ANDREMORE - CENTRAL STATION: This is Central Station. Local passengers rarely use it, but this is THE station for long distance rail travelers. ANDREMORE - ANDREMORE NATIONAL AIRPORT (ANA): This small airport is primarily used for business travelers because of its close proximity to downtown. Most recreational use Kaylynn International Airport (KIA) which is just to the southwest of Bucy. ANA is accessible via the I-81 exit or a less conspicuous exit off of I-15 (seen in the first picture). Because ANA is adjacent to a cliff, the avenue runs from the highway through a tunnel to the airport. KAYLYNN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KIA): This airport services the majority of the entire Andremore metropolitan area. The airport is approximately six miles south of downtown Andremore (right off of I-205) and about two miles north of I-5/I-405 (which when complete will be the Beltway). It has two main terminals, eight runways, two short-term parking lots, and three long-term parking lots. The airport is currently undergoing a beautification project, but since it is brand new, this is not a priority. PORT OF ANDREMORE: All of the importing and exporting for the city of Andremore and several (but not all) surrounding regions is done through this port. At the far north, there is also a Cruise Ship Port for international travelers. ANDREMORE - NAVAL PORT:

Thanks for the comments (especially Schulmanator... gotta love the flag). robbieboro: I will delve into the port area in the next update. Jman47: All of the residential and industrial buildings are grown naturally. Most of the skyscrapers I plopped for variety and to keep up with demand. The simulator was not keeping up with the commercial demand very effectively, and when it did, the building selection was not all that desirable. So, I molded my own downtown.

You're city is frickin' amazing. Your downtown is really nice. I would like to see a region view of this one!

ANDREMORE - DOWNTOWN: As you can see, Downtown Andremore has two main sections flaunting the tallest skyline in the country---Hilton and Marton; Hilton to the northeast, Marton to the southwest. In between is the oldest section of town where the city and county government operates. Andremore, despite being the largest city in the State is not Walteria's capital, but it serves as Grace County's county seat. ANDREMORE - DOWNTOWN - HILTON: Hilton is the newer section of town. Development is still taking place in this area, though it has slowed significantly as real estate is become more scarce and valuable. The bright, colorful skyline and modern buildings advertise this area's novelty. Downtown can be spotted from tens of miles at night even when the buildings are not visible because the lights saturate the night sky. ANDREMORE - DOWNTOWN - MARTON: Marton, being a slightly older section of town than Hilton is more modest with its greater share of older-style buildings. The building lights are significantly more modest at night. This area statistically is geared more toward corporate and financial business and less toward marketing and commerce.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. granto93: Thanks for the info about the bridges. The inner city is very griddy, outside of the highways, many parkways, and necessary curves. However, look to the north and northeast. There are many small bedroom communities outside of the city limits (and surrounding major cities) that boast your typical suburban neighborhood.

ANDREMORE - DOWNTOWN AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS: ANDREMORE - COMMERCIAL DISTRICTS: Andremore is the largest city in the country, boasting a skyline that puts some of the world's most notorious skylines to shame. Downtown is the primary business district (obviously) but has some very interesting entertainment areas like Chinatown and the Borg Entertainment Center. However, Midtown is known for being Andremore's nightlife entertainment center. One could go to Midtown, stay there for the day for the kids and enjoy a night on the town. There is direct subway access from the many hotels downtown right to the heart of Midtown. Easton is currently a large business center but is quickly changing into an Education center. Once the Zoo was constructed, several museums and even an Aquarium was proposed for this area. We'll see. Many commuters fly by Weston during their daily commute Downtown, but hardly ever stop to enjoy what it has to offer--some high class shopping and lounging. Downtown still overshadows Weston's luxurious atmosphere, but the winds are trying to change. Sheraton is a small hotel district consisting of about ten high-rise Sheraton hotels with el-rail and subway access to other parts of the city. As Easton changes, direct access from Shearton to Easton will be created via subway. ANDREMORE - HIGHWAY SYSTEM: Andremore has a very elaborate highway system. The Midtown Spur that connects 205 and 305 is a very busy interchange.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. magnet50: I got the Coca Cola building off the STEX. I can't figure out how to search it these days, but when that becomes possible again, you can just type it in and get it. It is by simgoober. chocolate_city: That's just the standard Ground-Elevated Highway Y-intersection that is part of Rush Hour. The other four-way interchange was in the NAM. shizu00: Yeah, we're all pulling for her. Hopefully she'll make it through this OK.

R-(C+I)=unemployment/false commute

I think some of it may also have to do with extrapolation. When playing a city, the other cities around the active one are growing and providing more jobs/residences for citizens in surrounding cities. -
How are people taking these pictures of their entire region and also without all the buttons across the top and without the region information in the bottom left corner. I have not been able to figure out how to do it. Please Help!!!

Exactly. And in the same breath, how about allowing us to select which neighborhoods (or sections of the grid) a school/hospital, etc, services instead of putting an unrealistic radius. As needs change, we can add more grid or take away grid from our selection. Anyway, I'm getting off topic. Roads are one of the most important things in any city... and one of the most space consuming. I didn't even realize how much space they take up until I was looking at a scale map and saw how the highway width could fit about 8-10 houses. Take that width and spread it across 20 miles and think about how much room that is. They look so thin and streamline on maps because they go such long distances that we forget how much room they should actually take up on our city maps. Those 6 lane highways (3 on each side) currently in the game should probably be taking up 3 squares already... (notice how the highway lanes are thinner than the road lanes). I'm thinking there's a 2 to 1 ratio between lanes and grid squares. For the next Simcity, Maxis would probably need to use a higher resolution grid and bigger maps. a 12 lane highway would be 6 grids wide... which is actually realistic. Funny how I keep saying Maxis... it's EA now.

I think for the next Simcity, Maxis needs to allow us to build roads on a lane by lane basis. You can have the following tools: street lane, road lane, avenue lane, ground highway lane (no siding), ground highway lane (with guardrail), ground highway lane (with noise barriers), elevated highway lane, etc. You can start with a single lane that is one- directional; if you want two directions, drag a lane in the opposite direction. As you build your lanes, the sidewalks move outward, medians get built, etc. This will give you ultimate control of your streets. This would also give you complete control over your interchanges rather than selecting from a set of pre-made interchanges. You will have control of the placement of the ramps, how many lanes exit, where the lanes go, etc. It would require a more sophisticated method of road building (curve roundness, lane elevation, etc.) but it would make things a helluva lot more fun in my opinion.

Here is New Moses. I sort of abandoned this project because I was not happy with the waterfont anymore and there was not much i could do with it without some serious overhauling. Also, tragedy with the land value in NW New Moses caused serious problems; but, this is the best downtown I've made so far: http://img201.echo.cx/img201/4257/newmosesy661downtownsouth1xz.jpg align=baseline> http://img100.echo.cx/img100/2292/newmosesy645downtownn1of.jpg align=baseline> http://img140.echo.cx/img140/5701/newmosesy520downtownwest8we.jpg align=baseline> http://img140.echo.cx/img140/1834/newmosesy500downtownclose3fb.jpg align=baseline> http://img140.echo.cx/img140/1220/newmosesy520downtowneast4lh.jpg align=baseline> http://img140.echo.cx/img140/7258/newmosesy520downtowneastn6zb.jpg align=baseline> http://img140.echo.cx/img140/4660/newmosesy520downtownwestn8oy.jpg align=baseline> Downtown is very visible from the region view: http://img232.echo.cx/img232/8318/eastcoasty6653lr.jpg align=baseline> Hotel District: http://img211.echo.cx/img211/480/newmosesy645hoteldistrict8pw.jpg align=baseline> Entertainment District: http://img146.echo.cx/img146/6201/nnewmosesy323sapphirecitywestn.jpg align=baseline> http://img146.echo.cx/img146/9376/nnewmosesy323sapphirecityn9fv.jpg align=baseline> More shots of various areas around the region are available in my city journal (see signature below).

This has got to be the greatest city I've seen so far. GOOD WORK! Creative use of the walls and different lots, great highways, everything... ...
-
Gotta love the local park! I also like how you have your downtown (or main street) running along the canal.
-
I really like your city (especially the beachfront property) but a lot of the picture links were broken. I would like to see what's missing.

They should show up quite near the top of the list. It depends on wich lots do you already have installed. I have + 500 lots installed and mine appear from the seventh position in this menu. Hope you find them ¡¡¡¡ quote> Thanks! I'll look for it there next time I play.

Yes, I unzipped it. The file that was in the zip file is sitting in my plugins folder. How do you use them? Is there a tool that places them or do they automatically appear when you lower the terrain to a certain depth?

Your region is TIGHT!!! How'd you get such a wide zoom on the region like that?
