  1. Can't find it?... Ask here!

I saw that one in my searching but it is not the one i previously used. On closer inspection however, it looks like it will suffice. I will check it out and see what happens... Thanks Capt! Tigey
  2. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Previously I used a set of lots or bats that could be placed on all of the road types (i.e. avenue,, one way, street, road) and they could connect to nearly any transit network, rail, subway, bus, etc. I cannot for the life of me remember where I found it or what it was called. Anyone know of it or where I could find it. Building a city and I dont want to see the transit stuff for now, and this would go a long way to acheiving that. Tigey
  3. SC4 Tools: New Toys..

I am still having aproblem here. !I have replaced the default entry in the SC4 Install folder (C:\PROGRA~1\MAXIS\SIMCIT~1 for C:\Program Files\Maxis\Sim City 4 Deluxe), re-did My Plugin Folder for the heck of it, and tried re-doing the SC4 Plugin Folder (just reads Plugins no matter what I put. I have even copy pasted path from address bar in explorer). Is there some kind of validation code behind that Plugins textbox control? The label remains red no matter what I do, so I assume that the value in it is not a valid entry. On your website you mention that you would be willing to share the source. I am something of a VB.NET developer myself, and would be interested in diagnosing the cause of this problem. Let me know if you have any ideas or would be OK with hooking me up with the source. 4. Monorail facelift?

Now if only we had some GHSR tunnels (could replace th Monorail tunnel). Then I could put my GHSR in tunnels with ocasional openings similar to my highways. Tigey
  5. I have a couple of coastal cities that I have done this to, and I just raised the ground level 14m further inland. The sunken part will be at the same level as the lower coastal plain, but will still allow for th tunnel. Additionally, I think that you can accomplish this if you start and endwith raised ground and then lower it in the middle. I know it works for underwater tunnels... Tigey
  6. SC4 Tools: New Toys..

I seem to be experiencing difficulties on the initial defaults dialog also. The "Save and Exit" button appears to be missing; the "Cancel and Exit" nutton however is present. I am running Windows XP SP3, I have AMD Phenom 9850 (2.51 GHz), 3.25 GB addressed (4GB Actual) RAM. No log files are present in MyDocuments or the eu-Contractor folders. Let me know if you require further information. Tigey
  7. Certainly! Go for it. I am hoping to make other "hidden" transport network creations as I get time. I just wish there were more options for getting transport off the surface... Tigey
  8. Recently I have been fiddling areound with underground transport networks and I thought I would share some of the adventure starting with the highways. If you are like me, you may have found that highways take up lots of real estate. I love hiding things underground if I can, so I started dabbling with sunken and underground Highways. The following is a quick and dirty tutorial for creating your highways. Start with a 10x2 area sunk down 14 meters. This allows 6 tiles on each side for on off ramps plus a tile extra on each side for making the tunnel entrance. I have lined one side with alternating road plops to illustrate. Make a similar area on each side and lay your highway. I am making these pretty close together so I can take closer up screenshots, but normally they would be much further apart. I was averaging around 45-55 tiles between on a 256x256 map. Next place roads around the top leaving a single tile just behind the tunnel entrance. You can't place roads there anyhow. In this example I am using one-way roads. I have found that in larger cities (also depending on the distance between and thusly the number of ramps) regular roads will get clogged. Next add single side on/off ramps. I am using the Ground Highway Parallel Ramp - Forward/Reverse 02 ramps. I am using BuddyBuds Rural Sunken Highway Walls lots. Add the Tunnel Caps first (I sometimes get confused about placement by adding other stuff first, then have to go back and demolish to get it right). Next we add some embelishments like the overlook and a filler and the on/offramp walls. Lastly we add some parks gazebos and other 1x1 or 1x2 tile stuff to fill in the gap at the end as well as conne Add some T intersections and whatnot, and connect this network to the other regions. Here is an example of a T-intersection: In the city from the last image, I have three T intersections, and several direction changes. While it took a while to build the whole thing, I was very pleased with it when I was done, as it blended pretty well into the rest of the city instead of cutting a swath through it. Now if only other items (like highspeed rail) could be done this way, Tigey
