hey people!. Well, I was born in Cordoba City, capital of Cordoba province in Argentina. The city is like 1.700.000 habitants but it hasn't got a great skyline because of height restrictions, but there are many new buildings in construction, very nice ones. It has also got some historical places that are part of the World Heritage given by the UNESCO (manzana de las luces and ciudad vieja) Some photos: check this thread (in another forum, very good photos, check them please!)

In my early life I also lived in a small city called "Venado Tuerto" (literally "single-eyed deer", yup, strange 3.gif) in Santa Fe province, near the big city of "Rosario". Photo:

I'm currently living in Argentina's heart: Buenos Aires, the capital city. 12.600.000 habitants (incluiding metro Buenos Aires). I live in what we call "Capital Federal" which is the centre of all the Buenos Aires area. Photos:

I also heard that the arena tower was going to be the biggest in the UK, something about its mast giving it further height, i guess its just gonna be the tallest in Birmingham... which is still pretty nifty. Anyone use the Emporis website? I love the proposed buildings for London, hope they all get built.

Portsmouth

Lets give good old Portsmouth a look, a large city in England, suburban population 463,000.

The two tallest in the city, the 170m Spinnaker in the foreground with the 100m Eastside Plaza over in the background.

Not exactly the tallest building in Portsmouth but the 15 story Zurich House is one of my favourite, again, sorry for the rain.

Another tall building, Europe House with HMS Victory in the foreground.

The Spinnaker again, everything is really far away and looks really small in this picture, quite misleading.

I live in a suburb of the Twin Cities in Minnesota called Waconia, population is at about 10,000 people. The tallest things here are the 2 water towers, a catholic church with its steeple, a lutheran church's steeple, 2004 city hall(with a senior housing project on top), early 20th century city hall(third most recent construction of a city hall building), the hospital, the crane that is being used to construct a third water tower, a                             senior housing tower right next to the new city hall(10 stories, and the tallest), and the senior housing buildings right next to the hospital.

Anyways, here are links to sections of sites that have a lot of pictures of each city:

Hello fellow Minnesotans.

Born in a suburb of St. Paul, and now I commute to work everyday to downtown St. Paul at Minnesota Public Radio! Beautiful city, and I love Minneapolis too -- it's home of the Foshay Tower - world's first skyscraper*

usmn6743.jpeg
Click me to see the Foshay Tower in Minneapolis

And to whomever mentioned Nashville - I'll be moving there next year! Great city! Lots of history.

EDIT: * west of the Mississippi (forgot to put in that little asterisk, my bad)

Foshay Tower wasn't the first. At the time it was built, the Woolworth building in NYC was world's tallest at 241m tall. The first was either the Flatiron building or the Singer building (depending on the definition of skyscraper heightwise). 49.gif

Actually, Cork Harbour is the second largest natural harbour in the world by navigational area.

Anyway, my hometown's (Omagh) skyline -

Snowfall along the River, Omagh

View looking along the River Strule. Omagh has gained the nickname "The Three Spires", anyone here want to hazard a guess why? 3.gif (Yes, that is snow.... This was taken last March, when temperatures plummeted to as low as -16C in some places).

Here's beautiful Baltimore, Maryland!  And a sattelite photo.  Actually, I'm not sure about this, but in response to above, I think Baltimore has the 1st largest natural harbor in the world.
