Why do sims hate the monorail?
jeffsandychelsea replied to kabasue's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
are the target sims rich? monorail is mostly preferred by the upper class, as middle and lower class sims do not see it as a good value for their hard earned cash. i don't know about putting parking garages; they are ugly and don't seem to work whenever i use them. anyways, good luck -

little advice on cutting air pollution
jeffsandychelsea replied to kronus101's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
what i do is after covering the city with trees in god mode, start a city then you press ctrl+alt+shift. while holding them down, click on the god mode button. you should now have access to god tools, including the forest tool. just plant the trees as you normally would. if you want, zoom out and then hold shift while placing trees to increase the radius. trees will pop up where ever they can, grass, backyards, parking lots, even on top of small industrial lots such as the 'yard'. it should decrease your air pollution by about 100, as it does in my experience. your mayor rating will go through the roof at this point, over 100%, but then it drops down again. -
well the highways are a bit bumpy lol.

i hope that cities xl will have amazing transport options with deep costomizability. and for those who dont know already, the release date has been moved back to august 09. oh well, if it makes the game better, im all for it! speaking of that, Monte Cristo, Dasilva, or anyone else involved with cities xl, please please PLEASE make a sandbox mode so we can build the city of our dreams without money constraints. looks good so far, keep up the good work. oh and make sure that there are no little 'slivers' of land between lots on the much anticipated curved roads. a lot to ask i know, but try to get that in there.

i think there should be regular disasters like fires, car accidents, small riots if u are a terrible mayor, possibly oil spills like some one said above. =) but it should be realistic. say an industrial road is crowded with commuters and an oil truck pulls out onto the road at the wrong time. an suv smashes into it and the tanker explodes. this would cause very near buildings to catch fire, or even explode if the building is ultra-flammable. also, if i see a building on fire, i don't want to see a generic fireball and the building's texture downgrade, i wanna see blackened parts with gutted walls, ect. also, if you will be able to build dams in the game, they should be able to burst if its funding is lowered too far. other natural disasters like floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, ect ect, should be included and cause realistic damage to the city. fake disasters like alien attacks, giant monsters, ect should be in there for the silly factor, but not an actual disaster. you should be able to toggle natural disasters and 'silly' disasters, but man made ones that happen from dire disrepair and bad infastructure shouldn't be togglable.

yes, i agree with the auto bus stops, but only in certain areas though. i would still prefer to place my bus stops (i hope they are sized correctly and offered in different variations) in places like residential suburbs and rural areas, where not many stops are needed. i just hope that sims in cities xl can walk more than 6 "tiles"(house widths)

i think it would be cool if the game supplied a selection of trains to use for your city eg: green trains, high tech trains, graffitied trains, ect. that would be really cool

VOTE: Do you want regions in Cities XL?
jeffsandychelsea replied to edcase2k4-thugangel1983's topic in Cities XXL
I've read and seen that Cities xl does let you make regions, just in a different way. you have a whole planet to work with, i think. also, the developers are planning to make a multiplayer system that allows many users to create a city on the globe and see how it reacts to others'. you wont be allowed to tinker w/ it, but you can explore another player's city w/ an avatar. but im getting off topic yes, i do want cities xl to have some sort of region play. if it doesn't, i will be very dissapointed. I hope it will allow more transit options than even Sim City, but that will be hard to do. -
