Especially the Communications Dish. What's it for? SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence)?quote>

Thought control? 2.gif

Anyways, Darmok, you've done quite well. I don't really like the lot for the NUMA building - that's the only thing that's wrong. It's not quite right, but anyways, the whole thing does flow together beautifully. I notice a few of your custom lots, too.

Wow great update. The satalite dish is great and the HITHERE.... LOL HUGE LOL!! 5.gif

I have to admit the second mosaic made me smile (twice).

First I see that the little patch of dirt between the road and street at the border is gone ( 16.gif&nbsp2.gif

second I see a very lonely Fed-Ex captain. He must be missing his Tanker buddy already ( 16.gif&nbsp2.gif

Keep up the good Show. We love it.

Nik-Nik

Time to take 2 out of 3 (kids) in their daily bath. (isn't there a wet smiley around??)

Another couple of cool updates!  I like those communications devices in the most recent update.  That sub pen looks great too!

Love the satelite dish!  But I love the area around it!

Love the hospital area, very realistically and very beautifully designed!  The subs looks fantastic!  Really nice design of that area, and I especially love the previous update with the waterfall!  Great stuff!

Love the mosaics!  Simply beautiful!

Keep it up mate, choco.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to say:  Congradulations on 90 pages! Woot!  Thats the greatest achievement ever!  Well done my friend, Anduin Valley will have its place in history as one of the best CJs (and now one of the longest!) CJs ever!

Rooker1 - Xania a tour of my world

Hi rooker, well after Tolfalas we'll be back in a more familiar setup, doing a dedicated setup like this can be a bit, I won't say frustrating, but rather restrictive at times due to the nature of the project.

    Always good to see you

    Take care

Szarkoz - The Free Democratic Nation of Caledonia

    Hi Szarkoz, thanks man.

    Threestooges

Never have eye gouging been so funny after them! LOL

Even in RL, communication arrays are common so I thought that for a scientific organisation like NUMA, three different systems should do the trick! I agree about the fact that a lock would be a nice addition when the terrain is sloped. But my workaround for it so far is to use two endpieces. It's not perfect but it gives a nice result.

I sure hope that my big picture server (Filelodge) will be up and running by the end of Tolfalas, it's been down since last saturday! I'll have to find a new one.

I would be glad to see your CJ when you're ready, don't forget to tell us when!

    See you!

Jacky (jacqulina) - CJ: "Just wanted to show you my terraforming"

Hi lassie! I had a good week hope yours was good too! Thanks for your good words and enjoy the weekend!

John - Mightygoose - Vil-valad, a city and its roots

Hey John, hehehe, fun to see the variety, sometimes I'm Zen sometimes wicked! I like that!

BTW The link is repaired, and thanks for your comment!

    Going2Chicago

Thanks! Yes there's one in Minas Tirith, (at the very beginning of the CJ a lot of pages ago!) That's one of the things I'd like to improve but... mehhh... not sure I want to redo the whole thing, you know how it is, it's like painting, your wife ask you to repaint the bathroom, and then it doesn't match with the hallway, so you redo the hallway, and so on and so on!  2.gif

As for HITHERE technology it's quite TOP SECRET, which means you should be able to find it at Walmart in a couple of months!

    Take care!

    Phil (PhilsCafe) - Acorn Creek

    Bonjour Phil,

Thanks for your kind words my friend, as for reading I can understand that there's been times when I just couldn't find the time to open a book! But recently, I'm quite the bookworm! I'm sure you'd love "Da Vinci Code" since then I've read all four books by Dan Brown, - Deception Point - Digital Fortress, and Angels and Demons, liked them all. Interesting stuff, sometimes a bit farfetched but very entertaining. If you're into social critic, I guess Da Vinci Code would be the most interesting of the lot for you. Though not as subtle as To kill A Mockingbird or Orwell's "1984" for that matter, but still it brings to the light several interrogations.

    Enjoy your weekend!

    Fabiocb - RASEC

Hi Fabio, I don't know if it'll be such a tourist attraction, but if I was a scientist, that would be a place where I'd like to work!

    See you in Rasec!

    Rhéal – rw0381c

Salut Rhéal, well, let's wait and see for the other games!  2.gif

BTW the name's is really John and not Jean, as for your comment, what can I say, I just hope I won't ran out of ideas before the end!

    Have a great weekend!

EDITED friday morning - Well we're now tied! the Remparts won the last two... hehehe...

    SpecialEddie

There's already a SETI installation in AVR, which was in Anfalas. No this one is solely for communications purposes, at least it's what "they" say in the brochure!  2.gif

    Take care

Yoman3 - United Republic of Ankara

Hey Yoman, Welcome to Anduin Valley!

Glad you liked the submarine pen.

    See you!

    MS (magpieshooter) - Kinata Region

    hi MS,

Yeah, it was one if not the main challenge behind this CJ, as I never filled a map before! Though I don't think I'll "fill" this one too! The mountain parts will remain pretty much in their natural state. And perhaps, later, I'll do some corrections on some cities. Who knows?

    Take care

    Sloppet

Thanks Sloppet, and the good ol' AV will be back on track after Tolfalas.

    Take care!

    S_A_ (Shadow_Assassin) - The Savannah Way

If it'd be for thought control, you would find the NUMA building attractive  18.gif!

As I explained before, it was the only one I found that could IMO be suitable to pose as a NUMA center, though I'm open to suggestion, there's so much great bats, that I'm sure I didn't see all of them.

As for the custom lots, I do play a bit with the LE these days, and the dish is one of them.

    Take care!

    Tracker - Graph X Services

Hey Tracker, well, as there was not a lot of picture left to do this update, I thought it would be appropriate to wrap it up with mosaics.

    Thanks

    ThomasAH - Zorturia

Hey Thomas, yes the NUMA base is completed, all that is left will be the small residential sector in next (and LAST Tolfalas update).

As for Zorturia you're doing a very good job with it!

Page 90!!! It goes so fast that I have difficulty to find the time to answer all the comments between two updates.  2.gif

    Tot Ziens!

    Nik-nik

Well, you know me by now... just couldn't resist making a fool of myself... again...  18.gif

To the risk of disappointing you, I have to be honest, the fact that the tanker's not there is pure luck, I did not repair the seaport...YET! I'll probably do it later on!

As for the bath, if you need some room to manoeuvre (kids can be messy!) the sub pen is kinda quiet those days so... just check with the control tower first!  2.gif

    Take care my friend

P.S. I know you'll probably scrutinize the big Tolfalas pic, so I'm telling you that you'll notice some changes around the Hotel in Entry Point, (I must have closed that city without saving the last time) so I had to redo the thing, and forgot to put back the auditorium.... mehhh!

Battlecat - Terra - An evolving region

    Hi Battlecat, thanks!

    Anubis - anubis' cities

Welcome to  Anduin Valley Anubis! Thanks for the appreciation.

And I've just visited your CJ, GREAT WORK! People if you like detailed CJ's you must go pay a visit to Anubis CJ, really worth your time!

    See you!

    Choco (Chocolatemax285) - Green Depra

    Hi Max!

How's it going mate? Glad to see you're still enjoying AVR, the subs are a gift from Chris (DragonAnime) kind of a challenge  2.gif.

As for the satellite dish I just did it with the LE. I just take MarlinII Radio Astronomy Dish by ishani and modified the lot itself a bit. That satellite dish is a GREAT looking model! Kudos to ishani for it.

As for the waterfall I thought that the sub base needed a feeding stream.

Always good to see you Max!

    Take care

    P1 (TWICE)

Hi, P1, Welcome to Anduin Valley!

Yes page 90! I can hardly believe it myself!   46.gif

    Thanks for the bunnies.

    See you!

    Bat

    hi Bat, thanks!

    Pikatchoum - Bluebeach City

Hey Pika, thanks for the visit!

Bluebeach is a nice new CJ BTW!

    Take care

And now dear readers, here's the last update for Tolfalas Island

including an updated region pic in both regular 800 pixels resolution, and one HUGE 10MB taken at zoom 2

and a complete picture regrouping all 4 sectors of Tolfalas Island, again one that is 800 pixels wide, and one taken at zoom 5! on this one you won't miss a thing! So without further ado here's....

Next week we will begin the construction of Bruinen Fjord. Those of you who don't like tech shots, won't appreciate the first updates, this time I've tried to build an almost complete transit network before doing any zoning or building.

Hoping that some of you will like them anyway.

Thanks for your GREAT support, and see you next week!

    In the meantime

Take care and enjoy life 10.gif

Absolutlly excellent. The region view mosaics are supurb, saved them to my computer for future reference, cause I just love this CJ.

The completed island of Tolfalas looks fantastic, its great how everything meets up in the end.

Looking forward to the next area.

    The overwiew is superb!

Hard to think it's four different map, they're very well linked. 4.gif

I love the global lay out, with the two harbours.

You really respected the landscape, amazing how it's done.

And wow,the region is giant and so nice!I love it! 3.gif

    Keep it up.

Nice to see this in it's finished form.  The boundaries between the separate map tiles is invisible!  There are sure some nice homes in that last section of the island.

Again a very nice job Darmok, a small, so green and rich residential area... well, probably chairmen of the factories on Tolfalas live there.

The regional view is again stored on my computer 1.gif For example, I really like to "drive" on one of highways through whole AVR. Region view shows how much amazing work you've put into AVR. Great job.

Hi John. First of all, congratulations to page 90, great job on that.

J'aime le nouveau secteur résidentiel, il vraiment complète l'île. You really know how to create attractive real estate (The Mexican restaurant and the gaz station do their job). Great environment for successful research work, I must say. And wow, the region shots look particularly awesome. Tolfalas is very well layed out and the whole region looks very detailed. Great update my friend.

Thanks for the small review 4.gif. I think I'll start with 'The Da Vinci Code', right after I've finished my 'Statistics and Probability Theory' lecture script... 21.gif. I have read '1984' like two years ago. It was the one book I've decided to read in between all the other German, French and English literature I had to read pour la maturité (high school graduation).

    Bon weekend. Take care.

Just what I was waiting for. The various sectors looked great on their own but I couldn't really picture them as they would look together. The ULBT in the very center of the island is very imposing and must give the residents of the high rises to the east quite a view. The island came together nicely and the overview pics are great. I don't know how much work goes into one of those but I thank you for it.

    John,

My friend, another superb job...I love it...especially those closing pics of the region and entire island...by the way, how did you do that? I didn't realize that you could change the zoom level in region view...I'm interested to find out how...

    Great work...keep em coming...

Wow! What an update! That regional image was so massive and detailed that it took a long time to load!

But it was well worth the wait.

    Quite an impressive update.

I feel sorry for those people who take the dirt road just to get to the Mexican restuarant. HAHA!!!

That island blew my mind away.... very, very detailed!

Can't wait for another entertaining update.
