Downtown used to be really nice. today, about half of the downtown area has scince been flattened for parking. The city used to hold the record for more 10+ story buildings than any other city it's size in the world, thanks to the oil industry. I like the way downtown Tulsa looked in the 40s a lot more than the way downtown looks now.

Anyone else annoyed at pics that are so large, they force you to scroll to see the rest of the pic?

and then you still have to scroll to read other peoples posts later down the page?

Anyway, I've posted pics dealing with the nearest major metropolitain area's skyline for which I

live near (and the only good one of my cities actual skyline I could find) and now I'm going to

post pics of the skyline for the city where I was born

I live in Tampa and I was born here in Tampa 17 years ago.

IMO, this is one of the beautifulist downtowns, because, It's VERY clean, all of the sky scrapers are new, there are beautiful old  buildings that they still have as restaurants all along the oldest street in Tampa (Franklin St) Which is still a brick road.

Here's and old Pic of Franklin St.

and Now. franklinst.jpg

Here's a close up of the OLD tampa theater

Here's one of the oldest buildings in Tampa, The old Tampa Bay Hotel where, Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders stade on their way to Spain during the Spanish American War.

It's now the UNiversity of Tampa

I like simulated skylines.  All those buildings get in the way of the real skyline here:

toffee-Jun4-06.jpg

Now most views of the skyline don't include my dog... I'll give you that.  4.gif

Hey, this is my city Birmingham in the UK, it's not as impressive as some cities, although it seems to be slowly catching up 9.gif

The Arena Central tower hasnt been built yet, but if it was built, would be the tallest building in the UK.

(hope the pics work)

My hometown is really small, but it has a skyline. It's not really impressive and I think most ppl don't even know where Enschede is. My hometown Enschede is in The Netherlands, located in the east, in a Province called "Overijssel". Enschede has a pop of 158,000. The skyline is shown in the following link: http://www.enschede-stad.nl/~Fotos/Skylines/Zuiderval1.htm

jakus500: The arena central tower would not be the tallest in the UK, it wlould actually be the third tallest outside of London, behind Manchester and Portsmouth, then in London the tallest there surpasses Arena Central by 60 meters, soon 136 meters.

Micah: Believe it or not this thread has actually been pretty good about the size restrictions. Certainly a lot better than most of these types of threads. Unfortunately two users have messed it up on that last page. So any posters who thinking about adding to this fun thread right now............. keep the pictures 800x600 please.
