  1. HKABT Langham Place In Hong Kong v2

    Version 2

    12,004 Downloads

The Hong Kong / Asia BAT Team presents Langham Place 2 BAT and statue prop created by Skyfire2275 New texture supplied by DragonAnime - thanks a ton! Modding, lot design, readme & custom menu icons by T Wrecks Introduction / Overview This is a new version of the already released Langham Place BAT by Skyfire2275. This new version is 100% identical in terms of functionality, but the model is presented with a new look. This version was originally made for DragonAnime with a texture he sent to Skyfire2275. The outcome was so good that we decided to release this new black edition as well. Of course it's not really black, but it's so dark that the term 'black' is used to differentiate it from the original blue version. If you already have the original Langham Place download, or if you are planning to get both, you can rest assured that there will be no conflicts whatsoever. Langham Place is the tallest skyscraper in Kowloon, Hong Kong. At a height of 255 m (837 ft), it is also the 8th tallest building in Hong Kong as of 2006. Probably the most distinctive eye-catcher is the hemispherical top that features different lighting schemes during the weekends. While this is next to impossible in SC4, the building itself (including its diagonal orientation and the modern art statue in front of the main entrance) has been recreated faithfully for SC4, although the base has been adapted to the game. In total, the following versions are available: Ploppable landmark Ploppable functional CO$$$ Growable CO$$$ building Note: Ploppable and landmark versions feature individual custom menu icons that will allow you to see immediately which version is which. Moreover, both versions are to be found conveniently grouped together near the bottom of your landmark menu. Dependencies Props: Statue Prop (included) Textures:
  2. Word Play

This game comes from Sporeum. Credit to Thundercry. This is really simple. Post a word that begins with a letter that the previous word. Like that: Poster A: muffin Poster B: neon Poster C: no Poster B: opaque Poster A: 2 post rule B!!! eon And so on and so forth... Try not to repeat words. I'll start it off with: Simtropolis
  3. Use this topic to post anything intersting you find related to Asian architecture... I figure it can be sort of a picture repository of buildings. If you have any great website for pictures, post links here to. I can also be inspiring for the "What should I build next?" question. I know there were some in the old thread... some just clutter ( ) and some that were just simply amazing. One day I might move them over here. I got the best ones that I remember. In the General Off-Topic Forum, somebody posted a link to an article about the 15 best skylines in the world... The topic can be found here. And the article can be found here. Lots of Asian cities get top marks. In the article, I found this picture, which I thought I would share as it shows what a lot of the buildings look like at night. It can be found here. WARNING--It is large. EDIT: This is my 2000th post! Yeah! EDIT #2: Here are some more links to great websites and pictures from the old thread: http://www.globalphotos.org/hongkong.htmquote> WOW!!! Check this image out.. It's a huge panoramic view of Hong Kong at night... WARNING: It's 2 MB!!! http://www.osterkamps.de/hongkong/archives/bilder/skyline_gross.jpg I think I would get banned if I posted it here, lol... 13723x2523 pixels... My computer is having a heart attack thinking about it.quote> Large satelite image: http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/HKIslandAerial_2.jpg Panoramic: http://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/HongKong2Ca.jpgquote>
  4. Count to 1000 with pictures!

This game come sfrom Sporeum. Credit goes to Nightfawx. This is easy, count in order (by intervals of 1), integers only starting from 1... and add a pic of that number. I'll start. 1
  5. Hey guys. I'm still alive, I just have no time for computer games... as you can tell it has been more than 2 years since I logged on. Doing a Ph.D. in Physics. Not sure why I logged on right now to tell you the truth... Anyways, leave my thread locked as you have done. Good call on that. I'm not planning on a return, not even sure if I will read the follow ups to this or not. Maybe. Hope all is well. And keep up the good work!
  6. Ok, since we have our own sub-forum now, I figured I would move all my stuff into my oen thread! I will leave everything else where it is and just pick up where I left off. If you want to see the original thread, it can be found here. I will use this thread to post my progress, collect feedback and hopefully get pictures of the buildings that I am working on from the people who read this thread. This first post will be used to indicated my progress on my projects as well as links to finished projects (whenever that begins to happen, lol). I will update this post as I make progress. Current Projects: Building Location Status To Do List Cheung Kong Centre Hong Kong 100% None - Uploaded 3 Feb. 2007 Langham Place Hong Kong 100% None - Uploaded 25 Aug. 2006 Shun Hing Square Shenzhen 100% None - Uploaded 2 Sept. 2006 Hopewell Centre Hong Kong 20% Too much to list here. A good example is the chicken little attitude displayed by the Senate in creating the Homeland Security outfit, thus completing the transition from a plutocratic oligarchy into a police state. If your politicians are capable of knee-jerk reactions like that, I would call that chaos. Your senate is supposed to be a chamber of sober second thought, not a bunch of self-aggrandizing petty autocrats who really think only of keeping their job. Electing justice officials is just about as chaotic. What reason would you have for such nonsense? This gives justice a bad name, in fact, in the United States she has become a prostitute to the election process. This isn't the way things should be. Those are a couple of Canadian thoughts. And you wonder if we could ever join the U.S.? Hah!quote> Wow... that's some pretty broad and harsh views there. Just so that everyone knows, not all Canadians are like this. I'm not anti-US... I'm just not a fan of some of Bush's foreign policies. And as far as my reasons for not joining the US. Consider this: Canada's population is a measly 32 million people... (To put that in perspective, the US is about 10 times bigger at 300 million) we'd be a tiny minority in the US and our opinions would not even matter and no matter how we voted (if we all voted the same way), it would not affect the outcome of any election. Joining the US would cause our voice to be lost.
  11. bridges

I have no idea and I don't think anyone else here does either... or they would have posted about it. Read through some of the threads about bridges and maybe you will find out for yourself something about it. Sorry that I cannot help you anymore than suggesting where to start looking.
  12. Different elevated rail supports

If you read ardecila's thread, you would know this: Originally posted by: ardecila I don't have a permanent place to host it, and I'm not gonna upload it to the STEX yet - it's not ready for mass consumption. YouSendIt only works for 7 days.quote> So, please, next time try to read a bit. It will be on the STEC when it is complete... for the meantime, be patient and check the thread regularly. It is possible that ardecils will upload it again when it's worth it.

  16. Many Canadians fear third world war looms

Stupidest survey ever. These "researchers" probably got money from the taxpayer to waste on this garbage. Just disgusting. Originally posted by: Dragontempest AS a history major... As for Canada to become apart of the US... isn't already? its just an independent autonomous region or "state". take a look at several countries throughout the world and you will see the same thing it just with Canada its not as obvious. IE Denmark-Greenland, Russia-Siberia, Britian-Scotland. Please forgive me if I upset anyone, I truly mean disrespect if I did cause somequote> As you are a history major I suggest you get your facts straight. Canada is an independent nation. The US has NO CLAIM WHATSOEVER over Canada or it's land. Am I offended by your comments? No... but I am angry that you have your so-called "facts" that wrong. Greenland is a Danish territory that is self-administered (semi-autonomous). It is like Canada was to Britain before independence. Scotland is more like the Canada-Quebec relationship. It is physically part of Britain but with a different culture and government... and is not totally autonomous. Siberia is also physically part of Russia and is not independent. Canada is an independent nation and in no way part of the US... it NEVER has been and likely never will be (though I cannot say for sure, because I have no interest in debating this point). As far as Canada is concerned the US can do whatever it wants (I mean nothing illegal) and we can similarly do the same. US wants to invade Iraq? Go ahead... we didn't. The US doesn't have any loyalty of the Queen of England at all. We do. She is the head of state here, represented by the Governor General, who believe it or not is the most powerful government official in the country. Though in practice that is the Prime Minister. Canada has NO LOYALTY WHATSOEVER to the US nor to it's president, he is just another foreign leader, albeit of our neighbour and largest trading partner and of one of the most powerful countries in the world. Yes, we cooperate on many fronts where both countries agree that it is mutually beneficial, but we also disagree on many things (US has lax gun laws compared to most western countries, we have gay marriage, etc...) So, I have no idea what you are talking about, but before you go stating "facts" again, I suggest you do some research and find out whether they are true or not.

  19. NAM General Discussion Thread

N_O_Body and SimRabbit: You bot hhave the same problem. When you install the new NAM you must manually remove ALL OLD NAM files first. The new installer DOES NOT overwrite all of the old stuff due to the changes made to the core files of the NAM itself. So go back, delete ALL NAM related stuff and try again.

  21. I'd Rather...

This forum game comes from Sporeum. Credit goes to Thundercry. Ok, so the first person says "I'd rather A than B". The next person says "I'd rather B than C" and so on. Example: A- I'd rather drink tea, than drink molten led. B- I'd rather drink molten led, than watch Oprah. C- I'd rather watch Oprah, then ... I'll start with something easy: I'd rather drink tea than drink coffee.

  25. High Speed Rail Project

This is the HSRP thread... not the GLR thread. I don't know where that one went, you'll have to search for it. But I will answer you question anyways... To make GLR go over ground highways, just use the GLR--> El-rail and drag the el-rail over the highways and use the GLR-->el-rail piece again to get it back on the ground to GLR.
