Thanks so much all! There'll be no census update until tomorrow because I'm writing this from a laptop in a little dinky town in Northern Ontario, far away from my computer. I'll have the request update and census at the same time, but the census takes a really long time to prepare because I have to manually count up all the residents and jobs in each town. The request update won't take that long though. Thanks for your support, and there haven't been as many comments as normal lately, so if you're reading and not commenting, please do!

You know RHF, I wonder if that might not be an idea for the modders out there.  Create a query that will give you that census info for the entire region?  I don't know much about programming, but it would imagine it could be done.10.gif

First of all, I'm just letting you know I'm still here. Though I haven't posted, I have been reading. And as always, I love the storytelling. Great job!

Secondly, the Region Census program might be able to assist you in your census. It's a great program, and can be found here . Good luck!

Alright, it's mini-update time! Specifically, the census for this week and the requests I've gotten over the past week. But first, some exciting news!

    --------------------------------------------------------------

Alright, although there's been less comments as of late, this CJ is nearing the 200 post mark and the 5000 view mark! We're at 188 posts and almost 4300 views, so it won't be long until we reach both these goals! Let's try to reach it by...Saturday. I'll update as much as I can and I hope you guys will comment as much as you can so we can reach 200/5000 ASAP! I want to take this time to thank everybody who has ever commented on this CJ, I seriously couldn't have done it without you! And for those of you who have stuck with me since the very beginning, I thank you especially. Without you, this CJ would've been dead a while ago for sure. So, let's get to the census!

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    Northeast Thistlewood-All Settlements

    Population: 2030

    Commericial Jobs: 285

    Agricultural Jobs: 359

    Industrial Jobs: 240

    Northeast Thistlewood-Overdale

    Population: 508

    Commercial Jobs: 71

    Agricultural Jobs: 0

    Industrial Jobs: 240

Places of Interest: Overdale Elementary School, Northeast Thistlewood Landfill, Dabb Naval Parts Facility, Dabb Mansion, end of Route 35(east), Overdale Building Supplies.

    Northeast Thistlewood-Westlake

    Population: 609

    Commercial Jobs: 86

    Agricultural Jobs: 144

    Industrial Jobs: 0

Places of Interest: Westlake United Church, Headquarters of BJ Agriculture, Westlake Elementary, end of Route 35(west).

    Northeast Thistlewood-Huntington

    Population: 914

    Commercial Jobs: 128

    Agricultural Jobs: 215

    Industrial Jobs: 0

Places of Interest: Governor's Mansion(Artemis's House), Headquarters of Nedal Inc. and Cao Inc., NE Thistlewood Water Tower, Huntington General Store, Sherry's Bar, Cao Farming Machinery.

And that's this week's census! Now, stay tuned for the request update, where we see the first three requests since last Wednesday fulfilled!

    -----------------------------------------------------------

Alright, here's the request update! First, dhoppeii wanted to know what the landfill situation was. Although I mistakenly answered this in a previous update, I'll provide a review with pictures of the NE Thistlewood Landfill.

The NE Thistlewood Landfill was built in 2011 by the area's governor, Artemis Winchester. After complaints of excess garbage from both residents and businesses, Governor Winchester built this waste disposal site in Overdale, right behind the Dabb Naval Parts facility. The landfill is currently running at 12% capacity, but when it reaches 85% capacity, an expansion has been planned. Most garbage received by the landfill is transported by train, although some garbage trucks have recently been introduced. Note: I'm having some problems with SC4 loading, I'll take the pictures after and edit them in.

    -----------------------------------------------------------

Next, I think it was kingofsimcity who wanted to see a region shot. I downloaded timotheus4's Green water textures and the region looks much better as a result. Because of my loading problems, I'll post this shot later through editing.

Well, that was all the requests for this week! Hopefully we'll see some more next week and I'll get them done for you! Now, I'll address your most recent comments!

    -----------------------------------------------------------

Cjah: Thanks a lot! Glad to see you stopped by, always nice to see new faces in Thistlewood!

dhoppeii: You may be right, but we'll have to wait and see, won't we?

swessel44: Thanks! I don't have any trees because all the people who live in Thistlewood are too lazy to plant trees. But if you look closely at Cao Farming Machinery in the overview shot of Huntington, the area all around his store is heavily wooded, it's quite a nice area.

SC4 Meister: Without Shanks, you'd still be living in that pitiful 2-story. Besides, you were pretty bogged down with work, and you needed some help, so Shanks came along and picked you up off your feet! Your signature commentwow great update always makes me happy!

KOSC: Thanks! Can't believe I'm up there with giants like Ocean Point, Nexis and Klondike Delta... Goldenrod Plains is on my top 5 list as well!

dhoppeii: You were right, but it turns out that Mallow had found a program that the modders had actually created already. But thanks for the suggestion anyhow, always nice to see you!

Mallow: Thanks so much! My favourite compliments have to be when people say they like the storyline, that's the part I work on the most, glad you guys enjoy it! I'm especially thankful because you found me the regional census program, which has been a giant help! Hope to see you commenting more in the future!

    -----------------------------------------------------------

And, I guess that concludes today's update! Remember to comment, because that's what keeps me going. I don't just update for me, you know, I do it because you guys seem to like this CJ. So please comment if you like it, and even if you don't. Thanks.

Have a nice April Fools Day,

    RHF

I am loving the census! I wonder what that ladies man Nedal is going to do next. He seems to be growing his empire pretty well, although it was upsetting to see he wasnt the richest man in Thistlewood anymore! Nevertheless, Tom Cao handles that role with class. I heard Nedal is talking about importing Rivieran automobiles into Thistlewood....

Alright guys, I have an announcement. I'm scrapping this CJ due to lack of interest and some pet problems.

First of all, nobody likes this CJ. I barely get any comments and they're always halfhearted. So I thought fine, I won't do it anymore. Besides, you all can live without this piece of junk.

Plus, my cat climbed onto my keyboard and totally messed up my computer somehow. All my SC4 files are gone and there's nothing I can do. So yeah, Thistlewood's done.

I'll make a final update tonight. Please post your comments before the last update comes around. Although you might already know what's going to happen...

I don't know why you have to suspend this CJ, just start the region again and make it better. This CJ is very good, its gone to 7 pages in a very short amount of time. That's not very common, even in these times of heavy activity in the CJ section. I don't know where I barely get any comments comes from. I've looked and you consistently get 3-5 comments between each of your posts. If that's not enough, I don't know what is.

Please don't get rid of this CJ. You really have something going here, don't give up so soon.

BTW dhoppeii, I think you're being sarcastic in that last post but if you're not, jeez dude, what's with that comment? Everyone has a different idea on what's good and what's not, so don't call this CJ a piece of crap. Although I think and hope you're being sarcastic.

And RHF, you should delete that thing in your sig saying that the Napoleon Dynamite quote comes from my sig, anyone can use a quote in their sig and I have no credit in this situation. I've seen other sigs with Napoleon Dynamite quotes in them so don't worry about getting inspired by my sig.

So like I said, continue this CJ. There's no reason not to.

I'm really sorry guys, I've been really behind on schoolwork and other RLS symptoms. I'm actually going out of town tomorrow, so don't expect an update until about Saturday. I've decided to discontinue the requests, due to lackluster reponse, but I will keep doing the censuses, just not on a regular basis. I'm truly sorry for the delay.

What are you doing to make your census? Region Census, or the upgraded query info window? I like the fact that you are doing an actual census. Well... Patience is a virtue.

Guys, I'm really sorry to say this. I'm going to have to end Thistlewood.

I'm really just too busy. They're asking me to go out of town next week as well, I have tons of schoolwork that I'm trying to keep up with, and my girlfriend is fairly demanding2.gif

Also, I have other Simtrop stuff going on. I'm very involved with the Mapp Squad, trying to make sure that we do the best we can.

Finally, I never have time to play SC4 anymore. I only play about an hour every 2 weeks, I'm so busy. I hope you guys can understand.

So, what I'll do is create a final update for Thistlewood. I'm not going to tell you what happens, but it will end the story fittingly.

Once again, I'm so sorry. This CJ was all I could ever had hoped for: fans, plenty of views, people inspired by my work...I'm sorry it had to end like this.

Once everything cools down(try around June)I'll have a new CJ out. It'll mainly be inspired by one CJ in particular:Tropicana Islands, but will feature influences from SCR, Goldenrod Plains, Nexis of Genesis and Sun Valley.
