Evillions was asking about more urban areas .... so... It has been some time since I have been in my Port of Auckland tile, so I thought I would pay a visit... so with the MTP Res & Com replacement mod folder safely on my desktop... let us proceed... enter at your own risk! This is going to be as much an adventure for me as it is for you! Looks familiar... Don't remember seeing that there before... K... not bad... Well that's pretty I guess... Right... Yup... Mhm.. Eww... OK... waterfront not bad... ...

Onward!

Onward! Right then... the first thing about these plop-a-matic heat and eat, streams is that yes you can leave them as they are... but with just a sprinkling of fairy dust, from the MM flora menu... what could have the potential to look the same, same... yup that bend looks like the one further up kind of thing... well you can start to make things look pretty spiffy indeed. Especially if you are like me and are not afraid to mix things around a little... and even shock... ...use some other...

Pine Trails ... Sans Pines Well the PEG Pine trails are lovely of course... but sometimes the pines that line the trails tend to hide the scene... fine if you are at ground level, inhaling all that wonderful pine scent.. but not so good if you want to see what is going on from above. So I decided to whip up some 'Sans Pine' Pine trails... in LE. Of course if you take all the pines out it looks a little bare... So let's compromise... mix and match, the originals with the sans pine trails.. we get the...

Schiffenburg Ford Quote from: abcvs from over at that other site he hangs around... I just had an ephiany.... what would happen if I put the Schiffenburg set back in (I take them out when I am not using them cos they take up a lot of menu space...) used the SAM cobbled street and the rock cobbled ford... Damn cows keep getting out... Nothing to see here people... move along please...

Millers Ford

Millers Ford Up in the hills behind Clevedon Bay is the small settlement of Millers Ford. There is a school, a mill, and a little further up the road, a mine and a small saw mill. Bean Rock

Ararimu - Rail Construction I need to break out a new tile, for all that new logging stuff. There is a bit of a hollow basin area in the lower left corner... that is where I need to build the town, but if it is going to be a log town, then I am going to need a rail line. The road and rail neighbour connections back to Camp Greenlake are hard to see, but are on the bottom edge of the tile. The rail will eventually pass all the way though Camp Greenlake, Clevedon River and eventually to Clevedon Bay to the...

Originally posted: May 24 2008 I am not a realism freak by any stretch of imagination, but this was one of my more satisfying efforts. The only thing I can pick about it now, is that the rail causeway was made pre-FARR... that's OK... even 18 months later I still think it kicks buttock.

Messing with grassy bank canals... OK then... this is using only the new PPond terrain stuff and a little bit of the moss from the original PPond, and scrub brush. Started with a basic 8m ditch, and 1/4 Tahoe... ...then layered in the different grasses... and a smattering of Vandy Lions... ...and now with a little RRP pasture stuff... the yellow RRP flowers and the PPond yellow flowers do blend rather nicely methinks. ...and there is some nice spiky grass in the RRP set as well. ...and a bridge...

MTP - Narrow Pine Trails I have made some new, narrower pine trail pieces... in LE... along with a bonus ranger station, camp office. They are still pretty alpha... Narrow trails work well and look good with the sway bridge. Wide to narrow transition.

Cossey's Reservoir and Power House A little more progress on the Upper Mangatawhiri tile. Cossey's Power House. Young hooligans have been out with the spray cans again... This is the bridge I made for the tutorial... now detailed. I have tried something a little different with the terrain detailing this time... I think it came out OK. While I love the pines... I have been looking for a way to represent the NZ bush... Hemblem's tropical trees are pretty good for this, nice and green and lush.

How To Switch From Right To Left Hand Drive Original Author: Etherian | Last Updated 5/3/09 at 11:22 AM There are two major steps. Part one of two Locate and go to the directory where you have installed SC4, usually it is C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe Within this directory, you will see a folder name English, it should contain a file called SimCityLocale, if it does, you are looking at the correct folder. Now rename this folder from English to UKEnglsh (not a typo!) Part two of two From...

Five Locks Canal

Five Locks Canal Now that Upper Lake Tahoe covers the corners of 4 tiles I thought that it might be cool use the new PPond locks (currently in beta over at Simpeg) to build a canal up to it. Upper Lake Tahoe... down to sea level... ...should be 'straight' forward enough... *Cracks knuckles... Levelling the terraces with single road tiles... the canal pieces need level terrain. Showing the 'step' where the lock will be built. One of the 'terrace' levels. The highest point of the canal. Initially the...

Ararimu - The Long and Winding Road This is the tile that I have been developing, since the extended logging stuff was released, and it has also provided a testing ground for my MTP-SPAM Residential Growables. So this is a MTP-Logging-SPAM grafted hybrid tile! Let's go zoom one for a point of reference. Small logging town in the valley flatlands, supported by a SPAM agricultural community, and a wider pine plantation, with sparse residential up the 'long and winding road' out of town. In this tile I have...

Wairoa Reservoir

Wairoa Reservoir Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days. Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic. Yes, yes... I know I haven't been around for a bit. Well then, if I am actually going to do a proper CJ update I am going to have to remember a few things... Like... how to play the game. Seriously. :: rummages around for disc 2 :: Right... well since my last update, I now have a different laptop; the last one that replaced my old faithful dv5 only...

Halleujah!

Halleujah! I have slowly been achieving higher levels of saintification! Pegasus has been developing a new church reward pack... to replace the generic what the heck is that religion supposed to be Maxis House of Worship ones. These are my nicest pics from my latest round of beta testing over at Simpeg. Starting at the bottom of the hill is the Holy Roller Chapel, then the Holier Roller Chapel and finally the Holy Mountain Church. The fourth church in the reward series is the OMG Evangelical Church. The...

A Splash of Colour

A Splash of Colour Yup... that is the same stream as the one one in the previous update... but I decided it was too straight, so I kinked it up a little... Oh yeah this is the new what the heck does he call it again...? ... the PEG PPond Terrain Prop Pack 1... now in beta over at the Pegamod's place... PPond Flora Pack must have sounded too girly... Check out Bean Rock!

Snow Business

Well there is no business like snow business, so on with the snow...! I have never used a snow mod before... but I am very impressed with the effect. The PEG Snow mod is currently being re-worked over at Simpeg... and hopefully a new Snow Super Pack will be ready for December! Causeway Island... the mountain spring has iced up. Close up of the terrain detailing... the 'summer' flora is turned off. Wow... those pine forests look great from a distance on zoom 1. This was a nice surprise... my custom...
