  1. Hey, I have played SC4 for many years now but only recently the problem below has started happening. My computer is:- AMD Athlon 2000+ (1.7GHz) 512mb RAM GEForce4 graphics card (above image on hardware rendering mode) In software rendering, the repeated image only appears outside city boundaries and occasionally inside. When g is pressed it fixes the problem but i happens every time I move the frame so it becomes very annoying. Help would be much appreciated. rustawilliams

    I re-installed directx9.0c but still the registry etc is still missing or damaged (see above) and the problem is still there. How can I fix my networking software??

The registry information for the service provider 'DirectPlay8 Serial Service Provider' is missing or damaged. these are the problems with directX9.0c Other high-graphics games??? That'll be blasphemy wouldn't it. Sorry, dont have any others, not much of a gamer.

    My virtual memory was already at 1500,3000 and changing it to 1536,2048 didn't stop it happening.

    Nice work. Textures may look a bit dark but it still looks awesome. I like its proximity to the Sky Tower on your pic, very realistic. I didnt realise ti was all residential. Oh well. Nice work!!
  8. I know the MOD squad has a lot to do at the moment so I am asking for help on how to do this idea but if anyone has free time I will be happy to help them do it as I have never modded before. I was thinking that the numbers of residents in low-density buildings is much too high eg. a 2 story house has 12 residents which means 11 bedrooms which is completely ridiculous. I also noticed when creating my home city I got 200,000 residents rather than the 50,000 in real life which leads me to think that all low-density housing should be divided by three at least. This would make the 12 residents, 4 meaning a much more realistic 3 bedroom home. I already know what I have to do (thanks sam). I have to change the properties of the building exemplars maxis has made. Now, this makes absolutely no sense to me so after I have d/l reader I will read tutorials which links to would be much appreciated. I will only do this if there is enough interest from the community so posts will be good. Thanks in advance for any help rustawilliams

  10. 3D Studio Max BAT Version 2 Released !!

    I have only just started using this program but I dont seem to be able to change the rendered model into a .SC4Model. Once the render is done I press FSH Batch Build and the MS-DOS window comes up and I cant see anything it does, but when I press DAT FSH Insert, it says that this is done after the FSH Batch Build after Exporting. I tried doing it manually but when I try to do the FSH Batch Build manually by double clicking the MS-DOS program named after the LOD SC4Model, the MS-DOS goes really fast and when I stop it it says it cant find the input file in the Output File folder. Can anyone help me with this problem and how do you change the fshtool's settings? Thanks to anyone that helps, rusta EDIT: I am using 3DSMAX 7 with a 3DSBAT a few months old. If I try to run CMD manually it says parameters are missing.

    I suggest adding a UVW map under modifiers for both problems and choosing planar. This should work for the second one but the first I am not too sure. rusta

    Nice region, the outsides of the cities could be more natural but your city centres are awesome, if you want I could do a mod to get rid of that building if I spend a bit of time finding out where you got it from. I suggest you do not upload your pics to ST and rather use a wesite host like DudyIMG or www.imageshack.us . This means that there is more bandwidth for those loading pages. Very well done, rusta

  15. The Leaving / Returning Thread

    OK, I am leaving as well. Just not happy the way everything is going. BATville is closed but will still be BATting for SM as well as the dexters. Will only come back for very important things and if newy comes back. SC4 is dying and so is ST sadly imo. Because of ST I am not BATting which is the reason I am here at all. Also, I am a wee bit put off by what happened to dudy but I better not say anymore. I will only be active in a private forum and will only fully come back if Maxis gets off its butt and does something about this dying game or creates a fully non-dumbed down SC5. Hope you all are happy here as I am not really but this should not impact you. NZ guys, will be BATting Masonic Centre in Wellington so sam, dont worry about it. Should be out in April as a present to all you guys on my birthday (April 19) All of you, thanks for a year of membership and fulling in those boring days but hopefully life will get better .     Realistic Resident Mod by N&R Productions This mod by newy2 and rustawilliams (N and R) reduces the numbers of residents in low-density residential homes to much more realistic numbers. These numbers are on average reduced by two thirds eg. if originally a building had 12 people living in it, 3 people would be residing there. There has only been one problem in beta testing and that is that the population shown in old cities (cities produced before the application of the mod) doesnot change, however all other effects stay the same. Now, after talking to soem people, I think I need to say that throughout beta testing, the commute times of residents did not suffer at all the only change was that now, urban areas will now have to be bigger. This defies what some people believe which is that the no job zots will increase with this mod. To see this defied all you need to do is look at the only example of a CJ with this mod, Lillford Pass, at http://www.simvision.net/forum/showthread.php?t=665. Overall: Effect: Low-density residents reduced by a third. Deficiencies: No effect on population box for old cities Hope you all like the first release of N&R Productions.
