AFAIK this project is near to death, with no one around to work on it. Olasz, I suspect, was the last person working on this. He has RL, so barring any unforeseen additions this may not look good for the project in general.

I have asked him to give me what he has worked since so I can take over (specifically the HSRP-Rail transtitions) .. but otherwise, nothing.

If you have low bridge mod installed, you will need to create a higher hill on both ends to enable ferry transtition, Other than that, it should allow ferries to pass through.

is there any way, before this project dies out, that you could make this a separate transit type? it would be just awesome to be able to have BOTH monorail and hsr in a city. if there was a way to do it, would be far better than just having monorail overwritten. nonetheless, awesome work so far... though i'm still holding my breath for the "final release."

and just a thought, why on earth would you want hsr-rail transitions anyway? where do they do that irl?

There is a way to do it, and it involves the draggable networks technique used in the NAM. Unfortunately, it's not that easy, and would mean this project would have to be integrated into the NAM.

No new networks can be added to the game. It's a limitation of the EXE.

*prods the topic*

Ground HSR, finished wires, more stations, I personally want it all. This project was running hard for some time, then just stopped halfway. I hope you can figure out your problem with the starter piece. I personally would suggest making the starter piece be the elevated to ground transition piece, kill two birds with one stone... not that I condone killing of birds. 3.gif

If you need any input or a tester, I've been able to find my way around the HSR network quite well.

Elaclairee: thanks for the reply, the GHSR still needs a lot of work, loads of work I haven't finished the Starter piece, and have only done orthorganal textures which aren't very good and could do with some one else making the textures.

Sorry, can't help with textures. But on that note, are you using a more ground-appropriate rail bed sort of texture instead of the bulkier concrete raised thing?

I just got the texture from the reader cut off the sides and loaded it into the dat file. I only have paint so i can't do much. So it's 2d without the blue sides. I still need to work out how to put wires on the track as well.

Basically you'd be looking at the same system of wires as the elevated HSR has, same props and all. Only problem is, incase you forgot, all the wire segments were never finished, theres still lots of gaps in it that need to be filled. I'll ask a few people if they'd mind helping out with props and textures if you want.

I like the HSR project, and use it throughout my region, i would hate to see it die. I however am useless at modding and batting.

I worked out how to get the visible on the track but the only problem was they were still at the same height as normal HSR. I think the file is called a type 21 exampler but I'm not 100% sure. Anyway the file just links you to another file and then that file links to another one and so on. I also now for some reason have the pillars (that support HSR) on the track (that showed after I changed from using textures to models) If anyone can me the two problems I would be most grateful.

I have managed to sort out the problems with starter piece. I would like to know if people (if anyones interested) whether the network should be 2D or 3D, the 3D model would be the normal HSR at ground level without the pylons. And would have the raised blueish things at the sides.

I won't be here tomorrow or the day after and possibily the day after that, so not much will be done, after that there is at the moment nothing in the way of me contnuing HSR until next weekend. I hope to post pictures after I have finished the orthognals 98% (namely removing shadows and pylons, which I don't know how to do yet and need some help) but I will still after that need to add wires and the posts that hold the wires.

i think this is a great idea as well! there's so much focus on urban areas and dealing with their traffic woes so we need all these higher capacity stations and stuff. i mean it is true we need this, but after travelling in europe (spain specifically), as you get out into the country, there arent as many bus stops or subways, but rather trains. it would be nice to see this, rather than the train (if this was faster than the train - i guess hence HIGH SPEED) and it would fit in a rural area. so i really like this concept. i think it would also help develop those outer areas and promote rural areas, rather than just non-stop development, like i've been doing. so good job guys!

Another problem, I can't get the paths to work at all, so again anyone who can help please do.

I also don't really understand T21 exemplars, which is 120% neccessary unless you want floating monorail or pylons in the middle of the GHSR track.

I have managed to make the RULs a bit more stable, but still a LOT of work to do.

And another question how should other networks (streets, roads, etc) cross GHSR? (underpasses, overpasses...)

I do apologize if this has been brought up already but will the HSR utilize the same trains as regular rail or have individual, streamlined trains for it. If so that'd be really cool, this is coming along well. I just finished watching a show on the Science Channel about high-speed rail, turns out it's making a comeback after being "killed off" by cars and planes. Thought of this project while I was watching it.2.gif
