this is fast becoming one of my favorite CJ's. Your attention to detail is fantastic, your organization skills flow well with the surrounding area, and the MMP selection is impeccable.

I plan on having a lit and non-lit version (the lit version will have some decorative stuff for urban interchanges). I do appreciate the input though! And yes, it's an R8. I would kill to have one.

Well, here's a little treat I've been working on. Gonna have to study more on custom LOD's and such to get it working though.

Franklin County - 12th Anniversary Update, All-Nighttime Shots of New Riverside Downtown
SAVAGExPHOENIX replied to Patricius Maximus's topic in SC4 City Journals
Haha you really need a new spacecraft. How about Illium Industries gifts the Franklinites the IBC-35D "Aurora" class battlecarrier? If you want it, it's yours. I just have to finish up the UVW mapping. Also, excellent story! -
The dukes of hazzard county would love those bridges.

Mein Herz Brent - Rammstein Speaking of, I'm going to see them tonight in concert at the American Airlines center in Dallas. If anyone is in the DFW area, I suggest you go. This is their only American tour. -
I know many of you here have City Journals with a monarchy or at least royalty. I'd like to see your leader's extravagant palaces! Here is one of my favorites.. Northfire Palace Complex, deep in the Serenity mountains of the Illium Empire. It is the last refuge of the Royal Family during the Calistan Blitz.

NO LONGER UPDATED // The Illium Empire
SAVAGExPHOENIX replied to SAVAGExPHOENIX's topic in SC4 City Journals
The president of the Federation of Calistan received this yesterday on a secure line. It seems as if the war may be coming to a close. As always, +1's are nice! Another update is coming very soon! -
Explain the story behind your avatar.

I've had two avatars on this forum. My first was from the Owls of Ga'hool movie. One of my favorite movies, and furthermore, from my favorite scene in the movie. My current one, the Audi R8, is my dream car. I just happen to really, REALLY like this particular view of the R8. -

NO LONGER UPDATED // The Illium Empire

:: REPLIES/NOTES :: Vivapanda: It's tragic, really. I spent hours just for one screenshot. Whatever it takes for a good story, right? Also, check your messages. LegoBuilder123: I'm honored to hear this is your favorite CJ! If you feel emotions when reading the story, it means I'm doing my job! And Calistan had it coming. The next update will see the end of the war. CityMaster: Thanks! Las Colinas will be rebuilt though, with a little help from an unexpected country. LastTrueChamp: Thanks! Illium sometimes disappears to the second page thanks to real-life syndrome Notes: I have been meaning to get an update soon, but once again, I'm not at home for an extended period of time. Tomorrow I'm going back to my house to pick some things up. Along with it is a USB drive with my plugins folder, with my SimCity 4 disc, and my Adobe CS3 installers. I should have an update out by this weekend, even if a small one. -

Desktop.. Everyone has one of these!
SAVAGExPHOENIX replied to The Milkman's topic in General Off-Topic
I run dual screens, but it's the same on both, and I always have my Spotify open unless I'm working in 3DS Max, and usually I'll have Photoshop/Reference images open on it. Nothing significant. Anywho, my desktop. I have an unhealthy obsession with the Valkyrie from Avatar... It rotates through about 20 images. -
Let's put a face to the Legend (kidding). Here's a dozen or so pictures, just so you can grasp my everywhere-ness. Here's my most recent picture I have. NO LONGER UPDATED // The Illium Empire
SAVAGExPHOENIX replied to SAVAGExPHOENIX's topic in SC4 City Journals
:: REPLIES/NOTES :: Legobuilder: Hah, thanks. The Queen is only doing this as a last resort. I duly apologize for the lack of updates. School has been kicking my a**, and last week I got into a pretty gnarly auto accident (here's a pic, if your curious) and busted up my hand pretty good. :: The Fall of Las Colinas :: Jeff Young turned up the radio in his new car. He was pretty stoked about driving it to work for the first time. He couldn't wait to show Maegan. She'd definitely go on a date with him now. She damn well better, seeing as he dropped nearly 45 thousand credits on it. He looked up at the silhouette of Las Colinas' downtown sector. Jeff thought it looked pretty against the morning sky. He looked at the clock. 0945 it read. "Damn." said Jeff aloud. He picked up his phone and dialed his shift supervisor. "Hey Jeff! What's up?" answered a quite voice. "Hey, Amber," he spoke, relieved that she didn't sound angry, "Sorry I'm running a bit late. The babysitter is sick, so I had to drop the kids off at work. I should be there in twenty minutes." "Oh, it's no problem!" replied the woman, "The staff meeting isn't until 11. I'll see you when you get here." Jeff smiled. "Okay, sound's good! See you in a bit." He finished, then hung up the phone. Amber was a good leader. Too bad she was leaving next week. Jeff shook his head at the thought. He turned left on Republic Ave, and drove towards downtown. He could see the office building where he worked glinting a beautiful golden color in the morning sun. The dark red "Aurora" sign stood out magnificently. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> The captain of the guided missile cruiser HMS Hyperion, Lt Commander Micheal Herrera, stared at the paper in his hand. He couldn't believe his eyes. In deep, bloodred bold text at the top of the paper were the clear words "NUCLEAR MISSION ORDER". He read it over carefully. Commander Herrera stood silently for a moment. He then looked at his executive officer. Behind the uniform, she was quite a beautiful woman. "Major D'Elia, I need you at your launch station. This is an NMO straight from Queen." he said quickly. The Major paused for a moment, then replied, "Aye sir." She moved over to a station behind the navigation controls. She opened a shipwide communications channel. "Set condition 1 through the ship," spoke the Major in a clear voice, "This is a nuclear ordinance mission. Prepare for launch. This is not a drill." Commander Herrera spoke again, this time at his weapons officer. "Weapons, load a missile into bay 3. and standby for launch." "Yes sir." responded the weapons officer. He relayed the order to the launch bays. A moment later he responded. "Missile is loaded and ready to launch." "Major, if you could please insert your launch key," said the Commander. The Major took a long silver and red key from inside her shirt out and inserted it into it's slot. Commander Herrera did the same. "Turn key on my mark. 3... 2... 1... Mark." The keys clicked, and instantly a buzzer sounded throughout the ship. The weapons officer spoke again. "Launch safeties are now disabled. Nuclear ordinance is hot. Firing on your command, sir." Commander Hererra took a deep breath. "Fire." He said quietly. The weapons officer put the command into his console, and instantly the ship began to shudder. A deep roar emanated from within the ship. A bright flash came from outside the bridge as the large missile rose from the belly of the HMS Hyperion. Slowly, at first, then speeding up as it headed skyward. The Commander stepped down from the Launch Key Station and turned to his XO. "Major Nikolette D'Elia, you are to take command of this ship until I return. I am hereby relieving myself of command of the Hyperion as per ordered by Her Majesty and Joint Command. Take care of her, Nikki." He saluted, then walked off the bridge. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Jeff turned off the key to his car. He felt a vibration in his pocket and pulled out his phone. He looked at the screen and couldn't help but smile. The text message read "Of course I'll go! (: Pick me up around 7?" He had finally asked Maegan out on a date, and didn't even have to show her his new car. "Oh well, at least she'll be impressed when I pick her up" Jeff said to himself. He tapped in a reply, and put his phone back in his breast pocket. Jeff got out of the car and grabbed his briefcase from the back seat. He closed the doors and began walking towards the elevator to take him from the top floor of the parking garage to the crosswalk on the street. Just as he pressed the down button, he heard a deafening roar overhead. He looked up just in time to see a missile fly over. "Oh my God..." said Jeff aloud. He watched as the missile went beyond his view southwest towards the stadium. He stood stunned by what he'd just seen. The elevator had just arrived when a flash to the southwest dimmed everything in sight. Jeff squinted his eyes and looked up just in time to see the downtown skyline vaporize around him. That was the last image Jeff Young ever saw. -
You know when someone says "The use of nuclear ordinance is authorized", $%&^! just got real.

REPLIES: Texan: Yep. I live in Denton. TMorgan: I agree. Things will get worse before they get better JD: You will see Calistan pay for it's crimes. Note: I again apologize for the lack of updates in recent months. Being an art student is very time-consuming. It has freed up a bit as the semester is winding down. You'll see more out of me shortly. -
NO LONGER UPDATED // The Illium Empire
SAVAGExPHOENIX replied to SAVAGExPHOENIX's topic in SC4 City Journals
I apologize for the lack of updates. RL is hitting me pretty hard. I am working on it though, I promise! For now, a teaser from the story. An excerpt.. A very difficult and very dangerous world-changing decision is being made at this very moment right here. Northfire Palace Serenity Mountains, Illium Empire Queen Alexis stroked her long brown hair absentmindedly. The stress of the past months made her look -and feel- a decade older. Bags developed under her eyes, her hair was flecked with grey, and her eyes were bloodshot. Most of the Royal Staff had been driven deep into the Serenity Mountains in central Illium to the Northfire Palace. Although there had been significant military victories, Calistan continued to punish the Empire every chance it got. Two cities had been completely leveled, and three more, including the capitol, would require significant repair to infrastructure and commerce. The Queen sat back in her chair and looked over to her Minister of Defense, Glenn Davidson. "Mister Davidson," she said quietly to the Defense Minister, "what is our estimated loss to date?" The older man, wearing the same dark blue pinstriped suit he wore on the night of the first attack on Illium City, opened a datapad on his desk. "Fifty four thousand military," he said, shaking his head, "... and nearly a hundred thousand civilians, Your Majesty." It was like a dam had burst somewhere behind her eyes. The Queen let many tears fall in the following minutes. After almost ten minutes, she spoke in a barely audible voice. "Glenn... get Joint Command on the line..." She paused, almost scared to finish her statement. Alexis took a breath and continued, "Tell them... Tell them this is a nuclear mission order." The Defense Minister looked up, confused. Had he heard her correctly? "Nuclear mission order, your majesty?" he asked, wanting nothing more than to hear her say no. "Yes." stated the Queen. "Nuclear Mission Order. Tell Joint Command that the use of nuclear weapons is now authorized, by order of the Queen. I'm ending this war. Today." -
Might as well throw a couple here.

Thanks! I'm thinking a botanical garden type thing for the entrance lobby surrounding the fountain. The "car park" is actually just more open terraces. Thanks! Hopefully it will be soon! Thanks, I appreciate it. Well, again it's a WIP. The roof junk is not finished, and I've yet to add any HVAC or comm arrays. I'm also planning on changing the window texture to black with a hint of gold reflections. All in all, I have a lot of work left to finish on this before it becomes a usable unit.

I'm surprised you haven't moved to RHW, but your Maxis Highways look good nonetheless, bar the texture issue. I always enjoy updates to UC.
