1. Brunswick Elevated Viaducts

Thanks David!
2. Just to let you know, Tarkus, I have something installed that removes one of the RHW icons. No, I don't know what mod it is. If I can figure how to generate a list of all the .dat, .sc4lot, and .sc4desc files I have in my plugins folder I'd happily share...
3. SC4 Startup Manager - manage your plugins!

I really appreciate the help, but no luck Andreas. I also tried "Apps" as well, but to no avail. Don't worry about it, I'll manually manage my plugins.
4. SC4 Startup Manager - manage your plugins!

Hi Andreas, Since you seem to be the "go to guy" for SUM support, I need your help. My SC4 install is not in the default location, nor was it installed through Windows. I've managed to lose my discs in my many moves in recent years, and so my install dates to several years ago and just gets copied from one hard drive to another. So, I found the fix back on page 3 that involves regedit, but to no avail. I've tried both ../maxis/simcity4 and .../maxis/simcity4/apps in the binary in the value data. Is there any way to manually input this data in the registry and make SUM work? That's what I've created in the registry in an attempt to get SUM to work. Thanks, BigSlark
5. NDEX ITS Victorian Rail Yard

This looks great, Ill Tonkso. Nicely done!
6. NAM: Development

Cheers to the NAM Team!
7. how many still use rails?

I use rail, GLR, and EL-rail extensively. In high density city centers I use subway. As for monorail, I have the HSPR installed and its really neat for spanning entire regions. Ill_Tonkso and frogface have done some really nice railroad stations. Check them out.
8. Graveyard

An this is why I only come to ST for older files and Transit Modding. I think this is amusing! While not the most creative lot ever, I see the humor and rate it appropriately. Simply put, bonnakorv can do what ever he/she wants with their projects and if the mods don't like it then they can remove the uploads! Grow up people!
9. Nice work, Tarkus! I'm itching to get at the MIS, lets just say the A5(M) of New Mississippi is going to go away in a swift manner when it's released. Once I get the hang of the MIS and draggable GLR comes out I'm thinking of recreating my ancestoral home of Los Angeles, but with the current light rail system expanded to replace express buses. Hopefully I'll dream of SC4 rather than T.S. Eliot tonight. Enjoy Spring Break and good luck modding over the break!
10. NAM: Development

I am in awe Andreas. I raise my glass to the European Transit Modding masters!
11. NAM: Development

I assume that if you "T" one GLR line into another a small wye-style junction is created? What about when lines cross? Is the so-called "grand union" formed or is it just a 90 degree crossing? BigSlark-asking all those pesky, frustrating questions that hopefully make someone think. And yes, I'll give you homebrew before I ask questions if you show up at my door. Still fueled by energy drinks, BigSlark signing off
12. Glad I entertained you, Tarkus. I was up late working on a paper and was cruising the forums, this just seemed the natural thread to post in. And no, I'm not sure why it seemed like the place to be. By the way, I don't know if you looked at my pathetic attempt at a CJ, but that region is close to built out and is in need of a major transit reconstruction. When MIS hits the stre, er, servers I'm intending to "compete" with Argentum. Watch out Tarkus! At any rate, congrats on being done with finals, I've got Comprehensive Exams in my major on Friday, so I'm going into lurk mode. BigSlark over and out.
13. NAM: Development

Well memo it seems that we'll all have to have a massive GLR renovation someday in the future, considering how much effort went into drawable GLR.
14. *Edited to prevent stealing Tarkus' thunder in his next dev report. No, I don't know anything that you don't know, just read the Transit Modding forums religiously like I do and you come to make logical conclusions. In the event I was wrong, well, then I guess I shouldn't have edited this.* And in case anyone is wondering, I'm not stalking Tarkus, I liken it to part of the Roman Catholic Mass: "Let us proclaim the mysteries of our faith" That is to say, my mystery is how on earth talented individuals managed to figure this out in the first place, much less implement it and the "faith" is that a 4-year old PC game continues to be viable AND fun thanks to the impressive work of individuals like Tarkus, Quirlix, Andreas Roth, and all the rest that I can't remember. So, in short, EA needs to hire these dedicated Transit Modders for SC5 development. And I feel like the least I could do is buy Tarkus a beer/mixed drink/iced tea if we ever end up crossing paths. Oh, and to clarify, no intention of offending anyone by quoting part of the liturgy, its been in my mind lately. Keep on keeping on RHW Gods! This rant brought to you by Big Daddy and Full Throttle Energy Drinks.
15. Patiently waiting for Tarkus or Quirlix to return with something else to amaze us all.
16. NAM: Development

With the nifty update ped mall tiles and overpasses, could the amazing person that made them possible make both a ped overpass and a ped overpass that is part of a GLR station? /Off to figure out GMAX, the BAT, LE, and the new Pathing tool.
17. GLR Stations

Be sure to make GLR the shortest route for your sims to commute. For example, build an area like so: x road - street = GLR S GLR Station R residential xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ====-SS====-===SS-==== RRR-RRRRR-RRRR-RRR RRR-RRRRR-RRRR-RRR RRR-RRRRR-RRRR-RRR By making the GLR stations closer than the road, Sims should use GLR provided that the line goes where they want to AND it is a faster route than driving. Usually, I build GLR in suburban/residental areas and subways in dense commercial zones while I place EL lines in Industrial areas. Usually my GLR lines parallel avenues (hopefully I'll be able to get some land back with the next NAM release!) and see MUCH more use than the roads. I'll try post a picture when I get home this weekend. Good luck!
18. NAM: Development

I'm a huge GLR fan and this is amazing work! I have no problem with tearing out my current GLR systems so I would be able to use draggable GLR. I have a couple of questions: 1. Will all the existing stations, Vester's Tram Depot, and Subway/GLR transition have to be replaced? 2. Is it difficult to make stations for GLR Avenues? 3. When will we see a release? 4. Are the GLR lines Ped Tiles as well, thus allowing people to cross the street? Also, I agree with schMo with the idea that barriers of some sort are needed for realism. However, the inability to cross the GLR anywhere but intersections and stations seems like it might cause commute time nightmares. What does everyone else think?
19. Charles River Crossing Project

Blahdy, you amaze me. If EA doesn't contact you for your 3D design skills then there is something not right in the world.
20. Thank you for clearing this up, Tarkus. Hopefully that will end the debate and we all get to salivate over the release of MIS.
21. I know you're going to have lots of replies Tarkus, but do you intend on making a RHW to avenue ramp piece? Check out this google earth link to see what I'm talking about: http://tinyurl.com/2zvhnd. I'd go as far to say that ability to create RHW to other network cloverleafs is one of the most exciting possibilities of the RHWMIS. I suppose the same could be said about roads and OWRs, depending on how intricate and free-flowing you want your interchanges.
22. The real question, Haljackney, is will this turn into RHW-10 roadways when its released in the future?
23. Yes, RHWMIS interchages DO take up a lot of space. However, if you look at Google Earth (or any other satellite mapping program for that matter) you will quickly notice that interchanges take up a lot of space, and that Tarkus is merely imitating life. Personally, having to dedicate more space to freeway's doesn't bother me, as they form a major part of the landscape of most American cities. One of my fiancee's favorite TV shows, Gray's Anatomy, comes to mind. Seattle's two most prominent features are I-5 with its C/D system and express lanes and the Alaskan Way Viaduct, old U.S. 99. If you look at most U.S. cities (Manhatten, San Francisco, and now parts of Boston excluded) the interstate system makes up a part of the skyline. Whether or not the amount of space the typical interchage uses is a good use of urban land is another discussion entirely. That's simply the way it is. /end urban design rant
24. You've done amazing work, Tarkus. I congratulate you on making a functional realistic highway system and cannot wait for the next installment!
25. I concur with JCarter, a mini-CJ about using RHW and RHWMIS would be welcomed with open arms by, I'm sure, many ST'ers!
