Originally posted by: habibi_JoeYea I know, but that would take too long to fix. Thanks for the feedback, though. I get the impression that I've come back to this site at the tail-end of BAT design popularity. Many of the veterans seem to be gone, or occupied with other things. If things were different maybe I could have become a truly talented BAT artist when I first started. As it is my shoddy skills should have to suffice.quote> That's strange- Just because most of the BSC and NDEX have moved off the STEX - is that what mean by lack of veterans? Hello! We've got new and talented BATer's coming out from everywhere, a lot of them just as good as SimGoober or Equinox or the rest of them (Just check out some of the 3ds Max Users... ) I don't know where you got that idea from that BAT design popularity is dying. From what I've seen looking back at the BAT's from 2004-2005 and now seeing the BAT's from 06-07 coming out I think they are of much better quality than before and the STEX can still turn over a page every few days! Anyway here's something new for me- Another (better) image of one of my strange little models...

Thanks Bixel, couldn't get it to work- Did what you said but the LE still wouldn't let me put the prop on the 2x3 lot. Doesn't matter though- HONG KONG's gonna do it for me Anyway here's the finished model with my sucky night lighting (still a step up from my last attempt though...) EDIT: Sent off to HONG KONG for modding along with Lucky Dragon Chinese Medicinal Herbs. That's 25% of the pack done and ready for release...!

Cockatoo replied to bixel's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Oh, they will go great with the garden estate! Surprised to see my name in the list of people who you want to do your lotting (I've only ever lotted about 10 things or so). Sorry but I don't think I could take on a job like that just yet. -
Okay, I've got the model done now and I'd like to show you it in the game BUT there is something bugging me that I must do first. The actual building fits onto a 2x3 lot just nicely but because of the overhanging sings the Lot Editor will only allow me to place it on a 3x3 lot. For it to be a functional wall to wall I have to have it on a 2x3 lot. Now I think I read somewhere that I need to convert my building to a prop but I have no idea how to do that or if that will even work! How do I get around this problem?!

Something new for my Hong Kong block pack.

Okay, this is gonna be wall to wall on the back but the rest will be detailed as per normal. Almost done with this- Added all the rest of the walls and the roof... and what HK building can be complete without some oversized TV antenna and a 7Eleven sign can it? Thanks for the explanation and Tips Simfox- I think I know what I did wrong with the smoothing groups but I haven’t fixed it yet. I think now that it's got the roof junk it puts the building into perspective a little more.

It's been a while since my last post here... Super- Timo: Un-interesting 3/10 Amerikaner: Very realistic, nice job 9/10 Shadow_prophet: Is that Sim City? Based on Image alone 8/10 Shingure: Nice but very easy to make 6.5/10

This is a city simulation game, not a war game.

Great transport network- your intersections and road layouts all look very good.

Sorry, but no Chap lap Kok today, instead- Tai Po!The Tai Po district is about a 15-30 minute KCR train ride north of Kowloon and is located in Hong Kong's new territories. Up until about the 70's Tai Po was just a rural sort of town until the population started to rise and Hong Kong was forced to build Hi Rises out in the New Territories. Today it has a kinda dirty (Almost slum) mid rise town center (mostly markets and low wealth shops), with a few remaining rice fields out the back which are quickly being taken over by hi-rise residential giants. Some images? The Kowloon-Canton Railway (KCR) running through Tai Po- Probably the main form of transport. CLICK FOR FULL IMAGE CLICK FOR FULL IMAGE Thanks for being patient- I have to split my time now 50/50 between BATing Hong Kong and re-creating Hong Kong. By the way, I'm working on a 'Hong Kong street pack' for a BAT project. Almost done 2 out of about 8 BAT's that'll be in the pack. The first is in the 3rd and 4th image above- see it? EDIT: Here are your replies: ---PAGE 9---Hijodecordoba: Oh thanks for such a nice comment! I’m sure with enough practice and patience anyone could do what I’m doing. KamiKaZantA: Haha, thanks, glad you think so! TRNSTN: How about no? ---PAGE 10--- Hijodecordoba: Yea, they really do! Suplado: Thanks! That is very old now… almost embarrassing… Garby85: Thanks, glad you like it. Juningo: Yep, the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army Forces Building HK. I just use the old name because it’s shorter and easier to remember. Mike the Mayor: Actually I think that BAT was from SC3000, someone re-did it. Cleaner475: Wow, thanks. Glad you like it! Tankmank: Yea, I just plopped it in. There is an easy way to create enough demand to grow Bixel’s ‘monsters’: Just wait until you have an area of high rise residential that you don’t really want in your city (Maybe all up 20,000 people) and just demolish it. It will skyrocket the demand and you’ll be growing them in no time! Also make sure you have the correct zone sizes- there’s a thread in the HKABT team room for that. Bixel: Hey thanks for this- I’ll have to get back to t

Some fantastic looking images there! I have to admit that I really like the way you decked out your navy port, the sand texture looks very good. Nice use of pegasus' walls too- in fact the only criticism I can find is that you're using IMAGESHACK! Use Photobucket please!... this page took about 3 minutes to load for me!!! Photobucket is always much faster. -
That's strange. I'd try re-installing the Rural Roads mod- then run a search on your computer for all the files included in the install and delete them all. If not are you sure you deleted ALL the files in your plugins folder or just the ones in the main directory- Pegasus stuff usually goes to C: MyDocuments/SimCity4/Plugins/PEGPORD

Sorry SimFox, I'm still just a beginner, what are smoothing groups? And where is the clear all button and what consequences could occur if I don't fix this? Thanks tankmank and Insane Child of Bodom- the roof will be mostly Hong Kong style roof junk but a little garden of a tennis court isn't a bad idea... Anyway the front wall textured: EDIT: The left wall- If I decide to make this Wall to wall then this is almost done.

From what I've seen so far... YES! I think just quietly that this could be the game that we wanted- the Sim City 5 that we never got.
