I downloaded the HSRP, and I must say, so far it's perfect! The HSRP fits nice into the game. The balance is even better now, in my opinion. Instead of everyone using the highway, half the people in my cities use the highway to get to work, and the other half uses the HSRP. Just one note, but it may be announced before... please increase the max slope rate! It cost me like three hours and 750.000 simdollars to lay down 100 metres of HSRP track over a small slope Anyway, thanks for the efforts 3ddz and others! This is the first best addition to simcity after the NaM IMO

A: because our computers run at windows, and windows sucks. A2: because they felt like doing so. Q: Why am I not funny? -

Tim, linux is compatitable with ANY, really ANY kind of hardware ;-) So that won't be a problem. I strongly recomend Ubuntu Linux. It is one of the most user-friendly, easy-to-use distros around. Also, Ubuntu has the largest community in the entire linux world (www.ubuntuforums.org). This community is waaay larger than Simtropolis Also, you can order as many CDs of it as you want, I recently orderd 50, for free. These CDs come with a live-version, so you can try it out, and an installation disc, so you can install ubuntu. Also, the content of the distro doesn't depend on the distro you're using, but the window manager that comes with it. A window manager is, like the name applies, a program that makes windows for you, so you wont have to use code and command lines to get things done. The most known window managers are Gnome and KDE - Ubuntu comes with gnome. Up to that, with Ubuntu, you can download and install any program you wish by entering a simple code in a command line, or by starting up the installation manager. It's like two clicks to download and install, for example, a video-editing program. About the DVD-playability: Linux doesn't have this ability by default, because licenses prohibit it to do so. However, with two clicks you can simply install DVD-playability at Ubuntu, which is fairly easy and totally legal ofcourse. So I seriously recommend Ubuntu for you! Oh, by the way... even simcity 4 runs flawlessly at ubuntu

I agree with tag_one, such a macro grid placer would kinda ruin the feeling of simcity. Cities would look more like human farms than like cities. Maybe its better if you try to be more creative Drag some roads at random places, connect them, add more stuff at random places... simply be more freestyle! That way you would enjoy the game even more!

What Operating Systems Have You Used
DaMaster_architect replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in General Off-Topic
why are there so many windows OSs listed in that survey, but only one Linux OS? there are soooo many linux distributions. Please, don't ignore linux! It's far better than windows, and I tell you that from my own experience. The only thing they need to improve is the difficulty of using linux... at ubuntu, things go pretty easy, but at other linux distributions, sometimes it's really a hard time to get things done. Hence, the most important ones are: - ubuntu (5.10) linux - SuSE 10 - Mandrake - Redhat - Fedora and so on. -
hi vanquish, welcome to simtropolis! If you want to get rid of landfills, you should build some things like those garbage-to-power plants, that can handle the entire garbage capacity. In time, you will see your landfills getting empty. and at a certain moment, you can dezone the empty landfills. However, it takes some time for landfills to get empty. oh, and trying to demolish them with a meteor doesn't work. Believe me, I've tried

Do you have the NAM? it offers a lot of puzzle pieces, with which you can make ramps without messing up the terrain. Hope this helps
