  1. ferox Saxon Palace, Warsaw

I'd really like to see this be modular so that people could use just one side or put three pieces together to make the whole building. I think each side of the building would stand alone very well.
  2. Ascenseur Strepy Thieu

    What the heck is it?
  3. Contemporary Art Museum of Niteroi

Unfortunately I think this is one of those buildings that is not well suited to a game tht has the type of view that Simcity 4 has, when looking down from the sky it might as well just be a dinner plate that Im looking at. The real detail on this building is the glass windows and unique pedestal that the building stands on which will rarely if ever been seen in a game with the view angles that SC4 utilizes so the majority of the time it will look like nothing but a dinner plate unfortunately.
  4. XCenter Gualgun Aria Center

The windows look very strange in the night shot. Did you use a spotlight to shine at them, or did you use some other method? I made a building where the windows did this at night and it was hideous. Other than that I like the building and with it's cleanish lines I wouldn't put any roof junk on it at all, and just assume it's kept in the basement area for all stuff normally found on roof tops.
  5. nbay Police Administration Building

Looks very nice and could double for an office building in my Calabasas, California cityl

  8. Aaaaack, I wish there were an edit post feature in here.... Just wanted to say that looking at the config.bmp applied to the map in my opinion makes no sence. Its got little city tiles wehre there is only water, and medium in only a few spots the rest are large. Would be better to just create our own config.bmp for this particular landscape. Looks like there will be necessary lots of bridges on the map after doing some more terraforming which I like.
  9. Sorry, please ignore last URL, Imageshack compressed it down to be too small, this one is set to 1680x1060 or so for better detail: http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/197/hongrh9.jpg
  10. An ingame pic is definitely needed on these maps. While this isn't "in game" here is the image output from SC4Mapper: http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/5610/hongjz6.jpg
  11. Missile silo

Do missles fire out of these? I do have to agree with the person above me here. These do look a lot like manhole covers, The city I live in just installed a sewer system for the entire city and there are manhole covers all over the place now and they all resemble these silo covers. Egads! I hope no missles come shooting out of our manhole covers around here.
  12. Swimming Pool

If this is supposed to be a private pool then it looks rather odd having the 4 stone walls surrounding it. I can see having 3 of them, with the 4th one open to where it "should" butt up against the houses lot. However if this is a public pool then the pool needs to be substantially larger than this. It may work for other peoples cities but it would look out of place in mine. No rating since what I would rate it dramatically goes against the other members ratings
  13. Badminton Court

It feels like it's missing something. Perhaps some trees or benches, just something to make it visually appealing. As it is it's pretty much a green rectangle on a green landscape, which isn't very visually appealing in my opinion.
  14. HK Mok Tin Yin Building

Very nice, I like this kind of building. What, a first comment? Whoot!!
  15. Jaggers Rise

Would this really be playable without needing to use the tools in either the game or a 3rd party program like the terraformers to flatten out some rather large areas to be buildable on? It looks nice and all but doesn't honestly look all that fun to actually build on without major terraforming first.
  16. Park 001

Part II: Some path lamps on the paths would just be icing ontop of the cake, perhaps a nice small building would be in order too acting as the maintenance shed or something like that. Overall though, this will look nice in one of my suburbian areas where Im not too concerned about detail.
  17. Park 001

Overall I like the idea behond this park, however I do agree with some of the others here (imagine that!) in that it would be nice to see some fences around the tennis courts, and perhaps also the pool as I too have never seen a public pool that didn't have a fence around it for safety.
  18. Driving mode

To be honest it really doesn't interest me. I remember with Rollercoaster Tycoon how badly I and so so many others wanted to be able to ride the rides and walk through thier parks, and when RCT3 came out, it seemed to be more of a novelty then anything else. Sure it was cool to ride one of my coasters once or twice but that was about it. I remember people asking over at the Atari forums about this, and most people that responded seemed to think it was more of a novelty too and hardly used it more than once or twice. Seems that it was a big waste of development time. But to each his own, if MC wants to put something like that in the game then it's their perogative, but for me I kid of look at it like I do the SC4 U drive it. It's there but it's not something that I have ever enjoyed and when I have tried it I found it to be more of an annoyance then anything else, and always felt like it was a slap on product, meaning they added it for the sake of adding it but never really thought it all the way through. But if MC can take the original U drive it idea and throw their own twists and curves on it to make it something different, and enjoyable then great, let's see how talented MC really is in this regard.
  19. Are There regions in 'City Life'?

I think he and I look at regions in SC4 differently. The region to me holds all my individual cities, it's NOT one giant city that is then broken down into only pieces of the "regional" city. I can't even imagine any computers capable today (consumer models) that could handle a city the size of some of the regions I play on. Anyway, everybody has their own preference, for me SC4 was/is the best of the SC games, but looking over the information that gets posted about Cities Unlimited, it could actually be a SC4 killer in my opinion, of course depending on how it actually gets executed when it's finally released. I really wasn't all that happy with City Life, actually I'd go so far as to say that I disliked it with a passion. It was too repetitive, but CU looks like it might be quite excellent. Im keeping my fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong and that MC will be able to deliver on the hype that they've been dishing out.
  20. SMP Juche Tower

Interesting bat though it wouldn't fit in any of the cities that I work on.
  21. vda Amsterdam Krom Boomssloot 67 69

First comment! Whoot! Nicely done. I like it.
  22. Large Parking

Oh and now that I think about it, we have a mall here like this. It has vast one level parking and only one building with a multilevel parking that was put in several years after the mall was put in when they realized that the one level parking wasn't enough so they had to take some of it and create a multilevel parking structure to accomodate more of the customers.
  23. Large Parking

Sorry Where I wrote: "out to maximize the space that they consume." that should have meant to mean that they parking structures grow up instead of out so as to minimize the footprint of land taken while maximizing the usefullness of the same property footprint.
  24. Large Parking

I've seen parking lots such as this when I was much younger (probably a good 20 or 40 years ago) however now with space being a premium, most parking structures seem to grow up instead of out to maximize the space that they consume. Of course the only way to do this in SC4 is to create your own custom bat which is probably the better way to go in SC4 because space here too can be of a premium.
