i've found another bug with the STEX, this time involving the categirization of files.

it appears that the category Maps of Fantasy appears under Props instead of Maps. i'm attaching a picture. i hope this gets taken care of.

Brad: I think it is too big (number of bytes).  Check the rules thread on avatars.

Dirk:  All my topic subscriptions have quit working.  I see the stuff in the lists, but I don't get any e-mail for them.

I noticed today that people can now reply to Omnibus articles... and some have... is this a new feature, or is it a bug, like I think it is?

When I use "search" and search by keyword, "shadow", I get this error message...

Error:#

The argument FTARG_DATE passed to function ConvertTime() is not of type date. If the component name is specified as a type of this argument, the reason for this error might be that a definition file for such component cannot be found or is not accessible.

The error occurred on line 115.

Words other than "shadow" seems to work. curious....

Ok... a rather weird bug I encounter is the chat thing... It shows you who is in chat, however, when you come in, there are different members then what the box showed.

Hi

Im experience a very annoying bug. I don't want to pick on anyone, but when I go to X's CJ or BAT thread, my browser which is AOL

stops responding or freezes. Sometimes I have to use the Windows Task Manager to quit the frozen browser.

In some threads this bug doesn't occur. So what could be the problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks..

From the outside looking in, it appears as if the chat is acting a bit quirky right now. 18.gif

Not sure if anything can be done about it, but I just thought I'd post it.

I can't download from the STEX because no popup appears

javascriptfails.jpg

that happens whenever I click a link to get at any content, but it works for everyone else.

I've seen it work maybe once or twice (out of hundreds of clicks) but I don't know why the hell it doesn't work every time

Popup blockers are off, latest FF and IE both fail 15.gif

One of two things may be doing you in:  Firewall not set to allow the site, or parental controls.

Windows firewall isn't the problem, whats the command line to look up your router IP, I know it exists but i don't remember. I'm not running any parental control programs. Also possibly related, google video now loads incorrectly for me as well, I get the header with the links but no video appears and the sidebar is wayyyy offset down in the bottom right corner.

I get A LOT of browser freeze when viewing forums. I look in task man and IE mem usage goes overboard to 150MB as oppose to the usual 40-80MB.

Also pages with a lot of pictures take forever to load and while it loads u can do nothing but wait as if the browser is frozen.

This page for example freezes my browser:

https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=23&threadid=55487&enterthread=y&STARTPAGE=25

I've checked this from different computers and all behave the same.

I think there is something wrong with the forum's template. someone should re-write the html code. one obvious mistake in the HTML is that the entire page is nested within 1 big TABLE tag. IE is very annoying with the way it handles table tags. It will not display the table unless it fully loads it (have reached the end tag) and if u have a lot of pictures in the table it will take IE quite some time to get to that closing tag. That might also part of the freeze problem.

so instead of doing small tables within one big table try breaking down each reply into its own table. if u want a unified look u can use the width attribute or u can use a transparent pixel to hold things together.

I hope I'm being clear here.

Please fix this problem its very frustrating when you need to restart the browser every few minutes when reading forums.
