SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Silicon Valley legend Steve Jobs on Wednesday resigned as chief executive of Apple Inc in a stunning move that ended his 14-year reign at the technology giant he co-founded in a garage. Wow.. it has been an 'extreme' year.. and it's only August! (Maybe I'm 'just' getting old?!)

From actionbioscience.org The Debate Over Genetically Modified Foods When combining two crops using standard agricultural techniques, genes are allowed to mix at random. A typical example is Triticale, a synthetic hybrid between wheat and rye grown in Europe, which is the result of combining 50,000 largely untested genes, 25,000 from each species. GM crops, in contrast, have specific genes inserted to produce the same desired effect. Biotech plants are now grown on about 130 million acres in 13 countries, including Argentina, Canada, and Germany. In 2001, 3.6 million acres were used for GM crops in the U.S. More than 60% of all processed foods in the U.S. contain ingredients from GM soybeans, corn, or canola. Sorry for the hijack TheHaso2011... Mods, maybe we could move this conversation to General Off Topic?! -

It's always a good idea to check more than one source: Canadian triticale -

The EA site has been off and on for a while.. but I do not understand why the SC4 Devotion link doesn't work for you, I just check it and it's working fine for me... here it is again: Maxis End User License Agreement after reading and accepting the EULA click on the link and it will take you to the updates. Hopefully this helps.

Apparently so are release dates!

Same here - but only if the game went 'open source' after the rights were received.

No matter what one's point of view may be.. name calling does not belong here,,, EVER! It takes great restraint to keep threads on point... Let us take a minute to remember how it felt when we first found this site.. and the fact that we all come from different walks in life.. which is what makes us special... and the world go round.

Is your Mayor rating less than 50? If you have a low Mayor rating... then I am not sure why it is not working... hopefully someone else can help.

S&P issues unprecedented downgrade of US credit rating, saying debt package falls short mmm.. it will be interesting/scary to see how the rest of the world responds to this first ever 'fall from grace'. -

1st quarterly loss ever ...snip.... It includes four of the five biggest cable companies, which have been losing subscribers for years. It also includes phone companies Verizon Communications Inc. and AT&T Inc. and satellite broadcasters DirecTV Group Inc. and Dish Network Corp. These four have been poaching customers from cable, making up for cable-company losses — until now. Is this a sign of the times? Have you / your family cut back on 'in home' entertainment? I've been thinking about it. Not counting the business, the phones, tv and internet access add up to over $ 150.00 (CND) a month. (Not counting extras like long distance charges, usage overages and roaming.)

IMHO if the human species is to last longer than the dinosaurs, we need to incorporate 'green' into everything we do. Have you noticed that in a natural ecosystem there is no such thing as 'waste/garbage? Think about it.. the systems that are naturally in place do not allow for waste, everything is used in one manner or another to contribute TO the health of the environment/system... instead of the destruction of habitat/ ecology the human species has wrought. It's hard to believe but there are many societies around the world that did not even have a word for garbage until the late 20th /early 21st century! When we quit having a 'waste/garbage' problem, we will be a lot closer to being 'green'. .. one Very Crazy Woman's opinion...
