It's been a long time since I've posted here. The new interface is quite nice looking, but I had just gotten used to the last major change.
-
Well that certainly qualifies... Also I re-posted the pic since this forum uses something other than tags... Edit: Either I'm going nuts or the post there was there was deleted...

Looks nice! That sure is a lot of ships (including the one right about to sail into the stern of another! )

Another Teaser, and Admin Council Nominations!
sim-Al2 commented on deathtopumpkins's City Journal Entry in Virgin Shores (4)
Looks promising! -
Nothing you downloaded could possibly have triggered the water graphics bug. The reason you suddenly notice it is that you probably are using beachs a lot more. No SC4 mod will change the registry in any manner.

New style looks nice! I see you've been busy!

Station Capacities for Mac Stations
sim-Al2 replied to redrummage's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Are you using a PC or a Mac? If you have use a Mac, you won't be able to use ILive. If you don't have acess to a PC, you might need to ask someone. -
Nightlights are possible for a Mac, but as I understand something has to be done when making the model which appearently most people don't do, and Aspyr has not ported the nite-lighting patch.
-
I just said as other simulators use different levels and some people recommended lower capacities at first. It's all a matter of preference in the end.
-
Low is probably the best choice for most cities. The higher choices are for really big cities that don't have optimized traffic networks...
-
ESURE?... Never heard of that at all...

Franklin County - 12th Anniversary Update, All-Nighttime Shots of New Riverside Downtown

EMPs... but I'm sure the aliens would have some sort of protection from static discharges... but I guess there's only one way to find out... could I suggest ion cannons too? -
[2009] Lot Editor and Plug-in Manager - Forum Archive
sim-Al2 replied to tvguy's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
TE'ing growables is a bad idea for a few reasons. First, any growable that is TE-ed will never upgrade! And second, having a large number of these lots grow across your city has to potential to make many more intersections, which increase commute times.- 172 Replies

Long Commute that is actually very short!
sim-Al2 replied to uncrazycooper13's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Or you could raise taxes on $$$ a few points, so that before the region is not built up enough, they won't take over... -
Simcity 2000 is also a great game but lacks a lot of SC4's versitility.
-
Actually the Llama is the offical non-listed mascot of Maxis (considering I don't know of an actual offical one. )

Where can I find completed Regions?
sim-Al2 replied to Labtec600's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
But there's plenty of maps (without cities) on the STEX... am I missing something here? -
Open your Graphics Options (press F9) and make sure your "City Detail" is set to high. Default textures and props may not appear if this is set to low.

Now that would be a wild commute... Anyway, this a known problem when two networks using the same path types cross over (or under) each other, commuters using those networks can "jump" from one set to another where they wouldn't normally be able to (like your rail over rail.) As far as I am aware, this could not be fixed except by modifying the .exe, which EA has kept under lock and key for a while now... And the second problem is that those kind of cars are slightly too long to work perfectly on curves, although personally I still like them anyway.

You should make sure that you don't have any of the old conflicting airports installed (I think they were listed on the large FAQ on the site.)
-
You should make sure that the terrain your placing the stations and tollbooths on is flat, because for some reason the game doesn't like TE (transit-enabled) lots on slopes.

... All I can say is wow... So, how will our ships be powered now? And the frigate that was sent by Follomer? -
They simply would cause the traffic simulator to go beserk, as even one car passing over can make them suddenly congested, which makes the sims look for other ways to get to work.

Goody... just what Franklin needs, hostile aliens blowing up their stuff. This isn't going to lead to war, is it?
