  1. Favorite European Cities

München, Germany. I swear I never saw a happier and more colorful city which is also filled with a lot of history.
  2. Your favorite Nuclear Power plant

The only one I ever visited : I might say I was a bit amazed by it. It looked different than any other Nuclear Power plant. And go figure, they built it in a high risk seismic zone.
  3. Urban vs Rural

I say Rural - Well, mind you, I live in a pretty much rural-like area, but that's not completely rural. What I am searching for when am in a rural town is something incredible in nature, something one cannot imagine at first, or easily accessed because of the nature itself. I think this point of view mainly changed during my stay at the Cinque Terre in Italy, near Genova. The latter being an incredible metropolis with a huge port, the former being small towns, rarely accessible by car, with a coastline that you can't forget when seen. That's why I like rural grounds more than any urban zone. Gray against waves of many colors.
  4. Please HELPE me.

I've seen a lot of copies of the Deluxe edition in my zone lately, for 10 Euros mostly. Quite cheap for a great game. So all I can really suggest is - first copy you find, buy it. Maybe there are digital versions, but that I don't know.
  5. Show us your Oddities!

@6y4ever : I think that intersection is part of NAM or part of the Euro road textures. As for my oddity : well, the graphics looked strange, filled with glitches, making park lots of commercial offices go all around the map, if rendered on Hardware. Maybe I can take a screenshot next time I'm around, not sure if it will work.
  6. What frustrates you about sim city 4

I think I missed most the "diagonal" part of the game. No bridges or tunnels that are diagonal... Not even buildings and parks. Sure, for the latter, some lot mods help a lot (ha! Nice word game!), but really lacks some sort of realism. It's hard to make cities that aren't square in nature (like a Roman War Camp for example). But it's not like I hate the fact that there is not. But there's that..
  7. Show us your....roadless cities!

That city looks marvelous 9988. Fantastic job. Will have to read your City Journal too
  8. Show us your Region!

The little project of mine, making Nurberg (which by the way, is in no way related with any German city). Worked hard (read as 20 minutes) to get the map right and am making the city still. According to my personal info, the city should have a little over 8 million inhabitants. Will I be able to reach the milestone? Well, it doesn't look that nice like this, but there are some nice corners to it. The whole city is surrounded by twin walls too, not really visible from this picture. The western border is filled with suburbs, while the northern border will be farmlands mostly. The eastern border will have an industrial zone. In general, the plan is - west town : New town. East town - Downtown and old town (and royal castle too). But I am far from done. PS - something I forgot to mention in my presentation 2 days ago : I talk way too much.
  9. Show us your Mosaics

Well, it's day 2 for me here (also post 2), so I'll send something I made in the recent weeks : Of course, after seeing the other pics I was wondering if I really should have posted it (it makes the whole topic look uglier)
  10. Rockaway: City of Magic

Incredible! I am stunned by the colors of the city. Great work ^^
  11. Introduce Yourself Here!

Hello everyone, Lauron here! While I may not be a new member, I certainly am someone that took interest to this (fantastic if I might add) site late, this week in fact. So what can I say about me, aside from the usual boring stuff (I am boring, sorry for that)? I am a relatively good guy that likes making his cities look good! ... and fail dramatically at that, but that's not the point! People that know me will probably refer to me as sarcastic, ironic, funny or simply weird. It's not the first time I present myself in front of a lot of people I don't know, but I always was shy at it (sadly, this feeling gets away after awhile. Then I start posting. A lot). It's not the first gaming community, if I might refer to it this way, that I joined either. Yet every time I write something about me, I am at a loss of words. What about me? I am a technically speaking normal person with relatively strange hobbies. Collecting medieval weapons being the first, cycling being the second and (video) gaming the third. I am 20 years old, study Chemistry, hoping to aim for the Forensic Sciences. With a bit of luck and good will, I guess I'll reach that. And despite the weirdness of it, I am also a book writer, although not a good one. I am not a native English speaker and my skills are rather lacking. But still I wrote a book. Well, that's about it, thanks for reading - if you did. And if you did not, basically all I said was "Hello" Also, I am a very civil person, despite being put in awkward situations like this one. Hopefully I don't sound too dramatic or exaggerated. But that's me babbling! Sorry. So, see you around
