    pikatchoum: Thank you!
ephorex_77: Thanks. I also hate that mansions pop up all over the place instead of med. wealth homes, but I tend to just cover up all the land around the mansions (they have big open lawns so it is very easy to do) with pine trees. It makes it looks more realistic, and conceals the huge homes and massive areas of land pretty well.
    godwin1020: Thanks!
will_silver00: Glad you like my region views and my airport!
nooneatall: Ah, nooneatall, I always love getting feedback from you! Please don't apologize, comments like yours are my favorites. To address you: I know my streets are too close together, but it is a subconscious habit. I will try to remember to leave more space from now on. I also don't really like the look of the big box store lined streets, and I am thinking about redoing that whole area.
Thanks again for the great comment and suggestions!
utora: I am also surprised that I made it past page 20 with this journal, I never envisioned I would get this far with it when I started out.
dhoppeii: Your right, it has been too long since you last visited! 2.gif Glad you like my region pics.
Iknowu: I appreciate the 3 thumbs!

Thanks for commenting everyone, and if you didn't comment, thanks for viewing! 1.gif

That is a really cool region, I saw that pic of the region and went that's big, and it is big.46.gif

I have to say your region and the cities look very realistic, and I love your airport.
The downtown looks massive, and those suburbs go on for miles. Your a monster, a good one.10.gif

So, any chance you'll show pics of downtown. 42.gif39.gif

screamomatic: Thanks for the comments dude! If you are looking for downtown pictures, there are 2 big updates that deal with downtown a few pages back. I haven't worked on it since, mostly because of the lag, so those are still the most up to date pictures you can get.
jacqulina: Sorry about the delay, but it is here now!
Cjah: Thanks for stopping by! And about seeing more old parts of the region: Shhh! Don't ruin the surprise! Opps, I just did! 14.gif

Thanks for the comments everyone, and sorry for the delay in the last update! 1.gif

Some really good updates recently, I love the suburbs with the Roda JC football stadium in, and Greenwich has some terrific suburbs also. Good work.

    Thanks for the comments everyone!

Not much of an update tonight, but I thought I would give you all a new region view. Included in the picture is the town of Greenwich, and areas of proposed new development.

    quote>

Klon-dike: A region of Yukon Territory, Canada, just east of Alaska and traversed by the Klondike River, about 145 km (90 mi) long. Gold was discovered here in August 1896, leading to the gold rush of 1897-1898 in which more than 25,000 people sought their fortune in the frozen north. Small quantities of gold are still mined in the area.

There is also a Klondike Bar which is my favorite candy.

Note: The Klondike in Canada has almost nothing in common with Klondike Delta. Klondike Delta has a similar climate, but that is where the similarities end.

    Thanks for the comment!

I've never seen a city so well thought...

Are you urbanist expert in real life ?

    Wow! 2 comments already!
fredval: No, alas I am only a 14 year old. I actually didn't know much about cities until I picked up Sim City 3000 Unlimited, and I am now I am considering a career as either an architect or a civil engineer.
dhoppeii: Thanks, but Kondike Delta is nowhere near full. The area in that region shot is about a fourth of the actual region, and the rest has no development yet.

I was fiddling around with The Gimp, and came up with this...

Hmm... that proposed new development in the far east of the downtown looks like the perfect place for green peace-ers to protest for a greenbelt... hmm...

Other than that, the new zone beneath the airport seems like the perfect place for some suburbs, and maybe a resort-like city, or maybe a casino-based one, if you put it far enough away from the city... I'm looking forward to see how you developp these areas!

And, I also love that horizontally-flipped image, if you rotate it a little more, you can create a good enough illusion of having a 3D-based game; I had experimented with doing that earlier. There is definately room for some more photoshop-ed pictures in this CJ: just don't over-do them!

    Keep up the good work!

nooneatall: Thanks. I will look into some of your suggestions, though I already have an idea of where I am going to build a casino based city (Now if only there were more Casinos on the STEX) And the area where you said sims might protest for a greenbelt.... they did, but that didn

    Hello cj readers!

Today I am happy to announce that Norwood, the city that was devastated when a nuclear power plant exploded several pages back, has made a satisfactory recovery. Here are the first pictures taken from the city since the disaster.

    p11cb.jpg

Here is the west side of Norwood. This is the oldest side, the location of Norwood's CBD, and the site of the nuclear disaster. The west side is very busy, and is unfortunately also home to the ghettos. the residential areas around the industrial district have poverty, mob violence, gang wars, and drug dealers. Everyone that could afford to get out of these areas already has.

    p24bs.jpg

The West Side is the more upper class area of town. Brand new high wealth suburbs dot the landscape, and everything is not too close but not too far from Downtown Norwood. There is very little crime in this part of town, and most people here are wealthy. There are luxury apartments in the central west side, which is closer to downtown.

    p34qg.jpg

Here is an area I just built today. Located in the West Side, it features a high tech industrial park, a commercial office park, and a few single family homes. Its main purpose is to add some much needed jobs to help revive this area, since after the nuclear disaster many jobs closed down and moved out.

    p42pj.jpg

Finally, here is downtown Norwood. Norwood's CBD has grown considerably over the past few years, and it is now the second largest and tallest downtown in the region. With another 3 skyscrapers approved, Norwood's skyline will get even larger over the comming years.

Thats all for today! Comments are welcome and appreciated! 1.gif

Awsome...Pure sweetness.....Like a Klondike Bar on a hot day in California....48.gifYep....The incident has seemed to pass...but the ghettoes show how bad things can get....The west is quite nice.....Hey East and West Norwood....Maybe you got the idea from the cold war....like East and West Berlin?11.gif

Anyway great work bringing people back in that area....I personally would move 50 miles away...11.gif44.gif

Dirty industry (with complementary pollution cloud) next door to a massive and beautiful skyscraper jungle. Think 'juxtaposition' 18.gif

On a more serious note, the city really looks great and well organised. The leafy look of the entire region (which, correct me if I'm wrong, is achieved by the god-mode tree function post game) looks really great!!

    Keep those pics coming!! 19.gif
