Q&A

Here we go: Q: What's your journey of playing SC4? A: I first heard SC4 in 2015 (age 11) from a SimCity 4 thread (equivalent to topics here) on Kaskus, an Indonesian forum site for everything. SimCity 4 teaches me about city planning, which is a departure from racing games and soccer (or football in the rest of the world). Then, I moved to Minecraft and hadn’t touched SC4 ever since. I seriously playing the game in 2017, when I had a trouble with a server which I don’t want to discuss here since discussing...

I'm Sorry but It's Over

Hello, I'm sorry but this CJ is over. Reinvented is (maybe) also over. Why? Because the city has no appeal other than efficiency, which can be replicated elsewhere. Don't get wrong, my CJ is still useful, but not as appealing as like, you know. I also make a wrong start. So, I decided to make this series over. It doesn't mean that I literally give up from CJ or even SC4 in general. I (may) still play the city locally and I'll certainly bring appealing contents in the future. This isn't the end for my...

The Last Thing I'll Do

Hello, I'm sorry. I'm so bored with this CJ. But, I don't give up, yet. I still have another plan for the CJ: develop the west plain. That will be last area I'll develop. I'll focus myself to make contents that actually matters, and not "wasting time". Don't get wrong, this is still a useful CJ. But since I don't have any feedback, I decided to end this CJ right after my plan completed. What do you think? Thanks.

Hello, There's unfortunate happened in The Origin. The aggressive development of Point Zero districts and the Marina causes the traffic to not go into other districts. This is very bad news for other districts. They don't have many traffics anymore and businesses other than the quad (I should correct this to the penta, which includes Marina, North Point Zero, South Point Zero, North Waterville and South Waterville) are bankrupting due to no traffic. I'm sorry for allowing this to happened. I should stay...

Hello, The Mayor Who Ruled That City officially announced the Timbuktu City Investment Authority this day. The TCIA first investment is the construction of commercial rows within the Marina and Point Zero districts, The Origin. TMWRTC said, "We have acquired 30% stake on 2 projects and we get $142,560 of $475,200 coming from buildings sold. The prospects of two projects are really good, especially when Point Zero districts and Marina are becoming the next Downtown Dubai." And yet his claim is true. So far,...

Hello, Just a year from one year completion of the Marina revamp, the Point Zero districts are also revamped with the same treatment. This results in another 65 K addition to the quad's commercial population within a year. That's faster than building Dubai! 6 months ago, Now, What do you think? Thanks.

Hello, I recently revamped the Marina. It now has the region's largest skyscraper complex. It's inspired by Dubai Marina (https://goo.gl/maps/ntXkXzNg81fn1eRV6). It crazily changes the quad (Point Zeroes, Marina, and Waterville) commercial population to around 75,000, up from 15,000. It starts from the interchange. You'll greeted by 2 mayor statues. To this. And this, It still has the marina and helipad you love. Oh, don't forget that the neighbor is slightly changed but not much. What do you think? Thanks.

Hello, I'm sorry. I announce that this CJ is both the first and the last Reinvented series. Why do I make this decision? The terrain of Maxis regions aren't flexible for large population and/or structures. I don't find the regions to be have some appeal. I'm even considering regions with magical appeal to have some kingdoms in it. I don't get much feedback. That's it for now. I may change my mind. Thanks.

Hello, The Origin has been officially signed a contract with Timbuktu City to provide 15,000 MWh of nuclear-hydrogen power to Timbuktu City, specifically the Going to Other districts and Edge Industrial District. Mayor Defacto said, "This is the partnership to eliminate the reliance on gas powered plant and therefore reducing the carbon footprint." Mayor The Mayor Who Ruled That City also said, "This partnership helps us leave the gas powered past." Previously, The Origin has recently constructed a 15,000...

Hello, The Going to Other districts of Timbuktu City are now officially developed. Why? Because they achieved >120 EQ and >90 years of life expectancy. They're also going to reach $40 GDP per capita. Sure, Timbuktu City for now can be also considered developed. But, Timbuktu City is expanding and this may cause data distortion. So, we aren't ready to say that the city is developed, at least yet. Here are some achievement by the districts. The first skyscrapers in Timbuktu City Another skyscrapers in...

Hello, Timbuktu City savings is now surpassing 1 million. According to The Mayor Who Ruled That City, "This is our hard work within 50 years." With that amount of money, Timbuktu City is considering to form a investment authority called Timbuktu City Investment Authority or TCIA. The TCIA plan though is currently not finalized. What do you think? As always, thanks.

Hello, Middle class are growing in Timbuktu City. So much so that 2 high-end offices has been constructed in the region. These offices need 10% of its capacity to be filled by high-wealth people. But, the city doesn't have any housing for them. To accommodate the need for housing, The Mayor Who Ruled That City officially announced the Elite District, a $25,000 16x25 island full of high-end housing which takes 1 and half years to complete. Not only the sanctuary for the rich, but also for the mayor....

Timbuktu City is Born

Hello, After the changes of the border, The Mayor Who Ruled That City is officially the mayor of the city. He then changed the landscape to like this: Districts There are 4 new districts. North Going to Other This is a district by the water and the entrance to other city. Well, not really, at least directly. Because, the actual border of Timbuktu City isn't rectangular, but follows the terrain features. In this case, Rockmount range. The range is so long that it's truncated by the map. Sorry for what SC4...

The Fresh Start

Intro Hello, I'm Zaydan. I'm 17, which obviously still in (senior) high school. From age 13 (2017), I started to learn SimCity 4. I think SimCity 4 is the greatest city sim ever made in terms of simulation and second only to Cities: Skylines overall, but still a great game nevertheless. Today, I'm consider myself to be a moderate player. To be clear, moderate here means I'm not as reliant on basic help as I did 3-4 years ago. Still, I need some help for more advanced stuff, especially flora and deep breath...

The Border Redraw

Hello, The governors of 6 cities were meeting up each other to discuss the border redraw. The previous border was viewed as "too small" compared to real life. I choose Jakarta as comparison. The total size of Jakarta's border is around 650 km squared. Jakarta is split into 5 subdivisons and 1 regency. The East Jakarta, for instance, border size is around 270 km squared. Meanwhile, Timbuktu region size is 270 km squared and habituated The Origin size is 40 km squared. I don't think small cities will add up...
