Filler #5/ WTF moment #3: Building a district

Moerp

So I planned to develop a small part of a town like this (I'm sorry for the interface):

And I received this:

Mattb325s apartment building is DOMINATING. I really need to clean my plugins folder. Also this mixture of european and american styled houses is terrible. Maybe I should even enable the Maxis RHI again.

Gannet: Well, I like it too, that's why I'm using it:D

stockslips: Thank you, I'm kinda into this style with apartment complexes and canals in the last time

Schriefer. Thanks!

Huston. Thank you and yes, it's really odd. But I didn't really noticed it he last time, that's because I made this update - I have to clean my plugins folder:D

Ln X: Much thanks!

agunter999: i wasn't sure about them first, but now I think they're ok too:)

You'll find that certain custom content's stats are a bit skewed compared to the Maxis content and that's what you end up with. If you're familiar with the iLive Reader program, you can always lower the "capacity satisfied" to reduce it being pulled from the pool so often. Or you can just keep bulldozing till you get what you want, then just make the building historical.

As far as the style mixture, make sure you're not running the game with "Build All Styles At Once" option selected. You might want just one or two styles selected at a time. This allows you to create sections of your city with a bit more biased styles. Sort of how race, religion, and ethnicities like to live near each other.

After I grow I usually then go in and manually change the things that I want. To change the residential I use the 'buildingplop' option with the Extra Cheats plugin. Best to only change one residence at a time, press the play button to make sure they don't get abandoned, then once it is stable plop the next one.

The mixture actually isn't too bad, it looks pretty nice from here. There are a few that could be replaced, but it's not at all the worst :P
