When did you get Sim City 4?
djcool345 replied to Mr Saturn64's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I want to say I got it in 2004. I was 11 then, and I ran it on old Compaq that was rather...incompetent. I'm still bad at it though! I paid for the game 3 times. Well the first two, vanilla and rush hour, were from my parents. I bought the Deluxe Edition on Steam a year or two ago. I've probably put more hours into that game than any other. -
...this...this one is just plain insulting. My intelligence is offended.

The largest city ever, I mean ever
djcool345 replied to paulmc's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I've played Simcity for years but I didn't get real good at it until about 2 years ago, I started a city that would eventually grow to 950,000 people, with a bustling commercial downtown. It didn't look too ugly either. I posted a fairly popular video of it on youtube but I took all my videos down recently. Since I had so many loose mods in my plugins and so many large cities I had to reinstall my game, and I've just started a new region. My largest city in the new region is on a medium tile and has 170,000 people. -

I live just outside Cleveland, in the area between the suburbs and the city, where it's still dirty and cramped, but I go out to the suburbs a lot. The bus network goes all the way out there but I never see anyone use it. Yet, at my high school at least 50 kids use the bus network to get to and from school everyday, including me.And the bus is usually pretty crowded. The urban sprawl and fall of industry in 60's and 70's really ruined a lot of cities. And it is true what they say about 1 in 13 cities being vacant here, I can probably spot 2 from my window.

I hate the..... Fact that it crashes on newer computers, mostly because the cities are so big, when I didnt save. Horrible zoning on diagonal roads, the horrible rich people that build mansions that take up entire city blocks that ruin your zones,so no one else will ever be able to build there unless you rezone. I dont like the unrealistic civic buildings that look nothing like police stations, schools, etc. that I've seen. Buildings that dont mix in with the surrondings, for example a tiny suburban house in between 2 big skyscrapers.

All new cartoons are extremely dumb and aren't funny at all,now looney toons,scooby-doo,etc. were all good shows. Now anyone can throw any idea out and it instantly makes millions of dollars just because the kids think its cool. As for the thread I thought you meant cartoon network got raided by cops or maybe identity theft,I don't know, maybe I'm being random...

Seemingly Random Crashes to Desktop
djcool345 replied to Cardinal-Red's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
This isnt really helpful but whenever I play this one huge region I have,it usually crashes in less than an hour, because of the size of the cities I guess,it also happens a lot when I zoom in and out and move around a lot, I HATE it.
