Markus J, thanks a lot... I'll take a look at your journal. I downloaded the industry and radius mod and started playing around. It's so great to get back into this, I forgot how much I enjoyed it! MsProll21, hope you're feeling better! Thanks again, the Simtropolis community amazes me yet again! ssoross

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your advice! Any more is welcomed, I'm planning on starting tonight. I'll play around with NAM and the others mentioned. By the way, what is the "Rural Highway Mod", I saw that somewhere? Anyone?

It's been a long, long time since I last played SimCity. I just re-installed the game and before I start, I was curious what the community had in mind for must-have downloads. Any insight would be great, thanks. I like the rural towns, so any suggestions there would be great. ssoross

That's great, guys! I started to zone some more industrial and my residential development began to perk back up. One question though; the only reason I didn't zone any more industrial in the first place is because it didn't show up on the RCI meter. Why is this despite the fact that it was clear I needed it?! -ssoross-

Hello y'all. Just started playing SimCity again and I got a question. I have a small city, about 1700 people, and residential development has completely stopped. I've read up on the forums about this problem, and have tried everything, yet nothing works. I've lowered taxes, desirability is good, jobs are in demand, traffic good, and I've even tried spurring new development by starting a city next right next to it. Homes grew in the city next door, just not in my my main city. Any ideas? Thanks, ssoross

Here's a link to see what the bridge looked like before the collapse: http://www.visi.com/~jweeks/bridges/pages/ms16.html -ssoross-

Here's some details y'all: I35/University Ave. bridge over the Mississippi right below lock and dam #1 The rescue operation may have switched from a rescue to recovery. Apparently, from eyewitnesses, close to 20 or 30 cars went into the river. Bridge was under maintenance; but the bridge was not under construction. Maybe as many as 20 bridge workers went down with the bridge. At this time, there is a t-storm coming with lightning but not severe. Bridge collapsed at 6:05 central standard time, US. There was a school bus full of elementary kids on the bridge, all the kids are safe as is the driver. I saw that same bridge a couple of weeks ago, I kid you not as I was going through Minneapolis visiting a friend. I live in Winona, MN and am from northern Minnesota, this is just awful. God Bless all of those who been injured or have died. Thanks for the Simtropolis support, you guys are great! Google "Kare11" for the local news. -ssoross-

A little side note-- It appears that this may show the original "God mode" and "Mayor mode" buttons (the "hand" button from Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel fresco and the little tophat guy button respectively). Believe it or not, I remember seeing these pics in early game shots. I could be mistaken, but they look familiar. -ssoross-

How can I get rid of "no road connection" zots?
ssoross replied to ssoross's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Thanks, that seems to fix it. Yea, I'm actually getting a problem with some parts of the forest looking "abandoned" because of the no road connect (basically, it's a farm but isn't being used). I think I'm gonna have to get rid of some it, or think of something else. We'll see, thanks for your help! -ssoross- -
How can I get rid of "no road connection" zots?
ssoross posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I'm using a few of the excellent farming lots from CSX and plopping them down as part of my forests (they make incredible look forests). However, when I have a few isolated of those farming lots, the dang "no road connection" zot comes up and won't leave. Any idea how to get rid of this, is there an option I can turn off or will the game eventually stop warning me? Any help would be appreciated, thanks! FYI - CAM released today, super excited! -ssoross- -
This is a great idea! I gotta' get in on this! I'll go for Biloxi, MS? -ssoross-

Dirk, thanks for the great interview! Finally, a game that looks playable! Note the realistic textures, the subtle differences on the road surface, real car models (Audi, MiniCooper, etc), and accurate tree models. These two screen shots are better than all of the Societies ones. EA better watch it, they're gonna' get their butt handed to them if this plays and works as good as it looks. Is it possible to have a game company that actually looks at its target audience and takes into account what they want!? Who'd a thought!? New sheriff in town? Let the rumors begin!! -ssoross-

Well, this is my last chance. If anyone can give me a hand by figuring out how to limit which type of farms grow, that would be great. I really need some help here. Let me know, thanks y'all. -ssoross-

Still looking for a little help on this if anyone is willing. Thanks. -ssoross-

Alright Deever, I did what you said, but the trick is I'd like to grow only the farms that I've gotten off the exchange, in particular, SG's corn. Perhaps a few more crops if I can swing it. I downloaded the block all Maxis building mods, but when I put in the IR block in, I still get the vanilla farms (I even started another city). Should I put it in the C: drive SimCity plugin folder, would that make a difference? Furthermore, I don't know what tileset SG or any of the other farms would be under, do you know how to figure this out? I'd love some more advice if the community is willing to give it to me. Thanks y'all. -ssoross-
