Goober Town :-)

View Album This city is still growing in many parts, while some districts are mostly done. So our extended hike will take a few days... We start in the north-west corner with some remaining farms past the waste facility... Next time(s) we'll visit fancy eastern suburbs, small docking services, the district's huge freight truck station, dense downtown RES and COM, and some small nearby 'hamlets', all busy restaurating... and with some facilities still under construction...

Goober Town Part III

View Album Still got a little backlog from 2013... But finally got around to wrap up this city... :-) A quick look at a modest CBD... But main focus is on the story of the large produce yard - established in the 40s, it had reached a point where it was just too small for the many products from the region (and the large modern rigs)... an overview - The old North Fruit and Vegetable Yard, where drivers would get into fistfights frequently over who could pull in or out first... it is scheduled to be torn...

Just Another Waterfront

You see, it was built on the of side this guy here - Then one day I SimGod decided to unleash a little bad weather and disaster and have some fun... yeah well, that lasted until I blacked out and did something... very... VERY... wrong... So here is just a parting shot - the last we'll ever see of this once-well-to-do town...

View Album Today we visit Adamson, a small community at Mt. Adam's eastern flank... It boasts a highly modern W2E facility, along with some old-fashioned, on-the-way-out logging... Modern times have arrived with the new university complex... New shopping center started a building boom... The brewers are here to stay though... Adamson features some ambitious bridges and tunnels for roads and railway... The Kingston Market draws many visitors from the region... All in all a rather peaceful town, even at...

Another Mountainview attraction for some hiking are the Three Falls - Overview The quarters in the west with the St. Barbara Church... Quarters in the east with another kind of temple... The cablecar station... Old Pyynikki observation tower with restaurants... A 5star hotel with golf course... Flyover of the three falls... Recently I dug through a shoebox with old photos and found this - On the back was scribbled: Mountainview ... So I decided to return and search for this place... The old folks told me to just follow the river and take a right on each culvert, bridge, ford or other means of crossing over... Passing the old church with its ancient cemetary bound to vanish with the next floodwater... Reaching the higher areas of the forest... At Finn's Landing I cross the river with a raft over to Old Bob's Place... Still...

Well, I'm terribly sorry, but I got hit with sanctions for exceeding my bandwidth (the manner in which this has been done will be a matter for a rant at another place and time)... So here are the images, a bit hapazard because the upload module is not comfortable - but at least the pics are available... I'll fix everything up once I get these issues sorted. Castle River

Pack your lunch box - long ride ahead... This was a rather difficult tile to work with, lots of steep terrain and no room to work along the river banks... it's a mainly scenic tile - aside from some farms there is no industry, the 3500 residents commute to the western neighbor for industrial jobs. The small commercial units scattered among the residential sites cater mostly to the tourists and are mainly small B'n'B hotels, restaurants and shops. So just get on a boat or a bus and enjoy the sights... Hope...
