Near the middle of this page slimdude asked to see a transportation map. Well here you go.

    riverdelta7mo.jpg

Green lines represent planned highways that will be built as soon as development reaches them.

Absolutely stunning! Thanks for the map Tim, and this prompts two questions:

First, Did you use Photoshop to alter that in-game transport view?

Second, If you did, how do you do it? This is the kind of picture I would love to have for my regions. 10.gif

I did use photo shop on it, but only to add in the green lines. To make the map you see there I used the Edmonton transportation modd (downloadable from STEX) and the zones aren't transparent becaues I turned off UI transparancy. (I think that is the culpit) 1.gif

Nice transportation system you have Tim. Very realistic and cool. Looks like you have lots of room to build on your region so who knows this journal will end, eh? Not that I want it to end20.gif Anyways thanks for posting on my journals, I may in fact switch back to Katalla to finish some things (I'm very easily persuaded to do so when I view you region!)

    Sincerly, Cewl10.gif

Another 5 days since the last picture.... I am really losing track of time over this summer! The problem is Sim City is just so slow on my computer. On the highest speed, 1 simday goes by in about 10 seconds. I usually have to wait 4 or 5 simyears till anything will develope, for some reason, and planting trees is almost impossible.

I am not going to give up, just giving an explination for the lack of updates.

    Sorry guys!

Sorry to hear about that mayortim. I was expecting something like this to happen due to the sheer size of your region. 48.gif

Also, for some reason, I get the feeling that you have a less than ideal amount of RAM. I think I may have read your computer specs somewhere. I know this is slightly off-topic, but what are your computer specs anyway?? 42.gif

Your transportation map is brilliant - I love to see large areas of development without the criss-cross of highways - yours are perfect!

I am back! (For now) and I have 2 updates lined up. One today, one tomorrow (hopefully)! This first update is from the Naval Base, which is now almost complete.

    p10dd.jpg

The Bulk of Klondike Delta's navy consists of destroyers, much like this one. A notable feature of most modern destroyers in Klondike Delta's navy is that they all have helipads, and all come equipped with either a combat or supply chopper.

    p28tw.jpg

Munitions, spare parts, consumables, and virtually everything else passes through warehouses like these. They were specially built by the Navy, and can withstand a direct hit from small arms fire, light anti-vehicle missiles, and even many bunker piercing shells.

    p30mm.jpg

There is a chemical and bio weapons facility located at the navy base. Biological warheads are currently Klondike Delta's most potent weapon, since the country does not currently posses nuclear weapons.

    p47ny.jpg

The base can accommodate up to 60,000 sailors at one time thanks to super large barracks. This is one of 5 identical buildings, which can support 12,000 personnel each.

    p58uu.jpg

Our navy boasts excellent recreational facilities. Soccer, football, baseball, softball, basketball, and tennis are all offered to base personnel on their off duty hours.

    p75bq.jpg

This is the bases main HQ. Located in an old stone chateau, this is the most heavily armored building in the base and hosts generals, captains, and other VIPs during their stay. It has been reinforced to withstand most air launched missiles and bombs, and its heavy stone walls can stop rockets and tank shells easily. Also in the area is an eatery, a memorial park, and several quiet shady park areas.

    p68gx.jpg

This isn't located in the naval base, but I thought I would show a picture of Madison Tunnel, which crosses under the mighty Klondike River.

Hey MayorTim - Great update here.  Absolutely fantastic job with the tunnel enterance.  Are those the Japanese Concrete walls?  That enterance looks so cool.

    Great Job.
