This is really great. I've already got several of them grow up in my cities. A very good relief to IH demand. The detail is excellent.
  2. Realism Project / Mod Development

After hour and a half of reading and skimming this thread, I wrote this up. It should be useful to help some new subscribers to catch up and attract some workforces if t7t could concatenate his post at the first page with this. Anyway to some extent, I guess I possibly misinterpret something here so you need to edit them first -- A SUMMARY ON IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENTS IN THIS PROJECT -- PLEASE READ -- 1. t7t had come up with the idea of building an ultra realistic region with intention to yield the realistic MOD for SC4 from this region-growing process. This MOD will make the region grow, run along in the game and yet possible to present most aspects and figures of the real-world such as populations, jobs, transportation network etc. (page 1) 2. Several members had nominated several cities and there were several well-thought comments being made and analyzed. Finally, there's the vote and the winner was Vancouver. (page 1-4) 3. On 7/10/2004, A Killer Ewok proposed that he had a lot of DEMs of Vancouver and he's willing to share. (page 5) 4. On 7/19/2004, DonD13 proposed a draft plan on this project. (page 5) 5. There're some discussions about the map. (page 5) 6. On 8/6/2004, Motina posted his Vancouver grayscale map. (page 5) And There're some continuous discussions about map scaling (page 6). He put his map to the MEX on 8/31/2004. (page 6) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Personally, I wish to see this project carry along to the end. I can contribute to some level like city building and few BATs. And hey Ewok, a little bit about organizer, I think I have time to do this. But my reputation and SC4 experience here is obviously far from solid enough. t7t, anyway is the best person but he just doesn't have enough time....

Not sure whether only me get this.. It employs 18K IM job, consume 3000+ elec. 40000+ water. If you're intended to set it, I think it too high for this 4x4 building. This model is fine, looking good anyway.

I imitated this 16-storey condo from real-life buildings in Muang Thong, Bangkok. In game, the height is close to Copur Apartment but the size is much bolder. It's stage 7, R$$ with 2,500 residents (or 4,500 R$ when deteriorated). There are 2 Lot formations attached here -- 5x4 and 5x6, not much decorated. So, feel free to tweak them. No dependencies for this set, but make sure you have all updates from Maxis. Have fun, and Thanks for every comments if yor have. ------------- Further development and update on this building are here. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=55592 Update V.2 ------------ - Trimming LOD at the base, placing props close to the building is now possible. - Fix unreasonable properties values on garbage and water consumption. - Readme included.

    Wow, fishy looking, very nice.
  6. Realistic Desert Regions

Oops!, didn't notice that at first glance. BTW, as I see in my dictionary here. It states that saguaro can grow to 20m in height. But I think that the larger might look strange and awkward. Yours are already looking good.
  7. Realistic Desert Regions

Yeah, from your post I'd say that it's perfectly matched to dessert terrain. My suggestion is to make them in many varieties. Have you tried different branch and stem configutions such as 2 or 4 stems?
