The Last Thing I'll Do

Hello,

I'm sorry. I'm so bored with this CJ. But, I don't give up, yet. I still have another plan for the CJ: develop the west plain. That will be last area I'll develop. I'll focus myself to make contents that actually matters, and not "wasting time". Don't get wrong, this is still a useful CJ. But since I don't have any feedback, I decided to end this CJ right after my plan completed.

What do you think? Thanks.

I think timbuktu map is a nice scenario for a mid-size american style city. Natural growth and realistic scale should be a reference point in my opinion.

In this case I would try to develop a coherent topographical plan, imaging the amount of people living in this area and their needs in terms of travel time, education..and give a shape of the neuralgic points, services and opportunities for growth potential. You don't need a huge map if you have in mind the level of detail you want to obtain and even in a little map you could have a lot of work to do..set a goal and follow this, but most of all..have fun man, life is short*:D! Thanks for suggestions! I started it wrong. There are lots of mismanagement going on like overpowered high-dense development that kills the traffic (though it can be fixed by densifying the city but I have to upgrade my networks), mislocated industrial location (there's one complex that previously before the hirise development, quite strategic), there are some tiles that have to be bailed out due to unprofitability, late bordering etc. Not only that, I get less feedback than it should be. So, I decided to leave the city.

To be fair, I don't mean exited the CJ industry altogether. But, I'll make a better CJ in the future. Like cities with some walkability, trees, etc.

How about Fairview? It's a small Maxis region. Should I download a larger map from STEX?

Fairview is still one of my favorite maps, a good scenario for a port city, however was the smallest vanilla regional map (from what I remember).

Everything depends on your future plans: if you want an average amount of work I suggest to start with Fairview, a small map where you can focus on details and quality

otherwise, if you plan a long CJ (with proper regional developement) I suggest a larger map from STEX.

When I chose warsaw huge map I was aware of the loooong play sessions only to obtain a small outcome,

but it was in my plan so I carried on,  it just relaxes me and I've learned to take my time..

I hope you'll find an option that satisfies you!^_^ Tom

Hi @chfzdn,

I personally feel that you are expecting too much feedback from others in your CJ development. There are many questions you are directly asking the community in each entry, and then you aren't - in my opinion - giving them ample time to respond before future entries with more expectation of feedback and response. I am not saying this to offend you, I am simply offering you feedback since you want it.

As mentioned previously, I personally feel that you should start and develop a CJ 100% for yourself. Of course, you can invoke some community interactivity, but you shouldn't expect it and you shouldn't require it for the CJ to continue. The CJ should bring you fun and joy to create, and therefore the CJ can develop regardless if you have 100 views or 5000 views, or if you have only a few comments or 100 comments.

As @tomz16 said previously, finding the direction that satisfies you is important, and then just sticking with it. Do it because it brings you joy!

Again, not trying to offend you just genuinely trying to have you consider altering the approach a bit so you aren't relying/expecting for so much feedback with each entry.

Thanks, Daeris! I do still play the city myself and my city can appear in one of my content in the future. Stay tuned!
