Goodell and crew veiwed the tapes and determined that they did not give the patriots enough of an advantage to effect the outcome of the game. So hah! in your face.

"is that a supposedly great team destroys the competitive integrity that what makes football great. " that is sooo stupid...If one teams doing it, you don't think others are? perhaps thats how the colts came back against the Pats in the second half AFC championship.

"makes you wonder how they were able to KEEP winning about the same amount each year and then make it to the playoffs and barely beat people... " The colts keep winning...they win more games the patriots.

'the offensive line being suspended for two games, and then the defensive line being suspended the following two weeks. But that's just me." Why? they didn't do anythng wrong. This was the coaching staffs doing. noone except for a few members of the organization knew this was going on. When you guys say the team is a disgrace, you are talking about everyone in the organization, when only 5-10 guys did somthing wrong.

OK, two things.  First, the team is a disgrace for two reasons - A) we conclusively know that they were cheating, even if others were doing it, we don't have anything to prove it and B) as even the eternally disagreeing people on SportsCenter could agree on, there was no way that the likes of Tom Brady and others of his importance, on both the offense and the defense, didn't know this was going on.

And just because Goodell said that it didn't give them enough of an advantage to affect the final outcome of the game doesn't mean that it hasn't in the past.  Remember, there's at least one other highly probable case where they were doing this and they don't have any video tape for that particular case.

IMHO, Belicheck's punishment should have been either being banned from the rest of the season, or banned from football entirely.

Pat.. even it was some other team we would be saying the same things... so please dont take it personal that your favorite team is being talked about negatively. Any team no matter if they were found to have no "advantage" but still cheated is still wrong... no excuse... they have rules there for a reason and the Patriots circumvented those rules.

Just because you are a great player/coach/whatever doesnt mean you are above punishment... just like Micheal Vick... he messed up and is getting punished just like anyone would... just more publicly...

In Other News...

Albert Haynesworth is at it again... He was fined by the NFL $5000 yesterday for a unnecessarily rough tackle on Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew this weekend... as usual Albert brushed it off like nothing... In My Opinion Goodell should not only suspend players for a whole year for what they do off the field but also on it... and obviously Albert hasnt learned from last year when he stomped on a helmetless players face....

if they used cameras to spy on other teams no matter if they win or lose they are blatantly going against the NFL rules and destroying the integrity of this sport...

no one is jealous of the Patriots... we used to think that they were the greatest team of the Salary Cap Era... but now we cant be so sure...

no, the reason people care so much is because the pats are good! the colts fans want to blame 03/04 on this, the steelers fans want to blame 01/04 on this, titans 03, etc. etc. If it were the raiders, it would be headlines, shame on yous, then we'd move on and forget about it.

The reason why people care so much is because the Patriots are good AND we know that they were cheating. If it had been the Raiders, people wouldn't be concerned as much because the Raiders aren't much of a team. The NFL would still care, but public opinion would be "they suck so bad that they can't even win when they cheat." So yes, people care because the Patriots are good, but now, the public opinion is that they're good, but not in an honest way.

lol...2 hours till cowboys game kicks off...most of my picks are looking good right now

maybe i will regret posting this, but i think the Cowboys are going to whip the tar out of the dolphins. I know the Dolphins have had good defenses in the past, (though last weeks showing wasnt) , but when i think of this game I keep having flashbacks to last year with Cowboys vs Saints. Our former offensive coordinator, Sean Payton, comes in and knows all the ins and outs of the cowboys defense, and exposes all of its flaws in a blowout win.

Who's to say that Jason Garret wont be able to do the same thing against the dolphins?

PS: The player haynesworth stomped on was Andre Gurode, the Cowboys center.

Wow did anyone see Cleveland??!!! I can name maybe 4 of there players!!! they beat cinci 51-45. Carson threw for 350 6TDs but clevelands quarterback also played great, threw 5+. Looks like romeo won't be coming back to new england afterall lets hope ND keeps losing infact, if i were to geuss where this filming started, id say either the pittsburg streak snapping loss or when we lost weis and crennel.

They showed a couple of their touchdowns on the UK's NFL coverage, sounded like they played well tonight. The Bengals won't be pleased with scoring 45 points and still going on to lose the game.

The Bengals defense is absolutely pathetic - the Browns played very ugly today, as they did last week, but because their players and their coach have absolutely no clue as to how to stop a play, they got absolutely what they deserve.

The Bengals remind me more and more of the Vikings a few years back - some excellent offensive players, but absolutely no defense, and a ton of off-filed problems to go along with it. And, we know how many Super Bowls the Vikings won with Culpepper, right?

haha! the chargers are nowhere near the intensity level patriots. Thats what seperated the two last year. San Diego was way too c0cky and full of themselves coming in to it, and they paid the price. And the Patriots will be even better tonight, because they feed off of negativity, and with everyone hating them and doubting them, they will be flying around tonight. To bad rodneys out, he would wreck havoc on LT.
