Great update once again Darmok. I use those solar panels all the time, I like them. There are a lot of road 'spots' in that second picture (you must use more road for terraforming than for actual roads!). The new residential area looks cool, no grid, which is good. Also, I really enjoy reading those quotes that you post. I have a notepad document that has heaps of quotes saved that I read and use every now and again. Some people have said some amazing and funny things, haven't they! Anyway, great work/play.

John, you've got some great 'burbs going there. I have got to learn how to include some of those in my zoning. I just have a hard time bringing myself to it, as I associate 'burbs to sprawl.

I was looking for a tutorial on making suburbs the other day, but I think I'll just check in at AVR for my inspiration!

Great food for thought, and great update!

Rheal

Hey mate, nice update as usual. I don't get tired of watching your updates, always very intuitive and self explanatory, but there is as well some interrogation marks, that ??pedestrian overpass?? - you know what this means, how... link, pls... 2.gif

Oh, and I really love your sense of humour put into these updates. When reading your updates, I'm always smiling and sometimes even give a LOL.

Cheers

Silvio

I like the sunken avenue - after everything filled in, it looked very natural. I'm a bit confused for the purpose of the road alongside the railroad tracks. It seems a bit redundant. Excellent commercial areas and suburbs, as always.

Another good update. As usual. The pedestrian overpass looks a bit wierd, but it is better than leaving a whole on tha bankment.

Could you provide a region-view?

Good ol' Liberty Islands! Someday, I'll repost my old CJ.

It seems that the fence lot by suico fixed the problem for me. Just a matter of having the "right" building for the lot in your plugin file. Would that pedestrian bridge happen to be the NAM in action? Or is this a new lot out there? Is there any rhyme or reason to the way you lay out your streets, or is it just as you desire? It seems to produce a very realistic result. You have to love those private school black markets. Always innovative, and always humorous. It's great.

Everything is sooo realistic and aesthetically pleasing!!! The suburbs are well-planned out, and the use of buddybud's lots really adds a nice touch to the overpasses. 19.gif

Hi John

after 2 +1/5 days posting here to by the last posted untill the most recent I finelly reached Anduin Valley, which proves how great and popular it is. well about the updates.

Bruinen Fjord 12

What a great rail on the cliffs close to the river and Thrifty Estates is great with all those amusement feautures

Bruinen Fjord 13

Create terraforming and nice placement of the walls and what an awesom small belvedere.

Bruinen Fjord 14

Very nice slopes, and did you use any mod to make that rail slope so smoothly?

Rural trails

Awesome work on this project I'll sure use it as soon as possible on Rasec.

Bruinen Fjord 15

Very good idea with the of the educational center, very nice work with the waterfront and the communication tower.

Bruinen Fjord 16

I love the trails and the the overpasses on the avenue and low density residential area.

------------------

Aw ... what a great update again. Not that I am very surprised about the way it has turned out. So far all updates of Anduin have sparked inspiration and overall "good feeling" vibes. I am glad I could help out a bit with solving the trail mystery ... they work like a charm now and are a must have for any rural area. Thanks for bringing them to the public and you will meet them in my own cj.

See you soon.

Hey John, great couple of updates there my friend. I really liked the neighborhood planning you did in this past update, which turned out looking great. Now if you could only take some comedy lessons from SA, this CJ would be top notch.....2.gif

Breathtaking! Just one question, where did you get that bridge that crosses the sunken avenue? (The one at the bottom of the 2nd pic)

I leave one little comment and the guy comes back to me with a paragraph's worth of a response!  I'm honored... 43.gif  Not only is this CJ beautiful, but an incredibly friendly environment; no wonder you have so many fans.  1.gif  Your latest pics are sooo beautiful, and I forgot to say that the longetivity of the CJ is impressive!  19.gif  You haven't been bogged down by stuff like getting bored of the region or shifting your interest to other things, not having enough time, or even things out of your control, like computer crashes, etc.  I AM impressed. 10.gif

    NAM – Network Add-On Mod

    BuddyBud's lots

    zzavintrojune2006down7vf.jpg

    Sloppet – Anwakee – County

Thanks my friend, we're aiming to please! 18.gif

    Enjoy your week!

BTW Thanks for the Road name!

Owenluby - Barton Region Honestly Owen, I like those characters, they have....well.... character! (of course) 18.gif They remind me how much I was doodling in my notebooks at school! To the dismay of my teachers who were wondering what will become of me in life!

    See you!

    Van1357

    Hi Van,

Yeah the solar panels, I like the idea of solar energy, but truth be told even if they are good looking, they're not fitting well with all decor.

Since I found mrbisonm Village battery lots, I prefer using them in rural or other setups that requires more anonymity.

Thanks for your comments, and about the quotes, I totally agree, even the very old ones are still true today, proving that human nature hasn't changed since antiquity!

    Take care

    Jacky (jacqulina) - Paradise Falls

Hi Jacky, thanks for the encouraging words!

As for the weekend it was great, lots of chores, but done outside with a great weather, in fact I'm typing your response in my backyard swing enjoying a gentle summer breeze.

    Enjoy the week!

    -John

    S_A_ (Shadow_Assassin) - The Savannah Way

    Hi SA,

Mafia! what Mafia! Now don't go spreading rumors... and upset Signor Pantone...!

    Take care!

    Rhéal – rw0381c

    Salut Rhéal,

Well as far as "real" looking suburbs are concerned I would rather look at Aleking eye Candy CJ... those looks more like the real McCoy! Mine are more "wishful thinking" tough when I look at where I live it has certain similarities.

I really like those small quotes, even when funny, there's always some truth in them!

    Take care!

    Rayden - New HavenHola amigo!

The pedestrian overpass I think is part of the NAM... not 100% sure but I think it is.

As for the sense of humor, I don't know, sometimes I just can see some small story unfold before my eyes (or rather, in my mind), when I was preparing the update and saw the pedestrian bridge in close up, I just "saw" a worker speaking to his boss, and the rest is history 18.gif

    See you!

Luker01 - San Lucas: My first CJ

hey Luke, well it's not that big, and not very complicated IE: no cycleways or "special" features. So those setups are done very quickly. It'll be done and over with with update 17 if I remember correctly. (perhaps 18...)

    take care

Mayormommy - Nightmare Islands: Life on all levels

    Hi mayormommy,

I agree with you about the road, it is indeed redundant. lts only purpose in fact is to provide a faster transit for those not going to the commercial sector. Let's call it 'Artistic license'. Wink

    Take care

Bokrif - Liberty Island coming soon

    Hi Bokrif

Thanks, for the ped. overpass. it's part of the NAM and as it has no embankments, I use the generic one.

As for the region overview, it'll come a the end of Bruinen Fjord.

    Take care!

    Tracker - Graph X Services

Hi Tracker, thanks, and yes I saw the street in Sloppett CJ's it's quite an honor for me!

    See you!

    Yaptszwai

H Yaptszwai, thanks for those really kind words, and yes trial and error IS the best thing around, and sometimes some of our "mistakes" turn out as good ideas!

    See you!

    Threestooges – Matt

    Hi Matt,

Yes the Suico Fences problem.... it was so obvious in my mind that I forgot to mention them in the dependencies list!!!

Yep your right about the ped overpass, NAM piece. And no, there is no "real" planning for my streets, I just try to lay them in a way that I think would be nice for the resident.

Sorry for the shor reply this time my friend but it's late sunday night as I write this...

OH BTW! Does this new setup for the pedestrians suits you!

    zz3stoogecorrected14mn.jpg

    zz3stoogecorrected20cr.jpg

    Alway good to see you!

    Take care

Special Eddie - Oasis--The Wild West

Hi Eddie, thanks man, and yes BuddyBuds pieces are a great addition!

    See you!

Yoman3 - United Republic of Ankara

    Hi Yoman,

hehehe.... I'm just trying to lighten uo the atmosphere!

Can't wait to see that hill!

    Take care!

    Fabiocb - RASEC

    Hola Fabio

Hey don't be sorry amigo, RL goes first that's for sure! It'll be my turn to be absent for a couple of weeks quite soon! So I really understand!

As for your question for the slope yes I use a modified BRF slope mod.

Thanks for your thorough analysis, and see you later

    Take care

    NicolaiS - Riseley

For the rural trail, your help was REALLY appreciated! I will not forget the time and effort you've put into this.

    Take care!

Dan - La Plaisance County (Best little County South of Canada!)

    Dan my man!

I knew I could count on you to boost my spirits!

What's this about comedy lessons??? 42.gif  Am I known for doing bad jokes??? 42.gif  Yeah....Well... don't answer that!

Anyhow always great to see you around my friend, hoping our project can work.

    Warm salutations to your family

    GaBoR - Oro Bruno

    Hola GaBor,

    gracias amigo!

Justanothersim86 - Justanothersims Civic BAT Projects

    Hi JAS

The bridge, is part of BuddyBud pieces see links section

And thanks for the good words!

    CDI_spy

Well what can I say, that was a good comment, I just HAD to answer, I'm kind'a like Donkey in Shrek, that to shut me up that's the trick! hehehe...

Well sometimes I am bogged down you know, it's just that I have about 4 to 5 weeks worth of pics in reserve, that helps. And I'll tak a vacation and a CJ break in acouple of weeks... we all need that from time to time! Have to ressource ourselves. As for the computer crashes I had my shares but I have the good fortune of having a new PC (not even a year old) so on that side I'm OK (knocking on wood). You see again a long answer, why do you do this to me? 18.gif

    Take care!

    Bat

    Thanks Bat!

    Enzo

Hi Enzo, sorry to say that the stairs are from Marrast, and for now they are not available on the STEX, kind of a technical problem when it was upgraded... so for now you'll have to be patient.

Your kind words are really appreciated!

    Take care

Jason -(Aldara6166) - Modular Amusement park thread

Jason, whew... you're the last one tonight!... kinda late (11:30PM) and I HAVE to go to bed long day at the office tomorrow! Anyhow, as I said to SA don't go spreading rumors about Signor Pantone, he's a colorful guy, and he has a HUGE family!

Thanks for dropping by my friend!

Summer vacations are comming, probably one or two more updates. and then I'll be off of for some (well earned) R&R. More on this later.

For now, here's the food for thought section!

    Here's a weird one!

"Accept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue."

    -Anonymous

    On these "wise!!!" words... cough....

All is left to do is to say thanks to all of you for your generous and friendly support! And see you friday!

    In the meantime

Take care and enjoy life 10.gif

    yet another woderful update here.

the last pic with the rain and the flash really blew me off. so darn good made.

and the new zoning is awesome.

only thing that does not look that good is the always switching texture on the streets, but this is what I call minor than minor... or so...

you know what I mean ;-)

    waiting for more

I like those HK high-density residential blocks. But they somehow look a bit wierd in the middle of your city. I mean they are too tall, and there is no other high building...

Edit: and the storm looks cool.
