one section seems to be going faster than the other... <-<-<-<- ------------ <-<-<-<- ----------- ->->->-> ----------- ->->->-> Here is the google maps link: http://maps.google.c...016512&t=h&z=17 -
Still haven't quite got a hold of the new StEx, but I know Dirk made a "block all maxis building" mod. Maybe someone can find the link and post it here for you though.

Map of Madisonville streets

Exactly, it wasn't meant as insult, but an exclamation that they would actually set the surrounding buildings on fire... -

Easier Way of Taking Region Photos?
spinecharmer replied to Arvendragon's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
When in region view, just take an image of the screen. I don't bother with any of SC4's photomode... -

So, I had my cowboy hat on, and ready to sing Wild Wild West by Will Smith, and you take us back to Africa... Hmmm, oh well, still a beautiful city! -

Marsh, I just now caught up with this CJ(s), and will have to go catch up with the others... I have been out of the game, and off the site for some time now, but you have come a long way from the beginnings of the Everglades!! ;) Also thanks for uploading CGS's city here too, he truly was an inspiration! Anyways, I am looking forward to the wild west now. Keep up the good work man! :tu: -

I would imagine these are mostly all plopped. What I am curious about is those dirt tracks. Not the Peg gravel, but the actual tracks...

It's kind of ironic that after CSG pulls both of his CJs off Simtropolis, both of ours have problems.... Coincidence??? I think not.... -

Oh crap, sorry for the double post... but I too would recommend Peg's Mayor mode trees and Cycledogg's God Mode and Mayor Mode trees. Just make sure you read the Read Me's first... -

Just use the 'print screen' function. I can't remember what shorcut is for a PC though.... ctl+shift+S maybe.... If you have a Mac it's Apple + shift + 3. -

Dude, sorry to hear about your city... Looks like you did a pretty good job of recreating it though. Even the covered bridge is still there. -
Load Region should be in the upper left hand corner in the region view of the game. There will be three tabs up at the top the on the left is "region view options" it looks like a map or something...

As far as the traffic goes, have you tried to going into the graphics settings and setting it so you can see traffic from a farther out zoom?? I forget what it actually says in the game, but it is somewhere along those lines. If you have it set to the highest setting, you should be able to see the traffic when zoomed out. As far as the graphics glitch, I too have that problem and have no idea how to fix it...

Anterage Mining Co.
spinecharmer commented on _marsh_'s City Journal Entry in Everglade Maine; Natural Growth
In all actuality, the sites are fairly even in distance as the crow flies. Also with site 2 being almost directly north of the river that flows into bay, there is a nice little valley that could pose a great threat of dirty runoff from the site straight into the river and therefore in the bay. As far as the environmentalists sponsoring a rail line; most groups of that nature are just protestors and don't really have any fundings, especially something with that big of an undertaking. We are going to harm the wildlife in either site, why should the forest wildlife be considred more sacred than the prairie lands. In all actuallity, both sites will eventually be exposed. Why not start with site 1, get your feet planted, then move to site 2 and then acess will already be partially set up for site 2. -

Are both sites estimated to yield the same amount of product? If so, we have to go with site 1 for greater profitability. What's the point of a business venture if it's not going to yield a profit?? As far as deforestation goes, promise to plant trees around the site and donate money to a clean air act or some other environmental cause. We can turn it around to be the good guys by helping out the community of the greater Everglades area... As far as I can tell, the region does not have any rail lines, or any mass transportation for that matter. Our rail lines will be the first and therefore the money saved from using site 1 instead of 2 could be used to help get a passenger rail line going as well which will in turn alleviate congestion as well reduce air pollution which will in turn help the environment out as well as the people of the area. -
