  1. Let us know if it works for you, will ya? I'm curious to know if it's just me.   Thx.
  2. Still not working for me, regardless of where I put it, and regardless of what I rename it to force a specific load order.
  3. Simcity - What couldve been

I'm one of those who waited for offline mode.. and as such, ALL of my SC2013 experience is while in offline 'mode'. So with that knowledge in mind, how are you guys calling SC2013 a working game? Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Or maybe it only works right in 'online mode'? And yes, I'm running 10.1. I can get what seems to be a working city, making money, everyone's happy, but once I start getting high density buildings I start having major problems. Sims cannot find jobs despite the population panel (F2) showing a lot of jobs of the same wealth type, and the job buildings are screaming they have to close due to no workers. Eventually the buildings will become abandoned. I've also had the population panel appear to be completely out of sync with what visually shows when clicking on buildings. 0 jobs available in the Pop panel, people unemployed, but click on some businesses and you can see they're screaming they have no workers. This problem will also happen within a megatower between levels. Jobs screaming they need workers, residents screaming they can't find jobs or shops, and shops screaming they don't have enough shoppers. They're in the same tower!! Wth?? I've completely given up on megatowers. They just don't seem worth the problems for the footprint size. I've tried various mods available. Some work as intended.. some work but break other things, or introduce new bugs.. some are broken from the start because the game engine itself doesn't really support it.. the mods have helped but they've also frustrated me worse in some cases due to the bugs that get introduced.. udon is one of those.. works like it should, but agents can get eaten, and I had one city so bugged I lost all of my police and all of my dump trucks which made the city completely unplayable. My cities aren't congested, I have plenty of different mass transit options appropriate for the wealth type of sims I'm trying to move, and those mass transit stops aren't congested and 'are' being used.. yet the game still seems to break down after getting larger populations. Are we really only supposed to play this to a medium density level? If others aren't having these issues, what am I doing wrong? My tourism pathing is separate from my city RCI pathing, and my mass transit seems to be working as well as it can (the AI in this game is terrible). And forget about having the masses commute between cities. I can get a small portion of people to commute through various transportation types, but I can't depend on it due to the low number of people actually willing to commute. And unrelated to the OP, but already mentioned by others: I too am watching Citybound. Who knows what will actually come out of it. It's promising, but it's at such an early stage that anything can happen. Especially since it's primarily a single person doing the game, and not some corporation with deep pockets, huge commitments, set release dates, and shareholders screaming for results to get it out so they can have their money. But it's definitely been an interesting way to write a game.. with the public watching and interacting with the main programmer/owner, live, with quick brainstorming sessions when problems arise, all while he works away at it.
  4. About alt w

Are you using any mods? I discovered that my alt+w stopped working as well, but it was after I had installed a bunch of mods. I completely removed and reinstalled the mods I wanted to use and since then my alt+w's been working again. I have no idea which mod caused it to stop working. You might want to try the alt+w cheat on a brand new region, before you place any roads down. Even though my alt+w appeared to not work anymore, I found it did work right at the beginning of starting a new region. Once I started placing roads it seemed to stop again. If it does work for you at that point, just make sure you build up enough money right away so that you can gift it to your other cities once alt+w stops working again.
  5. I've found that some mods need to be loaded before others to prevent startup crashing. I can't recall exactly which ones have had issues for me, (I add and remove mods every couple of days lately) but my SimCityData folder is full of files now that have leading letters such as AzBudgetDataInGovernmentPanel.package .. the "Az" part being added by me to stop a crash that occurred. So now when I add a mod, if it crashes the game, instead of assuming it's a broken mod I take the file and start adding leading letters to it, changing the load order, until I figure out where in the order it needs to be to prevent that crash. It doesn't work 100% of the time, as some mods are just completely incompatible, but I would say about an 80% success rate in getting mods to coexist and not crash the game. Edit: Sorry, this was a reply to Blackkatt. I hit the quote button but it didn't seem to take.
  6. Yesterday I removed all installed user created mods except Akar (with the RoadsSet), Avalon, and this 230 landmarks version of the mod. I then created two new offline regions, one in regular offline mode, the other in Sandboxed mod and played until I got my Department of Tourism placed. No more than 3 landmarks were allowed. I then tried the 30 landmark version and had the same results. I then tried the different SimCity-Scripts_287520926.package files I have, making sure there were no duplicates and then tried them in different places inside the SimCity folders (Eco folder, Package folder, and SimCityData folder.   I was unsuccessful in getting more than 3 landmarks landmarks plopped.
  7. Same here. Not approved after 3, regardless of which version of this mod I use -- 30 or 230 (and I seem to remember a 10 at one point as well). I'm pretty sure I did have one of them working (I believe it was 30) for a short time but I haven't been able getting any of them working since then, and I've gone as far as removing all other mods at one point but still no luck. I have also done a complete uninstall and reinstall of SimCity (needed for me to get UDoN working). Is it possible something got changed in the game during the 10.1 patch that broke this mod? I believe I already had CoT when I started trying to get this mod to work, so I'm not sure if that's an issue.
