I just picked up the Steam version also, at $5 USD how could you not? Hoping to migrate all my plugins and regions across without too much hassle. Anything to watch out for?

I've been playing SC4 since I was 13...I'm now 21!

Yep I've been playin it since pretty much the week it came out. If that was 2003 I would've been 17, crazy! -
Assuming you are running in Steam, just right click on Cities XL in the games list and go to properties. Go to the Local files tab and click verify integrity.

Fantastic man, this is how I envision my cities turning out, particularly the burbs. Really impressed. Will be keeping a close eye on this CJ. P

What frustrates you about sim city 4
Spoti replied to Pasta-power's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Far and away the most annoying thing is the crashes - but as was mentioned earlier - often it's attributed to dual-core CPUs and setting afinity to a single core normally fixes it. Though I still have the occasional crash. Otherwise - rock on SC4! -
Hi lads Running SC4 Deluxe on a AMD Athlon 64 X2 - 2GB ram - geforce 7600GS - winxp pro. Mods and plugins (all installed in the last week): NAM, super demand, farming jobs x50, trafficfix_dm, industry quadrupler, realistic water, triangle solar tower, clean air ordiance booster, road top busstops. The issue - Built my first city to the point where I ran out of room, all the commuting and path finding etc was fine (when you query the bus stops and roads for commute paths etc) and still is fine. However once I start building in an adjacent city with say, just commerical, it won't display inter-city commutes. The commutes ARE happening, as each commercial lot will say its full of jobs, not abandoned etc. But when you query it for commutes or query the road out of town to the next city, it will say "Jobs: none" or "traffic: none". This only happens in adjacent cites, not in the main city itself. I've tried removing all the mods and plugins and starting a fresh adjacent city, but still will say no jobs and commuters, even though technically there are. I've also tried importing the big city into a new region and building another adjacent city in that, still the same. So it seems it's the big city itself having the issues. The only thing I haven't tried is fully reinstalled SC4, which I will try now. Also, freight trucks move between the two cities fine. Any ideas or questions? Thanks P

Oh ok I was unawre of that. But even when theres 10,000 jobs in this adjacent city and no residents, with 300,000 residents in the next town, they still show up as having no jobs. BTW - Ive tried creating a brand new region and linking two towns in the same way - and that works fine, they commute between the two no problem. P

Hehe..nice CJ man. Nice to see someone doing a remake of 'Auckland' . I live down in Napier, so have been to Auckland a fair few times. Keep it up!

This city is a substantial amount more impressive than the REAL Wanganui, on the west coast of New Zealand!
