First of all thanks to LP for the nice comments on my earlier post, as you said, recognition is hard to come by. By the way, i really like the way you blended your highway into you city, i might try something like that in my current city...
Anyway heres a picture of a view down a densely forested hillside into a quit suburb...

Woah, thats nice! Whats with the forest, did you place those redwoods in there, or is it some way cool mod? Also, you brought your road down to highway level for the ramps, was that intentional, or have you just not taken advantage of the ramps in the NAM that let you do the sloped ramps?

There are some really cool pictures out there on this thread! Good job y'all 4.gif

This is a picture of my (from the stex downloaded) region. I tell you, the region is quite large. It measures 12x12 large squares!
So far, I haven't done that much in the region, so I haven't really accomplished something yet 3.gif
As you can see, there is one unrendered city tile right in the middle of the region that kept unrendered somehow.

Well, i never really got around to using NAM, i dont know why actually, but in any case, not having NAM kinda forced me to come up with alternative ways of using sunken highways, an my previous post is an example of such a way. Also, it lets you plant trees around the offramp, which i dont know if you can do with NAM offramps. I attached another example of how i use the highways i my current city, which probably isnt very revolutionary, as there was a time pre NAM...

Mmmmh, very nice idea. I see you too like a clean, flowing, ordered, and nice looking green city. I'd like to see what you have come up with for subburbs, thats where I tend to trip.

How did you make avenue interchange on the bottom of your last screen? And how did you make half clover interchange?

Sorry for offtopic.

Relax on the flaming LP!
His pic actually looks really nice and the point isn't to make incredible new and out of the ordinary stuff in every pic. His entrance just looks good and the view has a really good feel.

you need something called the NAM(network addon mod). search the forums for 'where to get the NAM'. you can find it on a official NAM site which i dont know how to get to off the top of my head

Yup said it a while back that both are included in the NAM. Just go into the highway menu, scroll down to the NAM interchanges, and keep on hitting tab and you will find both. I've been toying around with a few new lots in SC4, I'll post a pic maybe today or tommorow. EDIT: I've been toying around with this city, seeing what the new bike paths could do for something like this. Heres what I came out with: Tegel-Aug2.jpg There you can see the trail going through a few backyards, crossing the rail line, over a street, and into a park. Tegel-Aug.jpg This is an early morning shot. It shows the entire layout so far. It starts in the downtown, winds up through the new subburban development, over the area I showed you, and ends out in the farm area. I'm trying to duplicate the feel of the rails-to-trails we have up here in new england, where the bike paths follow old rail lines that were no longer in use.

Wow... this thread has grown a whole page since my last visit here... I guess i beeter get the replys done first, and apoligise for my absence here, and leaving a few people without comments...Here goes...

- storms991 and irishgrapes ... Thanks for the great comments... the stadium with the opening roof is from the Japanese Bat thread... an awesome stadium that changes with the seasons like PEGs trees. Adds some great visual aspects to a city when playing.

- LP ... Great pictures there, I love the one of the hydro dam on the last page ... very artistic of you. The last few pics you posted are looking great too.

- SoulStealer ... As in the first reply here, you can find it in the Japanese Bat thread.

- CfnNexus ... That is one of SimGoobers subways, they are on the Stex, search under his name, the pack contains 3 different variations of the subway.

- JayStimson - Those retaining walls are looking great. I love the rounded courner version. Can't wait to see them hit the Stex.

- hyped_up_boy ... Awesome looking Region there. I like the natural flow of the development...very realistic.

- Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoy ... Great pic...

Ok... now on with some pictures of my own... As some of you might know, my cj St Marque Inlet had some trouble and I was forced to end it... So here are a few of those final update pics...

Anniversary%20FFR%20014.jpg

Anniversary%20BV%20011.jpg

And now... I was tempted to stop playing, but my creativeness got the better of me, and I started playing again... So Alicante City was born. It is a City in a Provice St Marque Inlet, so SMI take 2 will be up and running soon I hope... To keep you guys interested here are a few preview pics of the City...

Alicante%20City%20Promo%2001.jpg

I hope I captured you imaginations... Please feel free to comment...and Please.. post some more pictures guys and girls....

Enjoy!

Wow... quite... amazing. I've managed to get a few sizable cities so far, but I have this HORRID nack of starting a city on a medium sized area, thus running out of space. I'm glad you liked the dam, it took me a while to get that look. Anyway, right now i'm waiting for a few new thing sto be released so I can renovate one of my cities.

Here are two more pictures from my most recent city. One of them shows some more suburban development down a hill side with some communication array atop the hill, and the other picture shows the railroad exiting a industrial area.

You are absolutely right, that is some antennas of JeroniJ´s creation, and i thought they looked quite nice together with the dish-antenna...

I must also applaud you one some very impressive accomplishments in your region, that certainly leaves my measly pictures in their wake... 15.gif44.gif

Now, that looks good. Hmm, these lots look familiar.... 3.gif Ah, that's right. 3.gif

I like how the bike paths just meander through town, and the way it's integrated with town looks simply well, great.

Oh, and this is an image from an update I'm posting tomorrow: in my CJ, the Savannah Way.

Woah... thats, wild. Whats that big green crecent area? If that comment on the bike paths was about my town, thanks. The thing is, thats just the old default Tegel in the Berlin region. I actually moved it to another region becase i disliked it so much, although I can't say East Vainville is much better. I just went to figure out how to use the lots and what i can do with them, and i made the town into something I actually enjoy playing. But, ya know... it'd be real nice if the creator would put a bit of variation into those straight peices, those benches are getting a bit redundant. *wink wink* I'm actually replacing PEGs' pine trails that i had along the coast of a river in Toroshima with the bike paths, they look MUCH better and more realistic.

The population, according to Region Census, is 1,068,193, with 817,515 C and I jobs provided to the people.

That big green crescent area is Savannah City's Central Park, with adjoining cemetery.

Well, there are no prop families that contain benches in the Lot Editor... I think I'll have to look into it. I may be able to move a few prop families around, except I don't know how to reassign prop families.

Or, I could just remove them entirely, and create a lot with no benches. It'll most probably be packed with the 90 degree corner, tunnel and bridge pieces. If you want a tunnel, just use PEG's park trail tunnel for the moment.

Nah, as I said, a straight without a bench, its all i ask. Click, Delete, done. Er, I know its off topic... but did you notice when you zoom out to, level 3 i think, the grass base becomes white?

Anyways, thats a HUGE park! I love parks and beautification, I just never have quite that much room for it all.

Fox, what's the medium height building in your fourth photo with the great detail across from the park on the left (not Hearst Tower, Michigan, your Fox, or Churchill). Is it something you made or something you downloaded? If you did download it where did you get it and if you didn't and it's something you made you should release it!

I fixed it. Redownload the cycleway kit - I've got a texture fix in there.
