Hypocrasy in all it's glory has never been been so blatant. I am not one of "the bad teens" i don't drink, i don't smoke and I've never tried to cause any trouble. The first time I used the F-word was in grade 8, but yes I understand where you're coming from. I've never been stereotyped (mainly because I'm a shut-in) but I know it happens. The high school downtown decided to boycot the mall a few blocks away because the security there was overbearing and telling them to hurry up and leave, so the students just said, fine, we'll leave, but let's just see how it affects the food court here if we don't come back. The security just assumed that every teenager was there to make trouble, not to have a pleasant lunch. even in my own school i've seen those gangstas and preps, and let me tell you i know a place where the can put all that crappy bling, I have nothing against Black culture, but it's just not cool when there are only four black people in your whole school (not to mention the fact that all four are girls) and you're sitting in the middle of suburbia. What I find is that it's little more than a false identity, most of these kids have never held a gun, they have never been part of a gang, nor have they ever lived on the street, they wear clothes that real gangsters could never afford, all because they saw it in some *****ty Cent video. I'm not a hypocrite (I recognize my hypocrasy and accept it as part of my complex inner workings), I'm proving a point, and that point is, it's better to be yourself than part of some fad cause in a few years some of these kids will look back ( just like adults who wore Bell Bottoms as teens) and say What was I thinking. and they will be made fun of. of course some people never change and will always be sheep lost in a herd

A meteor strike in Wa state, and conspiracy theories
Wrightguy0 replied to LarksTonguesInAspic's topic in Current Events
Originally posted by: manticorefan Don't get me started on Tunguska....meteors don't usually cause radiation poisoning.quote> Some Meteors cary radioactive materials such as uranium and plutonium etc. and when the meteor exploded that material was dispersed over Tunguska. there is a simple explanation for the myan calenar too, it's a lot of work plotting stars and planning out a calendar that goes on for centuries, they had to draw the line somewhere and it happend to be 2012, either that or the started dying off by that time and were unable to continue. and don't forget, governments are very weird, lots of strange customs and rituals, i wouldn't take anything they say about this meteor not happening too seriously, what matters is you know what happened and now thanks to the internet you have shared this fantastic astronomical meets terrestrial event with us. -

Can't wait to see how big this gets

Which is a shame, because there are some buildings here that i'm surprised have not been done in BAT, like the Woolworth, or the new WTC. How can no one even think of making these for the STEX.

Very Cool CJ If I may, where did you find those cruise ships?

I guess it's just one of those places you get used to over the years I'd also like to nominate the Police HQ in winnepeg, that brutalist monstrosity sould be imploded for something that dosen't look like it was taken form Communist Russia

L.A and San Fran are both beautiful in their own ways, L.A. has it's City hall the, great tracts of pre war housing, two FLW gems, the great mansions that once housed the biggest movie stars and lots of great art deco. San Francisco has it's classic Victorian homes, the senic hills, Civic Center, The Golden Gate Bridge, Goldengate Park, Lombard street, and not to mention the numerous parks, cafes', boutiques, hotels and resturants.

Cities benefit from having streetcars, not only are cleaner than busses, but in some cities they are an attracton (SF) they provide defined routesto a destination and I think many majour cities would be better off with streetcars, the more public transit, the better. heck at the turn of the century streetcars were the only form of mass transit, from Saint John to San Francisco and every point in between the steetcar was king.

Bostons' Prudential building is in my opinion a very bad building, but nothing, and I mean nothing compares to the Chase builind in Lower Manhattan, not only did it destroy the flow of the classic New York skyline, but ti completly obscures 40 Wall Street from the north.
