SimCity (2013): Amusement Park DLC, Release Date: May 28, 2013

EA has confirmed funfair DLC for its controversial 2013 reboot of SimCity after it temporarily appeared on a retailer website.

While it was quickly removed, the SimCity Amusement Park Pack DLC briefly appeared on UK retailer Green Man Gaming.

The blurb for the expansion offered SimCity players the chance "build the amusement park of your dreams, right in the middle of your city." The description also offered "classic rides, vehicle rides and thrill rides."

"Will you focus [on] the aesthetic look or maximising your profits? Perhaps you can have the best of both worlds," concluded the description.

Following the leak, the official SimCity Twitter feed confirmed a May 28 release for the DLC.

"Some of you may have seen thrilling new #SimCity content that arrived too early at the gate. It’s coming May 28. We think you’ll be amused," wrote the account.

So, a Roller Coaster Tycoon expansion pack...

Yes, it's a bit more interesting than the tourist attractions, but to me, it still doesn't seem very SimCity related. Since when has building and managing a theme park been the primary focus?

Like with all these DLC additions, they're essentially plop and forget. After all, who would want a dinosaur or a theme park in every city?

Surely a few additional generic RCI buildings would have better use for all player types. I'm not a big fan of everything being "themed" or built to a pre-set style.

Where, oh where, will people be able to fit these in their cities with Balls of Twine and Giant Garden Gnome landmarks from buying all that toothpaste, and amongst their Nissan Leaf dealerships?

You obviously have to build a new city to fit in this theme park. Hooray for city specialization!

"Will you focus [on] the aesthetic look...?"

Aesthetics?! Take a look at scale and proportions (and colors and textures and... oh well) ... then we talk about "aesthetics" again.

About the only thing that would be cool about this is seeing it all lit up at night.

And I believe the site that had it posted briefly had it listed for $10

And then there are those who suck down whatever it is the company gives them and smile blankly. (This is in regards to Fans want amusement park - Fans get amusement park - fans complain) which doesn't seem to be listed anymore... What happened...

Fans want amusement park.  Fans get amusement park.  Fans complain.

really? I haven't seen much call for DLC...I've seen lots of people calling for bigger maps, offline play, and fewer restrictions.
